helia, I hope dd18's day at school is easy on her! Hope she keeps improving.

Yes, I believe Kathryn and Ken were served some good hot-rize biscuits! (The Martha White spelling ;) ) We got some yesterday from BoJ's that were barely an inch tall and HRH was explaining to us later what probably went wrong in the kitchen. Smiling at Kathryn decision to ask for hot tea since she was in the south.

Thinking about cotton, I suppose there is not much growing on highways around here that K and K might have seen, just on farms off the beaten path. The hotel where Dee stayed in our area was near the former site of a small gin. Our area and the mountainous western part of the Carolinas into Tennessee would have less cotton in general, so K and K wouldn't have seen it on their TN trip. The eastern half of the Carolinas, with the greater expanses of level ground, grows plenty-plenty. My cousin the librarian's family is a cotton-growing family and her dh runs a gin. Some family from our neck of the woods go to their annual season-end celebrations.

Delighted with Kathryn's take on the service and how welcome she felt. I feel like I was there. Have not heard "kinetic" in reference to preaching but immediately knew what she meant. About the sermon direction veering off - In my dsecondmil's church the minister spends an hour not getting to the part he was headed for! :D Our own minister can do some of that himself - enough to drive dsonil, who really desires "full circle" sermons, a little crazy! Fascinating that the minister's hat stayed on through the preaching, but then as I think of it, it makes sense that he would not take it off at the indoor-outdoor venue of Cowboy Church.

Yiiii.....somewhere in the recesses of this room (or perhaps in the car) is dh's bottle of prostate medicine. He only takes it at bedtime so I have it in a pill dispenser for 1 week & place it on his pillow. Used the last one in there last night. Uh-oh, now I can't find the bottle anywhere! Sure it's somewhere. I'll look in the car when dh returns. For now I think I'll quit for a bit. Arrgghhh Everything else is in the medical bin, but not that ONE.

Dh went for a walk without me. I'm just staying home & resting for a bit. Yes, OKay, I'm sort of keeping track of symptoms. Really an up and down thing. Sure it's a bronchial thing and if I continue today, as the day goes on, I'll have dh take me to UC and see if they can find anything.

And again slow getting started for today...seems to be my MO.

I rescheduled dMoe's vet trip to the afternoon at 3 p.m. and the guy I'm meeting at temple suggested we move to 12:30. I'm writing down something of an "agenda" and some other notes for myself.

Need to;
-walk ddogs
-s2s
-meds/vitamins me and ddogs
-clear kitchen counters
-fold laundry before I start anymore

Forgot to hit submit...

Good morning, villagers ~

Learning = Today I finally get to start reading the Boat Galley Cookbook which is an interlibrary loan. I won't be allowed to renew it, so have a legit excuse to sit and read tonight after supper. I'm sure I'll learn all kinds of things for pantry food storage and new meal ideas.

Okay ~ Thanks for the mention of cheese quesadilla + pineapple, now I know what I'm having for lunch! :)

Yesterday I tried to take it easy. More ibuprofin through the day than I've had to take for some weeks. Did some dishes and a little laundry, and we went to McD's for lunch for a wrap with grilled chicken & lots of veggies. Misc. leftovers for supper.

I did go to the library to finish clean-up -- shoved some furniture back into place and reorganized the boxes in the tiny storage closet where we keep the books to sell. Saturday afternoon someone had put the leftover books in there all higgledypiggledy, with empty boxes hidden where they could not be reached behind full ones. There are a lot of months between now and the summer book sale, and very few other places we're allowed to store the merchandise. I used my jigsaw puzzle skillz :geek: to stack the boxes as high and compactly as I could, and left the empty boxes just inside the door for easy access.

That took over an hour of hard physical labor so drained all my energy. I watched 2 Christmas romance movies on the Hallmark channel last night, worked 1 of the Sunday crosswords in the paper, and looked through the little 1940s coffee cookbook. That was about all the excitement I could stand.

This morning I've been trying to concentrate on sorting out the cash box and bookkeeping spreadsheet. Must get the deposit slip put together to go the bank this afternoon. Also need to pay some bills. I just hit the wall, though, so in a few minutes I'm going to go up and take and nap with the cats. Not enough sleep finally catching up to me.

Most wear their cowboy hats at all times regardless of being indoors/outside. The exception being during public prayers (everyone removes their hats) and most remove it while signing national anthem. Oh! And I suspect the cowboy hats come off when they are in bed asleep. :D

All sweet potatoes harvested from the garden have finished their 10 day curing time so LO helped me wash/wrap them in to be baked. Both oven racks are full.

While I was looking at my coffee soaked and drying planner pages, ***VBSigh*** I found a scheduling conflict this week between my yearly appt with family doctor and counselor appt. Have moved the counseling appt to tomorrow (instead of Thursday).

LO is busy making cards to mail to various people. just an activity that keeps him quiet and occupied.....plus helps him practice his letter writing.

Remembered there was one more large plastic zipper bag in the bathroom. There was the bottle of medicine. Evidently dropped it in there at the last minute when we left the RV. I had it out to fill the weekly med dispenser. So finished emptying and putting things away from there (organized). My goal is to not have to "LOOK" for anything. Yeah, good luck with that one.

Dh is back from his walk and out puttering in the shop with dsonil. Sure disisil will be calling soon. We haven't been there since Thursday. Mainly because of my cold.

Good Morning Dear Ladies,

Beautiful sunny day here.

Was so glad that K&K were able to spend time with Okay and family.

Learned this morning that DH is worried about business, it is slowing down for this time of year. Did some more juggling of bills. Called and paid a doctor's bill over the phone. Like to keep medical bills paid up. Will do some more pondering, praying and juggling through the day.

Listening to Reba as I cook and work on laundry.

Going back to the stove soon and then back to the washer and dryer.

Great day to all!

Just realized I haven't been here since Friday!! :o :o

I have many pages to catch up on.

Saturday was the annual garage sale here at the park. Lots of great stuff out there. I picked up a small Mexican pot, at unique basket and best of all - a 6 x 8 rug that goes perfectly in my LR. It even has kokopellies on it!!

Sunday was long because we stayed up the hill for a gospel concert. This gal wrote two great songs about the Yarnell fire - One called "Blazing Honor" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMnX99AC84Y) for the 19 hotshots that were killed at the fire and the other one "Yarnell Rising" about the people of Yarnell. Her website is http://deniseroggio.com

Time to go wash dishes.
PS: I know exactly where K&K stayed - been past that motel every time we are in Tucumcari.
