I can't get over the size of the price increase, either, Harriet. Usually, it is 5 cents or so. As well, they are cancelling home delivery of mail over the next five years. About half the country doesn't have it anyway (any place built after 1987) and obviously, I don't so that isn't as big a deal. It will be on the rural routes, though.

I've done nothing tonight except price the LA to Ottawa trip. It is 2/3 of the price we spent for Ottawa to LA because that trip is over the Christmas holidays. Plus we paid extra so we can try and upgrade. The flight back we won't bother to try and upgrade.

Now to quickly proofread the bulletin for tomorrow, send it off to the church office and then get the dishes done.

Thank you for the good words for dgd18 and dgs12!

Happy Birthday to LisaB's dd!

Kathryn - wow, that is a big increase in the cost of postage. It makes me wonder if U.S. postage will also increase soon.

Dee - I'm glad you were able to talk to dsisil without issues. Oh, and glad for $$ back in the mail.

OKay - saw your good news...Yea!

BookSaver - I'm glad you were able to get your driveway cleared to get out tomorrow.

Helia - nice to hear Maia is better. Your calendar looks like it would be good for a busy family like yours. Just recently I've started using a Day-Timer Family Plus and I think it will be just right for dh and me.

My Plan of Action is getting longer. Every time I do something and cross it off I end up adding more lines!

Got up to the kitchen, saw the butter on the counter and realized I'd forgotten to bake squares for tomorrow! Made shortbread relatively quickly. It takes longer now with my new mixer than my old. The dough hook isn't as efficient.

Dishes are all cleaned up and the dishwasher is running. Still have a load of laundry to hang up and then I'll get ready for bed.

Goodnight!

I still have some Christmas shopping to do but I am behind on laundry, so I have decided to stay home tomorrow. I can do laundry plus take the time to see how much I still need for gifts and stocking stuffers. Then Friday I can buy groceries and do more Christmas shopping. I wanted to be done by Friday but it probably won't happen. I am trying not to stress over this because too much else is going on.

I am hoping to work on Christmas cards this weekend.

Dd2 will be closing her business on Dec. 29. They are having a Christmas party for her employees on Monday night. She plans to hand them an envelope as they leave with a bonus and a letter explaining that she is closing and giving them 2 weeks notice. She also asks them to please help her finish what they started. Dgd17 does not even know this. Dd2 told me that it would just be too hard for her to announce it at the party. She has put so much time and money into this adventure and never took home a penny of profit. The bank wanted her to close in October and her dh wanted her to keep it open thru Christmas. She is making 1/3 of what she did last year. A business is suppose to grow, not decrease. Dd2 also told me that she is 65% sure that she will not teach next year. It will be dgd4s last year at home before starting school. She already feels like she lost too much time with her kids over the business and she is ready to make up for that. I am glad that they can afford for her to do that.

Well I better head to bed.
