There are so many things that I want to do today that I am having a hard time narrowing it down to what will fit into the hours available.

Thinking out loud -

I **need** to go stove shopping. Our oven has been flaky for a while, but now it won't work at all. Since I cook from scratch most all meals (serving approx 20 meals a week at home), I want a stove that is not only functional but a joy to use. I've researched online but want to put "hands-on: before I make the final decision. While I'm shopping for stove I also need to find a new kitchen faucet.

Shopping is a huge energy drag to me so I might need to break it up into a couple trips.

Today we need to pick up the bulk fruit and candy order and have it in place for tomorrow's assembly into individual bags. Also need to get other items needed in this project - plastic gloves for all to wear, bags to put the fruit/candy into, Stapler?, ribbon?, boxes to hold/transport the filled bags.

Will spend a couple hours working at clothes closet. I have several coats to take too.

MPB will open this morning for the first time in 9 days. DH will be doing most of that effort, with me on stand-by to help and/or be go-fer.

Several amazon deliveries are due (over-due). Need to be somewhere close when that happens because I don't want a pile of boxes sitting outside our gate for hours.

House heater repair fellas were a no show yesterday. Did the part not arrive? Need to touch base with them and see what is the plan.

I'm up, have had a mug of tea, looked at emails - we have a location other than our home for small group on Saturday! Yay! And made a detailed list for today.

- write 3 checks
- mail in the mailbox
- whites, washed and in dryer
- rice for rice salad made
- lunch made

9:30 ~ 2:00
- gas the van
- go to dfriend's home in neighboring village to help set up for the moms group potluck tonight
- mall shopping - 2 items. I didn't get to this yesterday.
- 2 stops at nearby shopping plaza: TJ and pet store for g. pig hay

2 - 6:15
- tidy living rooms
- perhaps s/s main bathroom; it is pretty clean as is
- wrap gifts
- gym
- towel/bedding laundry, at least 1 load
- make rice salad
- start breadmaker by 3 pm for dh who is cooking for the Th. dinner crew tonight
- rec. another month bank statement

6:15 - 10:30 pm
- change clothes
- go to dfriend's' home
- enjoy potluck party with moms group friends!!

Last night, I finally worked on getting finances updated for the end of the year. I put in all our checks into Quicken, checked website to see our giving to a certain missionary family, was able to give online. And b/c of Quicken updates, I now know who we owe what in the giving dept. Not too bad. I don't keep careful track for the giving that is not automatic, and so sometimes it turns out I'm way behind for those families by Dec. I also labelled some of our giving a little more clearly in Quicken to help when we gather info for taxes.

I also went back to my project of reconciling bank statements. Ai yi yi. . . I hadn't done that since the end of April. So, I got the May statement done last night. And this is why I'm not an accountant. . . I do keep tabs on the accounts through the bank website.

Funny chicken happening. . . Dh discovered yesterday that our dominant hen has been perching so close to the heat lamp in the coop that she has burned some of the feathers on her back. He doesn't think it is enough to affect her insulation, but he did move the heat lamp in the coop. . . .

I am up low bs so having food honey granola bar & coffee w /creamer hubby may have to make his own coffee.

Hens light is on two hens were out last night in the run the are favorite ones and the lead hens that cackle when the sun comes up.

9:30 Church office - produce this week's bulletin, start training on how to do the Annual Report.

12:30 Lunch out, just me, a bit of down time in a busy day

1:30 Non-profit housing board meeting

2:30 Set up for Christmas tea

3:00 Christmas tea for the residents of the senior's non-profit housing building

4:30 (hopefully) home

5:30 Leave for Historical Society dinner. Thought it was to be turkey but apparently it is potluck - we are excused from bringing anything.

7:00 ish Lead a carol sing for the Historical Society.

8:30 ish home.

Waiting on a lol of laundry to finish, so I can hang it up and reload the washer. Then I will take a shower.

I had my hair cut yesterday and she did another extra short cut. At least it grows quick. As long as I can do something with it, I can deal with it.

They are very close to being done with dd2s house. She actually listened to me and is having the carpets cleaned plus the ductwork and dryer vent cleaned out. As much sheetrock dust as there was, this seems like the best way to be done with the mess that is there that can't be seen.

I slept in this morning but woke up last time at 8:42!! Now have completed breakfast, etc. Trying very hard to lose some of this weight. It is taking great diligence.

Dh went for his walk and then took the car to see why the engine light is on. He discovered Tuesday that the antifreeze level was down greatly but could find no leak. Filled that -light still on. Our mechanic (here) tested it and found it's the EGR valve. We've had that replaced at least once in the past few years but at least it's not the catalytic convertor (again). I was nervous. Dh had also noticed we were in pretty bad need of new shocks (I never noticed), but DS-A did when he drove it this fall. They were going to replace struts and shocks, but dh asked if we REALLY needed the struts since we hope to trade within the year. So doing shocks & the valve on Tuesday. Mechanic said we could probably drive it "for a year" with the valve clogged. (I've heard this before when we nearly burst into flame in May because of the Cat. Conv.) I will be more at ease for sure.

Coolish here this morning and very gray. Don't know if we're forecast for rain or not. (Not complaining -not with the temps so many of you are dealing with). Know it's been snowing a lot up home. Keeping DS-A busy at any rate.

I am feeling human now, went back to bed have s2s and did my hair.

I have fed and watered the hens changed their light and roost for tonight. Sun is up now and it feels mild out.

My heel and finger are not hurting that helps.

Home again, home again, and Happy Kitty Dance. There is joy in Tobias' little heart for sure. Didn't think about it, but he traveled away in the car, traveled back in the truck, so smells were still confusing though we told him - in English - he was going home. Except for our presence, he still couldn't be sure everything was alright until we actually got settled into the house. He never ate a bite for the clinic but ate here as soon as I offered. HRH traveled with me and was happy with the new clinic.

Very grateful, actually, that both our pets are in so much better health than they have been at a couple recent crisis moments. Sammie is bounding around the yard through the day, and barking at wildlife at night , so all's right with her world again - plumper and definitely growing in her thick winter coat. Tobias is over the sudden crisis and Vet says it was caught so quickly that he'll be right as rain.

Whew!

So many good intentions have bitten the dust lately. I had thought of making a batch of those pretty but time-consuming cupcakes for the party Saturday, but that's just out of the question after such a surprising week. I am going to have to accept my limitations. I'm sure dd33 will be taking homemade coconut pie and homemade fudge, so I'll make some deviled eggs and just let it go.
