Hi everyone! I have been busy today! The first things I did was put things on my 2014 calendar for my DayRunner and consolidate my lists and divide tasks into: today, tonight, Saturday, and pending.

From the Today list:
call pet sitter
change of address at the eye doctor - done!
figure out schedule for next Friday
arrange return of cat crate - done!
minutes for animal org - done!
various emails - done!
arrange lunch - done!

I also managed to pick up 2 small gifts for DD11 when I realized that the Lego store was right next to the lunch place. Tonight, I am going to the knit/crochet group and

Tonight's List
buy gift cards and gifts
cover outside faucets
start figuring out insurance for time of unemployment
deposit checks
filing
check medicine supply for trip to AL
job search
get ToDo pages for DayRunner
add some items to my copy of the church directory
pick up cat crate

Probably some of the items for tonight will slip over into Saturday.

TwinsMom: Do you live near Mobile AL? That is where I will be for the holidays. Incidentally, the Mardi Gras season starts on New Years Eve with a Mobile style Mardi Gras parade. (Mobile style means family friendly, no one exposing her chest, and candy and toys thrown from floats instead of underwear).

Dinner is done and all cleaned up. I had bought a roast earlier this week and forgotten to freeze it so we had it this evening. No special reason, just because.

Dd called to check dates for her visit at Christmas. They are taking the train up and will arrive on the 27th and return on the 30th. I preach twice on the 29th so it will be a short visit (and i'll have to give up my after work nap that day, sigh....) I'll try and get the sermon done this upcoming week so I'm not panic writing at the last minute while they are here.

My sermon for Sunday is 4/5 done. I need to get back to it now.

Hi, it's been quite a day here. I have congestion in my head again and a trying-to-be sore throat. Drats! Why is this stuff trying to come back? I must be run down and I'm wondering if it's my dieting. I've finished the bottle of airborne and I'm taking echinaca (sp?).

I jumped up to my desk first thing while drinking my coffee and wrote all my Christmas cards. I didn't count them. At least a dozen. Those are off today. Then I typed up a "rememberance letter" for DH as he dictated. His DSis is putting something together to give their DDad for Christmas and asked him to write up some good memories. Huh. He went through all the bad memories with me last night, then finally stumbled upon something nice that actually did happen in his growing-up years. So that is done and mailed off to her.

Went to bank, pharmacy, library, 3 stores to start some of this Christmas shopping. I am done with 3 people. Plus the ones I've already mailed. 7 more to go and I'm clueless about all of them. I've asked for ideas but didn't get any so far. sigh...I was so worn out I couldn't stop to get the things DH wanted at the grocery. It's really hard doing Christmas this year. I was stiff and sore by the time I got back home.

Watered the veg. garden and heated up dinner. Tomorrow is another day to do stuff. I have to keep pushing to get this stuff done.

Bad headache again tonight. Not sure why. I suspect a different trigger each time so can't narrow a cause down.

Sermon is done. Children's story is under control. The passage is Isaiah 35 so I'm using photos of the Namib desert to give them a sense of desolation and then what water can achieve (at the oasis.) Plus a shot of a desert highway and how unprotected it is so they can understand why the Holy Way highway would be special to the Israelis.

The children's hymn is up in the air. I had picked something we don't know and CM recorded it for me and sent me the file. I have to agree it is unsingable so we'll switch to one based on Isaiah 55. The kids love it (it has clapping) and I'm still in the same book of the Bible, so close enough!

Off to bed now. Or maybe off to do physio. I'm very sore after the walk today.

I'm off to bed now.

Hope you get over the headache quickly, Kathryn.

Will have to check out OKay's link.

All the gifts are wrapped, with handmade tags attached. The bows are in a bag to transport with them. Everything fit, with some finagling, into the large Amazon box in which some of the gifts arrived. So I hope it will be no particular problem transporting.

I've visited my colorist. So the big 3 needful things are done.

We haven't heard from dd33 and family, and it's so late we're scared to call the house to make sure they arrived safely. :? So cold, we can't bear the thought of going out! Oh well, they get along every day without my input, and these are two adults. HRH left all the lights on and turned the thermostat to 69 for them. He stocked the kitchen with things the boys will be delighted to see.
