Back from shopping. It took longer than I expected. Got a $39 renewal fee reversed off my credit card while I was at the bank. I'm annoyed since that should have not been charged in the first place. Took in all of ds's penny jar and got $5.25. Plus I had $9 in changed that I had already rolled.

I'm tired but still have church prep for tomorrow. I think I might look for some pre-written prayers of the people. I'm brain dead right now. Still have to write the Christmas Eve prayers so I can hand out those parts tomorrow. We never got over to the church so my mike isn't hooked up. I'm too pooped to go now so dh will probably do that tomorrow somehow between caroling and my starting the service (which is not actually possible.)

The dark really slows us down even though it happens early. I'm ready for bed now even though it is just 5 p.m. Forget dinner, I just want to sleep.

DH is at his retiree friend's funeral now, I'm working on a children's short story, I was trained to write for children, but have written for adult women since 2005. I feel like a fish out of water. I hope I can pull it off. After the story's handwritten, I'll log it and then start on poetry by hand, log that and do a cover letter. I just wanted to break out and try something different for the New Year. Also, on my list is to read my book about how to write mysteries, read some mysteries on my Nook and to re-read Woman's World solve-it-yourself mysteries. I'd love to go that route, too. Maybe turning 62 in Jan. is making me more adventurous?

I hope the funeral is a good one. DH will pick mail up on his way home, after he gets some milk.

Well Ivy..
So much for taking it easy. I started on the "girl's" guest room and it turned into Cathy's de-cluttering project. Geesh, it's not that I mind, but it does push back my schedule a bit...

I've gone through all the drawers in the room...dumped most of the stuff. Redid the bed making sure the electric blanket controls are on the right sides for each sleeping partner. In between I've managed to re-do the hall/laundry closet, and two loads of laundry. The guest bed if fit for king. Next is to re-arrange the closet. Still haven't worked my way into my bathroom, but its not going any where and I know I will be thrilled with the results once I get things done to my liking.

Told Sweetie we need to make plans for dinner....he's so good about that...cause there's no way I'm making dinner tonight. I'd like to keep going till I run out of steam. No Gazelle for me today, but at the rate I'm going I'm sure I've put in way more than 10,000 steps..and many of them have been up and down the 4 step step stool. That's gotta count

Oh, I forgot...I wrapped all but one present...its a big one, and everything is under the tree. Can I get a Yippie ...

Second load of laundry is in the washer...
But I still feel like a slug. I'd like to curl up and take a nap right now.

Do you ever have any problems with it now?

'Fraid so, Ivy. It's still painful a lot of the time & can't move it at all (only from my elbow to my hand). There's just no muscle there to work with -I tore it out when I fell. It's one of the big reasons we come south for the winter. I had PT for over a year and they finally just told me to quit as it was not going to make a difference. I do exercise it as much as I can, but it's just one of those things I've learned to live with. Praying ds-R doesn't have to live with the same set of circumstances. He said the other night that "I can't move it as much as yours, Mom". My reply, "Uh, R, if you'll remember, I can't move mine at all."

Had our church Christmas party this afternoon -we're all sufficiently stuffed. Now I need a nap. Took a flag and case over to DSisil to see if she could help dh get it in the box. Unfortunately the flag was huge for some reason. Dsisil asked if it had been on the casket -no, but it was even bigger than that. Somehow they got it in for our church friend and she'll be happy. She was in tears the other day when they couldn't get it to go in and the case was coming apart.

It's been snowing here all day. We didn't need to go anywhere or do anything. That was good because Mike has been glued to his easy chair in front of the tv and I just woke up from a 4 hour nap. Mike woke me up because I had just had a couple of texts on my cell which woke him up.

Weather update... it's still snowing.

Hello, villagers ~
DH and I have been having a pretty quiet day today.

I sewed for a couple of hours last night on end-of-the-year gifts for my sewing group board members. I'll do some more tonight. There are 9 in all. The meeting is Tuesday evening, which is a reasonable deadline now that I've done a few start to finish and can assembly-line the rest.

I didn't make it to the library yesterday, but stopped today and lucked out on movies to check out. I've only seen the 1st movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Today I was able to borrow all 3 plus The Hobbit. I can enjoy a Tolkein movie marathon while working on dreaded boxes of paper file archives for the next few days.

Tonight while I'm sewing I'll put on a recorded show that needs more listening than watching.

(Lynlee) Sorry you've been having a rough time. Thanks for linking to that blog post. I have bookmarked her site because she has some fabulous stuff there. Like Godzilla wearing a Santa hat and covered in twinkly lights. I'm interested to read some of her earlier posts.

Kathryn ~ The early darkness is getting to me, too. I'm glad that I have an Ott Lite next to my sewing machine because I rarely get to sew in broad daylight. Sometimes I turn it on when I want to read a book, my own version of a SAD light. Actually, my desk lamp is a mini Ott Lite and I use it every morning when I'm on the computer.

All of the hens are tucked in with their p. m. Light now. I spiffed up the kit. Had dinner and had hubbys work clothes in the wash. Dson is ordering something h. wanted so that might be his gift from them if not wemwill covermit. Just do not do much on line shopping. Got 4 calls about pc fixes in the last few days ack! Will really tell them what I think if we get another call. Do not have a pc now ... just the android tab.

I have spiffed up & swept the kitchen. On the gazelle now.
New hens are on the roost in the coop others are outside not sure
What we will do about incorperating them with the rest as they adapt and get the new routine in place. Wondering how to tell when the new hens start laying when they are on the nest I guess.

(((Dee))), It sounds terrible as to what you've had to endure with your shoulder. Hoping R. can get his shoulder resolved, too.

DH went to the funeral of a retiree co-worker of his who always wore plaid shirts with jeans. DH said so many people wore plaid shirts and jeans to the funeral, in his memory- even his WIFE! I thought that was a nice gesture on a lot of peoples' parts. ♥

I worked on a short story by hand, but am at a "loss" for a title now. I'll look at the sample copy, look at their titles for stories, to "see" if I can come up with a good one, which will encompass what the story's about. I was surprised how easy it went to "get back into the saddle" so to speak, having trained in a correspondence course for children's writing. I went into writing confessions' poems and stories from 2005 - current day. Wanted to give kids a try, because I've got so many grandchildren now, that I can "relate" to kids better than in 2005.

I wrapped gifts, bagged them, have 2 neighbor's gifts done, 1 gal who lives 1.25 miles away and the mail carrier's gift, which was hot chocolate in a tin. Next, tomorrow or the next day, I'm moving onto washing afghans, drying them with dryer sheets and wrapping them. After that, I need to block hat bills, to prevent from curling. And get the rest of the grandkids' gifts wrapped.

I'd better run to see what's for dinner. Have a Wonderful Evening, Everyone!

Cowinkie - YIPPPEEE!!

DH, DGS16, LO and myself went on a guided Candle Light stroll through 1800 century this evening. The stroll part was walking from building to building. We attended a short service in original chapel then moved on to the General's home. The "real" General and his wife was there to welcome us into their home then there were actors that shared what life was like a hundred years ago. We moved on to the Buffalo Soldier barracks and finally the stockade/jail. The 1.5 hour tour was very interesting and I appreciate the effort the actors put into their parts.

We ate dinner at our favorite Chinese place before taking DGS16 home.

DH is shutting MPB down before it freezes. I need to get LO and myself going on our bedtime cards.
