Where am I? In unplanned time vortex, I think. . The day is not going as planned. What else is new? I'm not sure why I even plan sometimes. . .I still haven't left to go shopping. I have..
- changed dd18's Dr. appt.
- ordered flowers for the memorial service on Saturday; started the process online and finished it by phone
- fielded several emails from dh's family re: the flowers
- phone calls from dfriend S2 and then dfriend B
- gathered and started laundry
- determined via email that I will send my parents' package after they return from their travels
- gotten a.m .routine partially done
- had lunch

And. . . the sun is shining!!

I have called ds but have not heard back.

I'm going to have some tea and QT before I head out to. . . Toys R Us.

Bare Bones Goals for today:
- some more laundry done
- Toys R Us
- make sure I have boxes for some gifts that are awkward to wrap without, like 5 1 lb. bags of peanuts
- wrap dbro and dnieces gifts
- get their package in the mail
- pick up ds, maybe?
- dinner is simple: tacoes and fruit
- dd15 to and from synchro, 5:15 - 7:45 drop off and pick up times
- book club tonight at 8; dfriend S2 called to make sure I was coming. Another friend has invited several friends to join us and I wonder if S2 was wanting to make sure she had moral support present? She is hosting this month.

My week's going by TOO fast! We need to deliver gifts to 3 places, I slept in, I'm running so late today, Friday it'll snow from 5 - 8 a.m., they said, and I need to get gifts delivered THIS week, not next! Oh, my. Will I get the gifts with visits for awhile, done at these three lovely homes?

Nodding along with Helia and Lucylee. I still haven't gotten to the shower. I've dealt with more than the 2 emails and more than 10 pieces of paper because I lost track. Hopefully finalized agenda but don't have written reports yet. Still need to review minutes of last meeting which were just sent yesterday and review financial info for meeting.

Been talking to dmom on the phone. That is definitely a time vortex... and conversation jumps from one crazy squirrel to another...

Dmom still says (NOW) that the thundering herd can come to her house if I just am not up to this... but good grief, I'm more up to it than she is. And I've obligated myself, now. As dcousinil said, "It's a Christmas miracle!" Must see it through. HOWEVER, I did tell dmom if this falls my lot for the life, she and I will definitely be alternating this and next year it IS at her house, come ... you know what or high water.

Oh well... things to be thankful for... I don't have lice. No one I know has lice...
I am not giving exams and grading exams.

OH WOW!!! I missed that dgd had moved out of Phase 1, Dee!!! That's wonderful!!!

Just wanted to tell y'all -- I've been looking back through the year... thinking about how much my life has changed in the past year. Ddad's death... Retirement... Dcousin now fighting cancer... dsisil leaving dbil... so much can happen in a year's time. What a rollercoaster ride my family has been on since this time last year.
I seriously want you all to know how much I appreciate y'all holding my hand, listening to me, and praying me through all this. Your support and friendship is such an incredible blessing to me.
And in the midst of all this hectic season, I want y'all to know that, and I want to take time to wish you ALL a beautiful holiday season with time to rest and recuperate, to enjoy your families, to connect with friends, to find peace and joy in your lives... and I hope you all experience good health and healing in physical needs, as well as the emotional and other needs that all of us face from time to time.
I just do not know what I would do without you girls, and I wanted to take time to tell you.

Bulletin draft was finished. CM and I went over it and looked at the estimated time. Egads! It clocked in at 75 minutes! (I'm supposed to deliver 45 - 60 minutes.)

We took out the sung call to worship and the meditation and cut a verse of the opening hymn. Then I timed everything more accurately (actually said all the words of most of the stuff.) It clocks in now at 55 minutes. That's as good as it will get, folks.

I'll need to redo the bulletin but that can wait until tonight.

I need to head out to get the boys Christmas gifts.

Lucylee, That's really sweet and nice, what you posted. I agree, how we're "here" for each other and we're all so fortunate to have each other in our lives, for support, to sound off to, to rant, or cry and give sympathy when needed. It makes the Village a nice cozy welcome place to come to every day. When I miss posting on some days, it doesn't feel "quite right".

I appreciate everyone here, too. The cyber friendships are wonderful, we/I learn so much and many things, we share links, what we're reading, who we're praying for, our health and weight losses or gains, and crafts and needlework, too. I think the Village makes me more well-rounded.

Lucylee, You had quite a year of change, too! :! Hoping the New Year's not full of as much change for you and things settle down, too. You take care of yourself.

I called 2 homes, got an appt. to drop off gifts at 1 home, the other home had voice mail on, and no answer at the 3rd home. But they still may be in Canada. The wife's Dmom's DH passed away, so they're bringing her back to the states. We don't know if they're back yet or not.

I did yoga, am heading to s2s, and dress. Talk about a late start!

Thank you Lucylee for your beautiful words to our loving village. I feel the same way too! So much to be thankful for in my life and one of my biggest blessings is the friendship and shelter this village provides me. It is with much gratitude when I think of each one of you.

DS21 has his last final today and then off for 3 weeks. DH is off for two weeks after the 20th, so I'm looking forward to having the "guys" around for some fun and relaxation. We have a few day trips planned and lots of nothing in-between - yay!
