Kathryn - You and/or DH are anything except boring! I'm trying to remember the word DGS16 used to describe you and DH. ....thinking.....hopefully it will come to me in a bit. I just remember that he thought both of you were fascinating. I did (do) too!
Gifts are all wrapped. DMIL came by for a visit. Talked on phone with DMom and enjoyed a long phone visit with DBrother. Also been txt'ing with DGS16 and DGS18 most of the afternoon.
MPB is back in business! It is above freezing (as of 1:30 this afternoon) and all equipment repairs are done.
A 14 lb ham is in the oven. It should finish baking in a couple hours. I intended to bake a birthday cake when the ham came out, but I might wait to do the cake. It would be easy to do in early morning when there is less chance of falling from balls and feet bouncing on the floor.

Re: Christmas Eve Tuesday
I was able to walk with a friend that helped to relieve stress. She reminded me about the full moon this week that might explain some things. She got a kindle and new computer. She is going to candle lite service. Wanted to know which one we were going to can't really with fam. Coming over. Oh well hoping we can do that another time.
Tky. Stuffing, gravy, & deviled eggs are done now.
Dd called and is getting the olives so that will help.
H. Forgot to check with his bro. He is watching about guns on utube something they used to do was "talk guns" when we were there for holidays, it used to irritate me to no end bc for me the focus was diff. For the season. I guess I just learned to understand that I could appreciate the differences in our fam. We enjoyed a cowboy Christmas show on PBS last weekend.

Nancy, I know how frustrating diverting funds can be. Smiling at the idea of bribing the chickens when you could use a couple more eggs quick! LOL!
Lilac, I hope your bs is level and you feel well.
Dd15 is rolling her eyes at the concept of Ken in Canada as boring. She and I have decided that it is probably the person who wrote the survey who's boring. REALLY interesting people are still interesting even when they didn't acquire many things lately, says dd. Does one of the check-off boxes questions whether phone service was satisfactory recently, hopefully with a line for explanation? Then Ken in Canada could write in, "Completely lost phone service for days. Too high in Peruvian mountains."

Re: Christmas Eve Tuesday
Hi, Everyone!
We just had dinner, I'm doing laundry, and am writing letters, to reply to cards, which came today. I dumped all the trash, cleaned some toilets, and emptied the DW. DH's truck door's spring isn't working, so he opens his driver's side door and it won't CLOSE!
So he's temporarily using a screw driver to "fix" it so he can close it. He went to his buddy's house, but he wasn't home. His buddy is very mechanical, has a shop, tons of tools, fixes and refurbishes cars/trucks for $ or for himself. DH will wait until after Christmas to pop up there, to see if his buddy has the spring he needs.... or it's off to the dealership's shop he goes.
I want to finish letters/laundry tonight, clean the kitchen granite 12-inch tiles, and I've done the table already and placemats, too. We don't know if DD is coming tomorrow or not. It depends on her health and how tired she is. I hope she'll be able to come, but if not, am hoping she has a dfriend to come over to spend the day with her. I'd hate seeing her alone, since her dson's at his dad's place/family for Christmas Day.
I plan on reading this evening, some more, too. I might take a break from letter-writing to complete it tomorrow morning or evening, before DD comes (if she comes) and after she leaves (if she comes.)
It's fun to hear from folks I'd lost contact with for several months. Everyone gets busy.
Happy Merry Christmas Eve, Everyone.

Re: Christmas Eve Tuesday
Service was a complete (well, almost complete) success.
CM took a picture of me at the end of it and I've posted it here:
http://shesorganized.net/phpbb/viewtopi ... =15&t=3520
I'm on the top of the world right now.
Ds called and left a message and then called again when my computer showed up online after I got home. He's on Bondi beach but the weather is less than optimal and apparently the water is cold. I'm sure that's a relative viewpoint, the water there is certainly warmer than the water here!
BTW: the tortiere was very tasty so I've managed to succeed in two new things today!

Re: Christmas Eve Tuesday
Kathryn, You looked festive in your red blazer. Very nice for Christmas Eve. I liked what you were wearing. The photo is beautiful how it shows the crowd, too.
I put away the socks and underwear, wrote one card/letter, got out Christmas Day clothes, washed the kitchen counters, am drying dark clothes and changes some hand towels, and now I'm washing a load of towels and facecloths. It's my last load.
Phone's ringing! It's DD! Gotta go!
P. S. DD is feeling much better.
She's decided to come down after all tomorrow. She's bringing me a box of books, too. We loan books back and forth. Sort of a lending library between the 2 of us. The dark clothes are still drying, I finished another card/letter and have 1 to go. Then, I'll try to answer snail mail I owe. I'd love to finish it up tonight, so I can just enjoy the day tomorrow, perhaps crochet while chatting with DH and DD.
I told my shut-in dfriend, who can no longer crochet, due to memory problems, how I'd crochet her some yellow dishcloths to match her kitchen. I visit her about once every 6 - 7 weeks, to look in on her, be her dfriend, and keep her company and to stimulate her mind. She has a caretaker, too, for 3 hours a day. She has a DH, too, who's very helpful.
I guess I'll say goodnight and wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS tomorrow!

Re: Christmas Eve Tuesday
It's 9:34 p.m. Pacific Time, DH is vacuuming, the towels (last load/empty laundry basket)
are drying, I just dust mopped all the wood floors and our walk-in closet. I dusted the house a few days ago, so won't "worry" about re-dusting it now. There's nothing to do now, trash is dumped, so tomorrow morning we'll scrub toilets again, and DH will roast a pork roast.
I need
to get out the yellow Peaches 'n' Creme yarn/100% kitchen cotton yarn, to make dneighbor-friend's dishcloths. I read to never go into anyone's home without taking a gift or something, even a small item or a single flower. It also said it was karma and would come back to bless you when you bless others. I don't think they meant, oh goody-goody, if I give something I GET something! I think they meant that true blessings given from the heart bless us, by our giving and it comes around again. I believe it's a good thing to do.
DD will probably bring down the last infinity scarf I made her, because I told her I read the pattern wrong and didn't edge it like I should have. It's just an easy-to-do slip stitch, so I'll do that while we chat, too. DD is feeling much better, too. ♥ We'll run the DW in the morning, too, before DD arrives. She's due about noon. I'm on my way to write 1 letter to a dfriend who must've moved because her address is different now. So this must be why I hadn't heard from her for awhile. She was busy moving and getting settled in. First things first: I need to get the yellow cotton yarn out with the pattern.
It's nice to face a holiday with all our work done.
