When I had the pleasure of meeting MT in person, 1 1/2 years ago, I am almost certain that she mentioned this year would be their 50th anniversary.

And -- so glad to hear from you (((MT))), but sorry you're having a sad/down time. However, I would say WTG on the reading, and taking cookies to neighbor. I wish I could get dmom to get out and do more for others; I think it would help HER so much -- and it is the exact advice she has given me in times of depression before. * sigh * So easy to advise others, so hard to follow one's own advice.

Lilac -- dh did NOT like Saving Mr. Banks. However, my dbro (age 42) LOVED it. So, it's just according to individual taste. DH just did not like Emma Thompson/P.L. Travers' personality at all. OTOH, dbro is not a Mary Poppins fan, but IS a Disney fan. And dbro is a musician, so like me, he enjoyed watching the Sherman brothers create their songs, as well as the story behind the story. I just loved it. I could thoroughly enjoy going back tomorrow to see it a 3rd time if dh wouldn't think I was a nut.

One more thing about dmom. I forgot to tell y'all -- she said when she went out to the restroom, she forgot to check the # of the theater we were in -- 14-theater complex. So she had to ask one of the workers which one she was supposed to be in. ALSO, she was slightly dizzy and said the loudness of the sound system sorta bothered her. Now this is a woman who thinks she is going to a George Strait concert with me??? Good grief. Maybe since she has found out the concert is going to create about a 10-hour day, she will back off. (Need to get into town before the Friday afternoon traffic gets horrible, will not get home until after midnight. 2+ hours' drive each way.)

so hot today - took a break under the trees and started a book ddog explores some - long rope trailing - with me untangling many times. There is a lot to do down there. wire netting tangle left by fencing people. lots of weed trees large and small need cutting out. I'll need to get a habit of doing some things down there. Dog needs supervision as the fence is not secure (1) to the ground with neighbours A and B, and (2) has a zig zag bit with no fence in the zag. - to neighbour B and (3) an washed out of place bit with neighbour C.

Out tonight. bought mac cas - it was not what i thought I'd ordered and doubt it was what I had at another store. I also doubt its gluten free status. meeting
storm is rumbling around for at least an hour and not producing any rain. Grass is crispy dry.

need to get to those dishes atm.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY dear Mr & Mrs MT!! Wanted to at least get that done this morning. And I never got here to wish Mr & Mrs Norma the same yesterday.

I worked quite a bit on annual reports yesterday, but had a difficult time getting things to format the way I wanted them. THEN when I opened the minutes from last year's annual meeting!!!!! Lo' and behold it was a whole page of icons from SOMEWHERE! Probably from when I lost everything on my computer in October. Think I can still get the notes from an old email -at least I supremely hope so!

Been awake since 5:37 but am just getting around. I'm almost s2s -just no shoes & stockings yet. Bed's made & meds done.

Raining out but much better than the snow that's coming once again up north.

DGS9 should have received his Christmas present from us yesterday. Hoping it's really something he'll like and use. Remains to be seen.

I'm off to breakfast land. Trying to watch it -I've been at my all time high in weight and that's definitely NOT GOOD!

Thanks to Kathryn, I knew the answer to one of our Trivia questions Thursday night. What is the holiday following Christmas traditionally called -Boxing Day. I'd never really heard it until Kathryn mentioned it most every year. Another question I had the answer to was what the part of a "tractor" is called where the trailer hitches on. I immediately said, "5th Wheel". No one believed me and they put down a different answer -wrong. Then they all apologized to me. DD and I usually go Thursday nights with some of her co-workers. It's good for her.

Have changed the mouse features on my laptop over to left handed to see if that will help me any. Am typing without the splint right now because I took it off to wash my hands and still need to s2s so didn't want to put it on. Actually, I might leave it off until after church.

I know my dh would have liked Saving Mr. Banks but it isn't for everyone. More cerebral than action based. Sad story. Really a chick-flick but some men will like one or two of those a year so Lilac will have to decide what her dh is like.

For me it is the final services of 2013. I've done far more than I ever expected when starting the year, over 30. My goal when graduating was 10 per year! I did that many in December... no wonder I'm exhausted.

After today, I don't work again until the last week of February.

HAPPY 50th Anniversary MT and Mr MT!
I am happy to be able to post my tablet got a glictch in it and would not work until after the battery ran down and it shut it self off and I plugged in the cord got it recharged. Sigh not fun thinking about being off line! I might need to consider syncing up th e blue tooth with the tv and the getting on line here some thing I have not done.

I was up just before 8 to say goodbye to dh and Z as they got on the road for D.C. Ds will fly home next Sat, then back to school next Sunday. DD's classes don't start until Jan 8 so she will be home a little longer.

Dh and I have been mentally moving furniture around in our not-so-great room. I am going to follow up with a neighbor to look at his built ins and get the contact info for the person who built theirs.

We've been deliberating between a trip to IKEA in ATL or a movie this afternoon, then allergist dfriend invited us to go to brunch at CC with his family, so I think we've decided on brunch then the movie. Last night was enjoyable - as much as I fuss about my dh at times, he really is very thoughtful and it was great taking recent widow friend out. I think she enjoyed it - said first evening out since dh passed away and grown son (a little younger than us-lives out of town) texted us this morning to thank us and let us know how much she enjoyed it.

Going to work on a.m. routine et al. Need to walk ddogs and we're meeting at 12:45 for brunch.

The last few days here have been cloudy, today it has been raining, finally. We need it as everything is dry.

Between yesterday and today I've done weekly chores. We're not tired of the holiday decorations yet; we didn't put too much out this year and will probably wait till next weekend to put it away.

This afternoon dfam#2 is coming. Ddil may bring a ham, but if she doesn't we have enough with a turkey breast, macaroni salad, corn casserole, baked beans and buns if anyone prefers a sandwich. I was just thinking of Harriet's two big dinners in one day - that is a lot of cooking in a short time!

I've got a few more things to do before company gets here, better go before I get distracted again.

Thank you for my anniversary greetings. (30th year for us.) Happy Anniversary to MT and Mr. MT. I was glad to hear you had checked in. We were concerned about you. We - Cowinkie and Sweetie, Cowinkie's son and our friends from Vancouver that I went through school with - all went to the same Golf Resort we went to on Christmas Day for Brunch this morning. We have found our new favorite place. We had a wonderful time! The only sad part was saying goodbye to Cowinkie's son. He goes home tomorrow night. He is a great guy and we had some great conversations. I think we won't get to see him next year as he will be with his Dad for Christmas. More's the pity.

Next big thing to look forward to is Sweetie's birthday and our friend George's birthday. And then our dd from San Jose flies in for a long weekend. I can hardly wait. We love celebrating things here. DD will be taken to the Golf resort Brunch.

Our favorite team - SF 49ers -is here in the valley to play the Phoenix Cardinals today. GO 49ers!
