Trissie, I had no idea there were so many variations of peonies! What a lovely week! I have a white one that is a direct descendant of the one that was in my grandmother's yard when mother was growing up (born 1924) a century ago.
Bama, it is certainly the season for double coated dogs to shed profuse clumps
helia, sounds like a great start to the day
Kittykatt, I hope you get to enjoy your gardening today, and daily church too.
Laurlind, you will enjoy being creative with all that new yarn!
Kitkat, I hope a long night sleep gives you good energy for the day 😊

I went to bed early last night, woke up about 330, but got back to sleep in about 15 minutes. I'm not used to being awake at all during the night.
Today I'm at mother's house, tossing things into recycling, getting ready for dsis3 and hubby to arrive this evening. Waiting for the gas company to come (between 8-4 is the "scheduled" time) to check the air conditioner. It's working fine, but they clean out winter debris and check a couple other things as part of Mom's plan.
Electrician came and hooked up the new attic vent fan wires after the hail damage and new shingles.

I'll be doing phone rounds with the medical team for dfBS, and need to make a call before that.

Waving to all!

Totally skippable rant ---
I hate family drama! SIL scheduled DFIL's funeral (urn placement) and family gathering (large dinner reservations) for a time totally not doable for me and our kids (5pm on a schoolnight 2 hours away from our house), but convenient for all the local cousins and their wives/husbands who were invited. When DH told her the time does not work for me, she brushed him off with a "it's no big deal, if she wants to pay her respect, she can stop by the cemetary anytime!" I think it is a pretty big deal that my kids get a chance to say goodbye to their grandfather. And I also think it's a pretty big deal that she bullies him in this way and he lets her, when the cost is born by me and our children. And quite frankly, I believe she wants me out of the picture, because she wants to cheat DH out of his share of inheritance and knows I wouldn't be bullied. So, it got pretty ugly, because at this point, it's up to DH to grow a spine and decide who he is loyal to.
Anyway, he finally put his foot down and told her that either it's at a time when his family can attend, or he's not attending at all, and suddenly, it was really easy to reschedule? Ugh! It's totally intentional on her side, and I just don't know why she's playing this game. Yes, she make aim to break his marriage, but in that case, he will never stop blaming her for it, so she loses either way!
I don't want to go, but now I have to. More precisely, I don't ever want to talk to her again and I don't know if I can manage to be civil to her. Oh well.
---end of skippable rant

Oh trissie -((()))
I went to many functions where not a word was spoken between my SILs and me...
Right or wrong it's tough. One thing I learned along the way: the kids were watching. Focus on the event- not on her.

Ugh, trissie. Good for dh for putting his foot down - although, I'm sorry that means you'll have to be at the same event as her.
Good luck with the work at dmom's place, Gma. Nice dsis3 is coming!
Sounds like a nice breakfast with grands, kitkat.
Lauralind, ds, F, and baby I arrive tonight. Their plane lands around 6:40 pm, and we'll go pick them up. They are also staying with us, so we need to get that room ready for them - the play room. It's in the worst shape of all the rooms in the house so will take some time.
It's nice to hear of a church being compassionate to people in need, Kitty. I hope the man gets the help he needs.

Dh is here working on the play room, which is my next todo. I just spend a while editing dd30's bulletin, which had a lot of errors in it.

Next:
- finish tidying the play room
- dust play room surfaces
- set up and make bed - play room

Later:
- make MBR bed
- make grocery list for Kroger
- lists in notebook
- tidy MBR; we moved a bunch of stuff from the guest room into that room
- probably run dw; we'll likely be running it 2x/ day with houseguests
- unload dw later
- lights: fold and pa
- list for Kroger
- Kroger
- put everything away
- play room: tidy
- play room: wipe down surfaces
- play room: set up sofa bed; make bed
- play room: set up pack and play crib
- finish tidying printer cupboard - put away papers
- maybe, go to the gym - stair stepper/ inclined walking
- dinner: curried lentils, rice, diced ham on the side, roasted cauliflower + other veggies?
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps
- progress on fun quiz about dd30
- go for a walk?
- other things?
- update goodreads?

TaDas!
- up; weighed self
- coffee with dniece; helped her get some toast
- s2s and self care
- 8 - 8:30 WW meeting
- called pharmacy - they weren't open yet
- reclaimed kitchen
- email deletions + weather website
- called pharmacy again; more texts = Rx is ready!
- dusted a bit in living room - pollen is coming in through the windows; decluttered magazines
- tidied papers by the printer
- went through recipe for tonight; added to grocery list
- 11-12 payroll: CA ci meeting with AC - we had a lot to do  now I have more to do
- lunch
- after lunch clean up
- edited bulletin for dd30

Good afternoon!

KitKat, what a nice memory of your mom and peonies you shared yesterday. My dmil was like that, she could root a stick and it would grow.

Helia, hope you’re enjoying family time. How nice that dh is helping with the work load.

(((Trissie))) family seems to equal drama sometimes, I’m sorry you bear the brunt of sil’s plotting.

GMA, I hope the time at your moms is pleasant for you, I tend to get stuck so can only dc a little at a time. Prayers for your df.

Laura, what fun to watch your garden grow.

Kittykatt, what a scary time for the chap who found your church. I hope he gets help and is able to recover from this situation.

Lann, hope all is well. Didn’t see a post but I can’t scan any further.

Dogged, hope you pop in sometime.

I’m dragging my feet bc I know nothing is imperative. Bad me. Going to knock out dailies so I can mow some.

Hello, everyone!

(((Trissie))) That is so hard to have to deal with. But at least the DKids will now have a chance to say goodbye to their grandfather, and then hopefully you won't have to see SIL again.

Bama, I work better if I have a target or a goal to meet, otherwise I can easily get distracted or succumb to IGAD syndrome.

Gma, how nice DSis #3 is coming to stay at you DMum's house.

KitKat, that is very good advice.to concentrate on the event.

Helia, how lovely that you'll very soon be seeing DBaby I (and her family!) again.

Waitrose were late this evening ( there were horrendous traffic tailbacks due to an accident.on one of the main roads. So I cooked supper while we were waiting, just using what I had to hand, and what was to have been tonight's supper will do for tomorrow. The frock are now unpacked and PA, and the kitties have also had their supper. Oh, and the Girls have both had their mani-pedi, so aren't speaking to me right now!

I wish I was watching it grow. I think there's a couple things popping up now. The cats are not helping and the weather finally got a bit warmer. Was deciding if I have to resend some stuff. Hope not.

I am glad dh said something trissie. How unfair to pick such a time. Glad it's straightened out.

We went to town. Some insurance stuff and a couple groceries. We were going to wash the car but it's closed... then dad was here for a bit. He's found himself president of a seniors group... so good for him.. once he gets the initial start up done and finished emailing and making contracts etc. We end up helping more than we signed up for. We didn't πŸ˜†.

Oh well. Ds is now covered in insurance to learn to drive on our vehicles. Everything is redone for the year. Had lunch.

Next up. I'm with helian. Dad's dog was here and now I really do have incentive to clean my rugs. She's pad trained at home but here she often leaves a mess behind . Making coffee. Sweep floors vacuum and do a quick shampoo.

Pet pee troubles? I have found my people!

Dailies got done, then I filled the mower with gas and proceeded to ride, ride, ride. For around 3 hours. Until I hit something and the blades won’t turn now. Finished most of the yard so I’m calling it good. Repairs will be another day. Or a call to the company got a tune up and see what they can find. Cooling off inside, then I need to shower and we are going out to Taco Mama for nachos. Yummmm.
