Home from meeting and walk through cemetery. The big tree that fell is gone, other tree work done and the trimming, cleaning up, etc. by the mowing people done.

Need to do follow up, still trying to get the electric outlet at the pole there working. Just texted again on it. A well connected member of the cemetery board is getting a company he works with a lot to check it, but perhaps he's forgotten? I'm trying not to take on everything at one time, but also need a locksmith there for the mausoleum. Might wait until next week.

I need to get our supper going. Chicken into a marinade to grill, oven heating for a baked sweet potato, will also make a spinach salad. I should also bag up our glass to take for recycling tomorrow or Thursday.

Nancy, so nice to hear you are going to have created comfy PJs - how satisfying is that!

A long stretch of machine quilting done here today, lots of swoops but basically from point A to point B. There is another matching one to do, but I'm stopping that for today to save my back. I won't mark it since I am already sure I won't sew it today and don't need the worry that it will fade. If I do any other work on this today, I'll try to find a different step to work on, different position.

Twins', about saving backs, glad to hear you feel aligned and tuned up. Cool that a DNA match helped you figure out a puzzle.

I've done a great deal of recycling work today. Whew.

Well...welll....welll...
two steps forward and one step back dance is happening here.

We lost power this afternoon but the whole house generator didn't automatically kick in. I was in the garden and unaware we had lost power. When I walked back into the house, DH was trying to find the breaker box. The generator has never failed to automatically come on so I wondered if DH had done something while I was outside. Thankfully he didn't find the breaker boxes and had forgotten that we had a generator. ANYway, DS17 arrived home and we started to troubleshoot which involved finding the key to the generator and then manually turning it on. It didn't sound right so we turned it back off. Tomorrow I'll contact someone to come do maintenance on the generator.

Thankfully it was only 85F today so being without a/c didn't bother us. Eventually the electricity was restored but now our 3 kitchen lights won't work. REALLY?! So adding to the ToDo list to select new kitchen light fixtures and contact electrician to come install them.

The body shop that is going to replace the bumper on the 2025 pickup (from hitting a deer) called because the VIN information they scanned on the door to order the paint was wrong. HUH? The door VIN said it was a different model truck and silver in color (the pickup is blue). The VIN on the dash is correct. We bought this vehicle brand new with about 20 miles on it from dealership so this makes no sense. DS17 took the pickup to dealership and talked to the top fella there. He said it was highly unusual for this to happen and wants to investigate it with the factory. They want us to bring the pickup in and let them get VIN from the frame (underneath).

Hellowwwwww. 5 things going wrong in a 2 hour period is a big much. Thankfully they fall into the category of frustrating and not catastrophic.

If someone has a really harsh accent, they would ask if I was from "Trawn-ah" Where I live now, the long-timers out here think that any time there is a crime of any type, it's automatically someone from Toronto, so I don't admit to being born there. Dh knows I was born there, but he was also born there, although his parents didn't live there at the time. One of the things dh's mom won't explain.

Sigh... The Blue Jays lost in extra innings. The game took a lot longer than usual. Lots of reasons why. Oh well...

there is no place to eat out where GF grandparents live. It is 1.5 hour drive to the nearest WMart and eating establishment.

LadyM, something tells me this will not be a plus for the grandparents' location. I know you want him and his gf to make the decision on their own, but I am hoping he stays close to YOU & LordM!!!

So -- ta-da -- I have applied for the cash back credit card and spoke to (what sounded like) a nice young man in New Jersey. It is always sooo nice to have customer support that one can understand!

Otherwise today, I slept extra late, just because I could and then went to the post office, stopped at the gas station for pizza, and I've eaten a lot of junk while on the internet looking at the card options and clearing out junk emails. I really need to unsubscribe to each of these things, but it is so easy to just delete in bulk so I forget that a LOT of them are no longer of interest to me! They were dh's and I don't take time to read them anymore. He put our email on all kinds of mailing lists.

* Ha * I just forgot about this in the middle of it and it has been sitting here all afternoon. I went outside and sat in the shade, nice breeze blowing, low humidity for a change... I guess I could say TA-DA for "self-care." Good night, all. I am going to get a shower and get in bed, plan to be back in my yoga routine tomorrow.
