Re: Tried and True: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!!
I'm starting the day "tired". Dh had a sugar low of 2.9 at 5 a.m. In less than 30 minutes he was up to 7.6 thanks to some orange juice and 3 pieces of chocolate. He went back to bed at that point. Guess who couldn't sleep. I did have a pity party for one after he went back to bed.
I have taken out the bathroom garbage and cleaned 1 litter box. Dh has had his morning meds.
After the PSW leaves I need to go to Walmart.
The sun is shining and there is no rain in the forecast today.

((Cathy)) Do come in here and share your party with us whenever it would help, no matter what kind of party. So glad to hear you two handled the low well. It's hard to get back to sleep when you have had to let some adrenaline flow to work your way back to an even keel.
Twins'
the tally technique. When you enjoyed time at home upstairs instead of out and about, did you become creative?
Though I wasn't all that well-rested, I was up early-ish by 6, and I guess it's just because the mornings come so early right now, you have the feeling it's later in the day when you look out the window. I spiffed the kitchen to readiness for the grocery order that was to arrive by 7.
The groceries all put away now and a kiwi enjoyed for first breakfast.
HRH is making a breakfast I don't enjoy - a potato thing - and I guess I'll wait until he's finished and have mine. I don't want to get in his way in the kitchen.
It's trash and recycling day.
Today I hope to sew some, garden some. The sewing machine is set up for the next parts of quilting this long project.
Ds' children will likely be over at some point. I really need ds to weed-trim, but hate to mention it because yesterday he worked on the tractor. That's another reason I expect to see his family - owe him money for a battery, I think.

Re: Tried and True: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
Good morning
I am ready to embrace today and am looking forward to it. I get to do most all the things I enjoy with none of the things that I dread.
We have an experiment going on in our home with a local radio station playing nonstop. When i grew up, we didn't have a TV in the home but we had a local radio station playing music and talking about upcoming local events. I sometimes tell our digital devices to play local radio station but the devices are used for other purposes so the radio station gets OBE. DH and I use headphones when watching anything involving a screen so the house is usually quiet. ANYway, we are giving an old fashion radio playing local station a try.
The #1 item on my to-do list for months has been getting 2025 taxes filed. It feels good to FINALLY get it done. We have two refund checked headed our way now. Our CPA advised us on changes headed our way over the next 2 years and his thoughts on changing our amount being held. I so appreciate him and dread when he stops doing our taxes. He quit taking new customers years ago and keeps encouraging current customers to find a different CPA. I'm sure he means all the other customers and not us.

** Daily LOL moved from washer to dryer
** Purple bucket
** harvest tomatoes, peppers, strawberries

Reviewing the receipt from picking up DH meds yesterday. ASTONISHING is all I can say.
The listed price of his 3 prescriptions was
$1857.30
$1250.00
$51.21
Our cost? zero. Not one penny!
I know changes have been made recently to bring drug prices down in the states but WOW!
BRAVO for whoever or whatever caused this to happen. This is no way a political message but just celebrating the relief in my pocketbook.
TaDa -
** those 3 next up things accomplished
** mowed with bagger to add to compost pile.
** prepared & ate breakfast
next UP -
** process all the peppers that are patiently waiting
** make potato salad
** daily LOL out of dryer, hung up and PA
Conversation with DS17 as he was trying to determine how much their upcoming trip is going to cost. He estimates $300 for gas. I reminded him to include $$ for eating out. His reply - there is no place to eat out where GF grandparents live. It is 1.5 hour drive to the nearest WMart and eating establishment.

Re: Tried and True: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
Ta da! Up at a reasonable time and into clothes and thinking I have a bit more energy today.
I have body work at 10, and then a meeting at temple with the prez of temple at 3 p.m. Need to write my agenda for that meeting, need to talk about progress of the GIS mapping program and when it's considered "complete" and difficulty using it right now. Also going forward we need a treasurer instead of me. And revision of our Cemetery rules/bylaws at some point. And makeup of the cemetery board too... (Too late to do anything about that for this year unless we add a board member that will be treasurer.)
Need to leave in a minute, not done with a.m. routine but I did go online and check all the balances for which I'm responsible. Every Tuesday. So there's a nice Ta Da!
Dog is walked too.
Whoops, did not get this submitted earlier!

Nancy, I was also up before the alarm today. Same yesterday! The early light gets me awake, I think. Oh, same with Harriet.
Back from body work, feeling aligned and tuned up.
Harriet, I went down a rabbit hole yesterday with a related family. No real reason to, except that someone had made an edit to their tree at FamilySearch so I did a little more documenting the family. I found the connection through a DNA match years ago - a brother of my great great grandmother fathered children at 55 and 57, and I had a DNA match to a descendant. So that answered the question of what happened to him.
So happy for you that the tax return isn't hanging over you, LadyM. It feels good to have it done and gone, I know. I like your work in threes...
Cathy, sorry your sleep was interrupted. Hoping you can get a nap in today.
I feel like everytime I sit down and think I'm adding stuff to my to-dos. Of course, being away does that. I just looked at my calendar for the last month and I was away (travel days and away days) thirteen days since 24 May, when I left for Fort Wayne. So it's understandable. DH asked this a.m. if I wanted to invite my cousins (this is dcousin Jeanne's three children, spouses and children in town) over the July 4th long weekend. We're supposedly having houseguests from 6 July to 9 so I said no. We may try it the 11th or 12th of July.

Re: Tried and True: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
After dh's PSW left dh asked if I could go to Costco for his underwear. There are still15 in the package, but I just went any way. Saves me going in there tomorrow I guess.
I also went and picked up more potatoes, eggs and orange juice. I'm not going to complain about how much he is drinking as he obviously needs it. I also found the chocolate bars he wanted. (Plain milk chocolate ones.) Again, I won't complain because he needs sugar.
There is a baseball game at 4. Dh also asked for spaghetti and meat sauce for supper, so I need to get started on the sauce by 3:30/ I can go to bed earlier tonight. I was up until almost 11 last night watching another baseball game, which we (Toronto) won. I was born in Toronto and lived there until I was almost 13.

Re: Tried and True: Ta Da Tuesday PWYC
Decluttering is not easy especially when I consider just leaving everything the way it is. It is not hurting anything so why go through the ARGHhhhh of decluttering? Because one day I won't be able to do this and then it will be too late. Because someday I want to move to a smaller place and all this STUFF can't come with us. Because decluttering makes me feel lighter and is a gift to the following generations to not have to deal with my STUFF. These are the type of conversations I have with myself.....as I declutter.
The amount of markers, pens and pencils we have is bordering on embarrassing. I wasn't aware we had this many until I gathered them into one spot. I went through each marker & pen to make sure they worked and tossed the ones that didn't. I set a goal to get rid of 75% of them while reminding myself that school will be starting soon for some families and these pens/markers/pencils could be put to use instead of sitting in my desk drawer not being used.
End result - 3 gallon ziplock bags of pens/markers/pencils are ready to leave our home to be donated. It was a PITA to do but it makes me happy to see the end result.
Also found 3 handheld paper hole punches so 2 are leaving the house. We had 2 big paper hole punchers so I'm keeping the smallest and sending the big one to find a new home and become useful somewhere else. Along with extra staplers and staples.
Progress in baby steps. Accomplishing small things repeatedly.

I found a winter movie to enjoy while it's hot out.
Got the can back in from the road.
Mail has been processed.
Ddoggo is napping.
I may knit 3 more rows in a bit when I"m done with my checking ins.
