Happy 4th of July to our American friends!

Thank you for starting us off, trissie. Have a safe trip and a wonderful holiday.

Hooray for hot water, Kittykatt!

(((FrenchFly))) I'm sorry that you didn't get the job. It sounds like a good company where they actually followed up with you and gave you an explanation. I wish that I were better at disengaging my feelings from situations, because you definitely take away a lot of their power to make you miserable when you can just disengage the feelings.
If I saw that rugby team coming at me, I would be tempted to just give them the ball.

Have a happy and safe trip, helia! I hope that the weather is kind to you.

Hi, L.Ann. It looks like the weather is not being kind to you. I hope that you can avoid the heat.--ah, I see that you have cancelled the outdoor walk. Very wise.

FrenchFly, I'm curious about what you put in your no-meat shepherd's pie. With the cost of meat as it is, I'm open to learning new things.

I am at the end of Page 1. It's time to negotiate with Germane for the use of the bathroom.

Saturday
Went to bed early
Startled out of sleep by Germane clanging around behind the air conditioner. I have learned that this sound is an emergency, as she might knock the air conditioner’s drain hose out of position. She has learned that she can scramble me out of bed by clanging around back there. Her motivation is that she peed on her pee pads and I, being asleep, failed to provide praise and treats.
Found that Germane not only moved the hose, but pushed it right off of the drip tray and off of the linoleum. She must have done that some time ago, as the pee pad I put back there was bulging from all that it had absorbed.
Made a temporary fix
Gave Germane her treat for using her pee pad
Went back to bed
Made the strategic error of listening to short reels instead of an audiobook. They turned out to be interesting, so took much longer to get to sleep.
Kept waking up too hot, even though the air conditioner was running. Drained the air conditioner often, drank water, and listened to too many reels
Finally turned down the target temperature for the air conditioner to cool the air more around 5:00 am. Slept
Changed Germane’s pee pads
Cleaned up behind air conditioner and drained it
Heart pill for Germane
Folded dry laundry
FACE: updated budget sheet
Put away dry dishes
Got screwdriver and loosened lid handle to let the water drain out
Put away dry tshirts and brought out more to finish drying
