We had a lovely morning with dd27, watching our usual service and part of another, actually.

I baked 3 tiers of cake with a tweak to the recipe, but not much. I was concerned I left it in the oven a minute or two too long, but it did need to stand up to a very moist filling, so about the best I could do. Dd made 6 large strawberry rosette/blooms to top the cake, enough outer slices for a ring at the base and the rest into chopped berries to add on the first 2 layers. I whipped the cream cheese mixture, then the cream lemon mixture and folded those just barely together. We assembled carefully and dd pretty much iced by herself while I cleaned up.

Over to ddolder's with presents, cake, so much fun to get together with all those vivacious people and vivacious grand-dog. The cake stood up perfectly for slicing. Presents were fun. Dd27 got all the kids outside for photos using her film camera, so she can do some artsy filters. Dsonil won the main party game, edging out DangerBoy. Dgrand-dog was a wiggle worm, wagging every bit of her body in delight that her favorite people were all together, so funny.

Ddolder sent us home with her Cherokee heirloom tomatoes, which have finally ripened. Interested in a sandwich with them.

No surprise, I napped.

Tomorrow, the day revolves around a dr's appt at a distance, plus bloodwork. I'll be glad when that is over, but have to go back Thurs for the monthly inhaled med.

Get well soon to blessed's dmother.

Cathy, I hope the day brightened some for you. I think a reset with a housecleaning service is a smart idea.

I'll be trying to find out what news is forthcoming from the attempts that were to be done overnight, and I assume heading for improvement. I do notice that the Fun and Games thread has been humming with activity, which is encouraging - maybe things will be going more smoothly.

Harriet, I hope you'll see this. Yesterday (Sunday) I was still having some issues navigating, but if I hit "refresh" a few times, it cleared. Today (Monday, 7.30 am BST) so far I've been able to navigate without any problems. :D Thank you for all do to keep this site running for us all.
