I had a nap, even though I didn't realize that I actually slept. When dh told me that there had been thunder and lightning and rain and I saw that our patio had been wet, I accepted the fact that I must have slept.

I also got a bit of cross stitching done.

I don't have to cook today. I asked dh what he wanted and I mentioned Indian food place having a lunch special so I went and picked that up. We had a bit for lunch and we will finish it for supper. No dirty pots, pans or plates. I enjoyed a local peach a while ago. It was so good.

DD called and we had a good laugh over some inside inside story stuff.
Both had to charge up out phones.
I read a couple of sections in a book I did not like but it's better timing now
for me as it's on some of the stuff I"m interested in this month. It was a timing thing.

Hi Harriet! Dh likes coconut curry chicken. I like butter chicken. We both love pakora, aloo gobi, naan bread, rice and they have a sweet dessert in a sauce that has honey in it. We can't remember the name, but they are little balls of baked dough. Dh loves a lot of other dishes that are spicy. (His second wife was from India.)

Supper has been thoroughly enjoyed and the take out containers are in the garbage can. Thankfully tomorrow is garbage day.

Well, the only thing wonderful about my Wednesday was that I rested. I have literally done nothing except lie in bed, watch tv, sleep and eat today. And probably sleep was the winner of the activities. I did my daily Bible reading and answered a text from the church secretary. She needed someone to sign checks. Fortunately, the other woman answered before me!
This busy, wonderful (thank you, blessed) Nana WAS exhausted.

I did cuop quickly, so I probably missed a lot, but yes, Cathy -- vo-ag is short for vocational agriculture. When DS was in 8th grade, one of his friends caught himself on fire with a welding torch (I think). I am hoping DGS has made the right choice -- I guess eyestrain would be the only danger in computer science.
I haven't talked to DS or either of the grands since school was out -- DGS probably hasn't been home long from football. It's 5:00 pm and yesterday, he didn't get out of practice till 5:00, but I thought today might be earlier since it was the first day of school. In my experience, the first day of school is exhausting for everyone.

(((LadyM))) I'm so glad LordM is doing better! I can't imagine how exhausting this is for you, and others, like Rose and Cathy, and blessed, who have the caregiver duty 24/7. When the one you are caring for is under your own roof, you don't have the luxury of taking a day to sleep and lie in bed. And when it's the one who you depended on to carry half the load of that roof and all that goes on under it -- well, I know how that can be.
And blessed -- at least with my days and nights mixed up, I can entertain myself! Will your dmom watch tv in the night when she is awake?

Harriet, a man here in town (a state trooper, actually) is apparently making quite a side business for himself by 3-D printing. He does keychains and backpack hangtags, etc, some other small things -- maybe drink holders? Anyway -- your dgd might make a million on this new hobby.
A few years ago, the middle school girls here were decorating lockers and it was a big deal, but DGD didn't think that was still a "thing" here. She may have learned differently today.
I do dread the day when my dgrands are far from home -- although more and more, I believe DGS will stay close by -- we have a junior college in Next Town and three four-year colleges within an hour or so.

We had some rain and thunder too. I heard it, got an alert on the phone, went back to sleep.

Nancy -- that was my experience with the shooting stars -- I'm not sure I saw any. I might have been too "early" but it was nice sitting out there, listening to the night sounds and watching the sky. I used to want to sleep outside but now I'm too nervous about snakes and bugs.

I've probably left out The Most Important Person, but this is as far as topic review takes me. I've got to go to the post office, the bank, and get myself something for supper. I've avoided the steak house while I was feeding three of us, but I would really like a hamburger steak. So I may call that in and go pick it up for my supper.
I promise to do better tomorrow -- I just had to have a day of rest and recuperation after being "on" since last week.

I have gotten used to helper not coming in the house until 8:45 and still getting paid from 8:30 -not a big deal but now she is leaving at 4:45 instead of 5 pm (she gets paid until 6 pm). I think i'm going to have to talk to her about only getting paid except for the actual time she is here. she doesn't know that I notice the new trend of leaving at 4:45.

Hi all. Ykes on dh pulling off the eeg equipment lady m. Glad it's rescheduled and OK again.

So many starting school again. Ds goes after labor day. Still have to have a conversation about what he really wants for school. He's doing a bit better now I can get him to cook. And sometimes I get him to talk about random stuff. Seems happier again but he still shuts off what is on his game screen... how do I initiate something that might trigger him again. Gotta get stuff sorted.

As for dd. She's 36 weeks along. Everything is all in the right position already and looks good. We got a bit of a cooler though... Seems by ultrasound that now it might be a boy. First one Definitely looked girl. 20 ish weeks. They double checked. But now it is a surprise I guess. Loll. Well I'm kinda glad they find out now instead of at birth. Either way is perfect just means she might need a few different things .

Now I'm off to go sign some papers and then go check up on mom. See if today is good for a video call with her sister. She's had her day program at the care home and might be sound asleep when I get there . We'll see.

Baseball game starts in a few minutes. I wasn't planning on going out today, but I went to pick up the Indian food. Perfect and just enough for 2 meals for 2 people.... I just had a wonderful hot shower. Dh is going to listen to the game from the bedroom while he plays on his phone. IF something happens on the TV dh will yell out "What happened?" then I have to get up from the couch and go stand beside him and try to explain that so-and-so hit the ball and it went along the first base line but stayed fair and the player got to second base and the other guy that was on first is now on third..." etc. That's my next 3 hours.

Good gracious -- how did it get to be past midnight!? I came in here to the computer to check on straps for fitted sheets. DGS can NOT keep a fitted sheet on the bed. I put some on my Wmart order and * poof * suddenly I had been here almost two hours! This is what happens to all my time.

looked to see what the "new" menu item was "coming soon" to Chick-fil-a... (waffle sandwiches)...
read the church newsletter...
printed a grief newsletter re: MOTIVATION. (Yes, yes, I see the irony.) Spent some time resizing that thing so I could print it -- the original was SEVEN PAGES. I got it down to 2.
Watched a YouTube thing about tips and tricks on the iPhone... none of which apply to my several years old iPhone, I think.
Printed a recipe that I might use the next time dgrands are here.
Looked at FB posts, first day of school, etc...
Messaged with cousin who has a new boyfriend after a terrible divorce a year ago.

And I've not done much since my earlier post except I did finally get dressed, after talking to dmom for an HOUR.
Went to the post office. Have not yet read the newspaper.
Went to the bank. Looks like there's going to be too much month at the end of the money.
Picked up to-go order at the steak house.
Came home, ate, watched tv, and scrolled on FB. This has got to stop.

Harriet, there is a guy in our county, whom I don't know personally but I am friends with on FB. He has uses his 3-D printer to make very realistic copies of historical sites in the county. He did his old high school football stadium, the original courthouse, a dam on the river, an old historic house that has been torn down, a WWII air base. I don't have any idea how he does these but they are approx. 12-18 inches square, I'd say -- I mean, they'd fit in a box that size. He paints them and they are very interesting to look at, very detailed. He posted pics on FB, and now they are displayed in a little museum in his hometown.
