I can get myself lost going down a rabbit hole designing a perfect system to do something. Hours and hours devoted to designing a system & method instead of actually doing the action. So, to keep myself from focusing on the system/method I am just going to start. I opened the kindle reader and selected the first book that popped up. No overthinking. No researching for the perfect book to read. Just turn to page #1 and get started. Only 542 more pages to do.

One of my favorite local cooks was the source of our lunch. I selected smoked pinto beans & hot link bowl. DH choose a 3 meat sandwich. So good.

Good afternoon!

My condolences to your DB on the loss of his horse, LadyM. That is truly a longtime companion.

Definitely missing my ADHD meds. Even when motivation is present, activation is lacking. Had breakfast, then dozed off again. Had therapy and did dishes, and that's about it. Did spend some time in a rabbit hole online -- I finally managed to dig up the backup drive for my computer, but I can't find the cables, so I've been looking online. Ideally, I could find them at Micro Center, and then I could make one trip down to there for the cables and to the Michael's a few doors down for the floss I need. But I'm not sure what I need. And, having mentioned that, I fell back down the rabbit hole. I wonder if they could find the appropriate cables if I just take the drive?

I should have lunch, but I'm not sure what I want. I think, no matter what else I have, I will have a sweet potato.

OK, I am totally sidetracked. I will have lunch now and step away from the computer! Have a great day, everybody!

Mystery, sweet potatoes build enthusiasm. ;)

Pot up propagated plants
Deal with the new bras
Start focus cleaning master bath
Finish sewing that needs dark thread
Office declutter ahead of next focus - desk
reward of call with cousin

addition: the tops arrived too, so "deal with new tops"

In all, 4 items went into the mending basket, only one of which needs an actual alteration job, and I like that one enough to try.
One of the tops is going to be kept even though it was wrongly advertised, with a photo showing a small-scale print fabric. Upon arrival, that's the print alright, but the scale is much larger with big, splashy designs. I'm not happy, but better to put up with it since the return/replacement hassle gives only marginal benefit. I guess this was a bug of superimposing the image over the same photograph of the garment in various prints. They used an actual fabric-photo, but not in the scale of the garment in the picture.

The bathroom is to a stopping point for today.

Still no sign of company and HRH is... .. not pleased. He had wanted to make that deposit today, and other errands.

I did that too LM only with planner sheet set ups.
white out on the headers that do not work the way I like em.
Oh well at least I used it today LOL!

Trimmed my bangs.
Had lunch.
Need to figure out what's next.
Log my food intake is next up. X

I've been watching the unboxing of the neighbors kitchen cabinets as guys

Yes, yes and yes.

About planners - I haven't gotten onto videos, BUT have spent an unfortunate amount of time wrestling with what to buy, especially if I am going to try to DIY "do-it-yourself" and insist on the features I like. I do comfort myself with the knowledge that this is something I would work with every day of 365 days, so perhaps deserves time researching. It had gotten to the point, though, that I diagnosed myself with a tangent.

Mystery, let's cut to the chase. The important thing is, you have an excuse and opportunity to go to Michaels. Go. Smile. Buy needlework supplies. We are here living vicariously through those of us who can go to the craft store. (btw, did you know that there are actually planners that are marketed specifically for ADHD? That raised my eyebrows.)

the Declutter in Office was always going to be the toughie.
Have been using online timers to get through it, lol. This one has served me best - fish and music, no commercials, just 10 minutes 4 times by now, so about 45 minutes of work with 15 of stand up and stretch, reminding me of a good TOTH. Serious but not interminable.

... you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoilt, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your career.
Twins, I LOVE that quote!!! Thank you for sharing. That inspired me to do the next hour's task before I started this post.

I haven't turned a new leaf every hour, but I have made some progress, and since I am still "feeling kinda poorly," I am giving myself a POTB.

I have
* talked to dmom -- she is feeling better and plans to come to my birthday party tonight
* I emptied the dishwasher and washed the few dishes in the sink
* spent a lot of time clearing out emails and searching for info on adding dental to my insurance
* tried to call my dentist, but he is out until next Tuesday
* put the sheets in the washer
* s/s the bathroom
* s2s
* talked to ds
* talked to the renter/yard man when he came to pay the rent
* straightened up the kitchen and den, put the extra chairs around the dining room table, got out the paper plates/etc

My back hurts and my stomach is still sending me to the bathroom quite often. DS asked if I felt like having a party. I told him I just want to get it over with. That sounds ungrateful, but I think he knows what I mean.

Blessed, I guess the next right thing for me to do is also paperwork -- I need to reconcile my checkbook and statement. It came in the mail Saturday, I think. I know the longer I put it off the more trouble it is, but I have just not gotten to it this week.

I have had a 3x5 box for addresses, but it is long out of date. I keep my Christmas card addresses on a Word file, and I have it printed out for easy access. Most of the addresses I need are in that list.

So glad you're getting some rain, Nancy! Sounds like a nice walk with the dog and the umbrella!

Harriet -- dgrands are pretty much the perfect guests!

LadyM -- So glad your dd is having such fun working on the parade float! A $1000 prize is a big incentive! Here, I think all they get is a ribbon at the community pep rally. But I remember working on homecoming floats -- as you said, the memories will last forever.
BTW -- dgs will probably have a full schedule of ballgames for me to watch Saturday. We pull for Navy also -- my paternal grandfather and dh's father were both Navy veterans. (I do have a soft spot for Army, also, because, y'al know -- OG was Army.)

I want to do better with my reading habit also. Fiction pulls me in a lot faster than non-fiction, but I do have a non-fiction book that I need to be reading.
Hours and hours devoted to designing a system & method instead of actually doing the action.
I could have written that, LadyM...

Mystery, I felt like I was in the middle of Pam & Peggy's mess, where they had a dozen things going at once, and I think they were in a kid's tent when the husband's boss arrived. I needed to change the sheets, needed to s2s, needed to get house ready for tonight... smh...

I noticed the church secretary's planner yesterday -- at first I thought it was do-it-yourself, but then I noticed pale print for some of the headings. It was about the size of a steno pad, and she was writing in all different colors, so it very bright and cheerful. Sometimes I want to just jump right in and do a bullet journal, with different categories for EVERYTHING... books to read, medical info, trackers for exercise and other habits... but that IS a lot of work, and I'm not sure I would like the bullet journal with all those rings. A spiral notebook is not the same, because you can't remove and replace pages as desired.

Harriet -- that timer would have me just sitting here staring at the fish for ten minutes...
Tomorrow is another day.

I got new journal for stuff and refill pages.
I have removed some from the wire bound journal got it with the intention of using for planner pages
because of the floral border. I got out the refill pages and have learned some thing new putting Washi tape on the
current holes and repunching them to fit my planner. I have wanted to learn that. It worked yea!

Next I decided I needed white out on the things for headings the ones I did not like or were on the wrong page.
Put in some that I wanted moved or liked better. That is going well but took up some time.
I watched 15 min. of a movie then went in to the kitchen and did a few things I'm glad for that round done yea!

Sun came out for a few min. that was good too.

I could do some more writing but I"m out of that mode.
I am trying a 2 page a day lay out and one planner pages from the refill and one from the journal goes together well.
Thinking as I go and watching some more of that gal they did the master class.
