We have a constant supply of time and there's time for a new leaf every hour if we need it. Just start over, and begin again.“…the chief beauty about the constant supply of time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoilt, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your career. Which fact is very gratifying and reassuring. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.” ~Arnold Bennett

Re: Thursday: New Leaf Every Hour PWYC
today's hope: paint the door trim under the cabinets. it's a touch up to make it look spiffier
yesterday was supposed to be my usual desk day/anti procrastination day but I was busy with other things that had fallen behind. My hope today is to do paperwork and phone calls. The other stuff is still sitting there but I know the next right thing is to get these things done.
goal:
phone calls
laundry from upstairs - dejunking
move a box photos downstairs
dogs
chop up onions from garden for the freezer - I no longer have a place that is cool enough - its too humid.
fill out medical forms
I have been meaning to do this for a year: my old address book has finally bit the dust - it worked well for years but now it's not working. I am thinking of doing a 3 x 5 card system for my addresses etc. one hour done
phone call: keeping my fingers crossed - city has not come out to close our permit even after months of setting up appointments. The only thing left is the grading permit to be okayed. Calling again today. We can't do anything with the landscaping without that permit being cleared.nothing.
cards pulled for today!
time to get mom up d helper got her up and gave her a shower -
I made breakfast
meds given
water/with gatorade and her boost given
d helper is reading the new garden illustrated with mom and looking at all the fall flowers very nice
I ordered a couple things for halloween - I like cute halloween. (at first I was going to order a bunch of stuff and then deleted all of the extras)
NEXT: CLEAN OFF KITCHEN TABLE. LAUNDRY FLIP FLOP.
TABLE HAS: (has card files, index cards, old address book, clutter not being used.

I was up at four - ish.
raining yea we really need it!
Did the qt plan & journals
Umbrella walk today the dogs did not mind.
I did up my dishes in my new dish pans last nite.
Put the dishes away this morning while my coffee brewed.
I am glad to be able to think about gardening and list my things
and not really need to have to do them today I can wait till the rain stops a few days.
It's off and on rain and we really need it!

Re: Thursday: New Leaf Every Hour PWYC
Good morning, everyone.
Thanks so much for being my productive-day buddies yesterday.
I potted up my propagated flowers this morning early, while I had the house and surfaces to myself to make a mess, lol.
Very hopeful overnight that today might be as productive as yesterday.
However, my day is otherwise under threat, lol. Distant in-law family, who are definitely formal company, messaged HRH and may come by today. I would rather they would say, "we intend to come at ____ o'clock", rather than "we may come by". Or, I suppose, may not, and at any given time.
Strange, we had two people surprise us at different times yesterday and it actually bothered me less. One, a neighbor who is very formal as well, but didn't stay long and the other - well, the other is sorta perfect and not company, since he's our grand, lol. (we fed him cookies!)
The 5 x 5 made out last evening says:
Pot up propagated plants ✔
Deal with the new bras
Start focus cleaning master bath
Finish sewing that needs dark thread
Office declutter ahead of next focus - desk
The only item I didn't get to yesterday was a reward of phone call to cousin, so that may happen today.
lucylee, so sorry to hear you have felt unwell and glad you are getting rest.
Ramblin', now that we know lucylee's plumber has finished, how has your situation been? Did it all get accomplished?
Card system for addresses - for me all these years it has worked very well. The rest of the family knows to consult "Mom's box". It only takes one moment, of course, for a cardfile to tumble, and that has happened a couple times. It's not so bad with regular cardfile because it's easier to put back together quickly, but a little worse with a whole lot of long-held address cards. Still, it's the best hard-copy system I've found because it's so effortlessly changeable, plenty of space when someone has a baby, when you find out a birthday date, when address changes, additional phone, etc.

Re: Thursday: New Leaf Every Hour PWYC
I ended up meeting the cemetery committee guy at the cemetery at 9:30 instead of 10. He emailed late yesterday afternoon to see if I could move back to 9:30. I was a little apprehensive about what was on his mind, lol, but we had a good walk through the cemetery and talk. Some things are already underway, some need to wait until fall. More OMM stuff right now when I don't need it, but it's all good. Need to get all this down in a list before it goes "poof!"
Dh had sliced yesterday's brisket before I got back home, and he kindly cleaned up the kitchen. I need to make freezer room for the first pan. And I need to make and eat something, and I need to get the next pan of brisket into the oven. I have my usual Thursday workout at two, and dh is out this p.m. so I do have extra time today. And and and
First up, make my omelet and fruit and eat.

Re: Thursday: New Leaf Every Hour PWYC
Later...eating omelet and fruit and brisket is in oven. Was ready to go except for getting it into the pan, cutting up sweet potatoes to add, and adding additional ingredients. Still need to do kitchen clean up but there's not much today.
I also added cemetery tasks to my list. Will deal with that tomorrow.
I am trying to keep from going upstairs because I have the workout later and don't want to get sidetracked into not going. I'm off next Monday anyway, they are open half a day but I'm not going to go in.

Re: Thursday: New Leaf Every Hour PWYC
Good morning
It is a typical day here which makes me VERY happy. Bring on the normal, please!
Tonight is the last night of float prep for DD15. They have worked so hard on something that will get used less than 30 minutes but it will be a lifetime of memories. The class floats will be judged and top one will receive a prize of going on a field trip with $1000 prize money to spend so that incentive has them all doing their best.
I am trying to challenge myself to add another something that brings joy to my day. Considering...thinking on paper....
** Watching football. At least maybe following one team (Navy). Truthfully, it isn't the team I would be following but one player. He is one year older than DS18, grew up less than a mile from us, is the grandson of my best friend all through high school and we continue to socialize together. This is his 2nd year attending the Navy academy, so he probably won't see much playing time yet. Hum....do I want to put in the effort to watch a game that I have no interest in with hopes of seeing him on the sidelines? I wish I could hype myself up to do this but can feel my interest lagging already.
** Reading books. I keep intending to establish a consistent reading habit. I can do it for a few days and thoroughly enjoy getting drawn into the book, but then .... .......I stop. Hope do I stay consistent?
** Try a new recipe. This is a definitely maybe.
** Paint. There are endless projects possible. I like the thought of being creative but don't know if I can commit to holding a paint brush in my hand while also watching DH. This is probably better done in a different phase of my life.
I cook almost every day so that really isn't anything new.
Establishing a reading habit would be new and it is something that interest me. hum...how do I stay consistent?
thinking....considering....

Re: Thursday: New Leaf Every Hour PWYC
Finished reading a book.
The way I did the reading habit was to begin with 1-3 pages.
then work up to 10 but every other day is okay.
I have worked on the kitchen dishes are done but it needs work.
made the bed.
Got some left overs frozen & containerized for later.
Had my juice.
Took Rx.
Food journal helped me today.
A bit off track for various reasons.
table got some attn.
Thanks for the fresh start I needed that today!
