Kathryn, your soup sounds delish!

Yesterday I made soup for us. It was a mix of some leftover soup in the freezer, turkey broth and some chicken pieces and wild rice leftover. Unusual, but I thought it was tastey.

Well, this morning was quite a surprise when I went out to the mailbox. It was almost the same temperature but the humidity is down and the mugginess is out of the air.

(OKay) I sure feel bad for your family having to sell their cows. I know it is not only the loss of the cows but the loss of a whole way of life.

Work in the office has been extraordinarily time consuming. This is the way things used to be, with proposal after proposal and DH running around talking to people. However, at this point, we don't know how much of this will turn into real jobs. A good percent USED to, but these days it's different. At least people aren't scared to ask right now. This year alone we've bid out more garage space than we've priced per year in probably 10 years. So the stuff people are contemplating is utilitarian instead of glamorous and fancy. I always think...well if they didn't have so much stuff they wouldn't need this space....

I will make my mark today if I get this office reclaimed, then work on reclaiming the dining room. It's a paper explosion around here.

Oh, MT, congratulations on the new house! Such wonderful news.

Was all set to do up the few dishes I have -like to keep that kitchen sink empty and shiny! :D However, evidently because it's so chilly out it's taking longer to heat the water. Usually turn on the water heater for about 30 minutes. It was only luke warm, so I've turned it on for another 15. Had already drawn water and found it was somewhat cool at best.

What is up with this? Here I am again NOT completing a post and here it sat. :o Think it was the phone calls I had -dh, dd and a dneighbor called me back to back. Neighbor wanted to be sure I was okay -she knew I'm home alone. I'm warm and cozy.

Dishes are now done and I've eaten lunch.

DH did tell me they're not putting dgs on the track today. Too cool and rainy and he's not prepared for it -rain suit. People were willing to give him rain tires, but they didn't want him to try running in it and scare him. So if it's still cool/rainy in the morning they'll pack up and head home. Know we're supposed to get 50mph winds today -tomorrow. Good day to stay in. I do need to go to my car and get my Bible study materials out. Good day to cover some of that too.

Need to put on long sleeves. It says it's 73 in here but I keep feeling cool.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

The soup was good!

Dh tasted it when I asked for his opinion on thickness and said it looked perfect but needed something. I ended up adding salt and pepper and a tsp of brown sugar. There was too much ginger for dh but he finished his bowl anyway (I pulled out the Limoges antique soup dishes and silver soup spoons and we ate in the dining room.) It is at the limit for my 'hot' spice but I enjoyed it.

I'll freeze some of it in ziplock bags, one serving each, so I won't have to worry about eating it all up now. The recipe said it made 4 servings but it has to be enough for at least eight 6 oz servings. It is a zero-point soup and relatively fulling so it makes a good diet option for me if I want an afternoon pick-me-up, although I like it with crackers (I have some non-wheat crackers from C*stc* that are good.)

Dh made bacon and eggs and I had a couple of slices of bacon with some leftover chicken on a salad. So that leftover is out of the fridge. Tonight's dinner is also leftovers. The fridge is rather full right now so I'm looking to eat some stuff out of it to make room for the fruit platter on Monday.

Home from grocery - I got sucked back into bed this morning for a nice warm nap. Temp in house is still just 63 degrees and only 61 out with a breeze. We're going to be outside tonight from 5 to 8 for an event and it will be cool.

-put groceries away
-clear kitchen counters
-start a load of delicates
-straighten family room
-clear kitchen table

YUM! Those soups sound good!

Indiana - Thank you for the head-up about the recalls.

Helia - I would love to see the pictures! If you have a moment to post a link to them, that would be a treat. Edited to add - never mind - I found it!! Thank you for sharing! :D

I'm late posting today. I've been on track and going strong, but had an emotional hit this morning (in J&C) that I had to pray about a few hours before I could think about it. (if that makes sense). I am so very thankful to have schedule and cards laid out so I can almost mindlessly do what I'm suppose to be doing while praying hard.

I have a couple files to find from a couple years ago. I'm fairly sure I can located them on different laptop, but I think I ca go for the external harddrive backup and see if I find it quicker that way.

OK and anyone else interested - I posted a link in the Members Only thread. My first attempt went awry, but I got it figured out eventually.

I finished that round, and took some ibuprofen for my back. I really, really, really, must loose weight. The event this evening will be three hours minimum on our feet so I'm planning for pants and low boots, no heels also. Speaking of which, I should get in the shower soon.

I'm going to:
-move plants on screened porch inside
-take out kitchen garbage
-take out compost
-take basket of laundry upstairs and put away before I s2s

You know, I don't see other people - you guys - rushing out all the time for events. I'm feeling really kind of dissatisfied with my (our) busy, busy life. Some of what I do is temple committees, etc., but we also have social occasions, go to some local fund raisers, just lots of nights out. And dh gets bored if he sits home so even when we have a night in, he's asking if I want to go out. Tonight is a fundraiser - it's actually from 5 - 8 outdoors - and some friends asked dh if we wanted to go with them. He did ask me first and I did agree...

My ddad was so unhappy... ... :(
that the three of us just all dropped everything and took him on an outing. We had Tractor Supply as the actual destination (after all, we have this ONE head of livestock here  ) and then stopped in to a produce stand as well. No produce struck HRH's fancy, but the pound cake did!!! So, very honestly, we pretended to have a reason to go out and got virtually nothing done except give my ddad something to do. Oh, HRH did find plumbing supplies for repairing that sink tomorrow when dstepson can finally get here.

Only one load of laundry had gotten done by that time. I had been able to continue Desk Day enough to get 3 out of 4 bills in the mail by the time the mail ran. It seems I am doing everything at about 75 percent efficiency lately.

At Tractor Supply, I saw THE most amazing birthday card. I bought it simply because I must send this card - do you ever do that? On the way home, I tried to think for whom I would save it - someone special who means a lot to me, because it is really a complimentary greeting for a whimsical person. Halfway home, I smiled, thinking if this village had all the same birthday, that card would be perfect for you! :D But DCousinMary's birthday will only be one day belated if I send to her - how astonished she will be to find I can be only ONE day late at accomplishing something!

Noticing Twins Mom's post before I submit... ... Twins, now, you know HRH and I really can't go out in the evenings. So don't go by us. Years ago, we met other couples for meals, that sort of thing, but from the time of onset of my mother's physical problems that pretty much went out the window. In truth, we both have homebody genes, too - that's part of it.
