Hello Dear Ladies,

Sunny day here with temps heading to the 60's. Been a mild winter so far.

Tada! Got my dailies done today.

The afternoon will consist of going over grocery sales and matching up with coupons. Printed out coupons yesterday, cut those and Sunday paper ones.

DH and sons out on work calls. Have some little jobs they are doing, DH is concerned because large jobs have been done and doesn't see any big ones lined up right now. I keep telling him there are more down the road for them.

In the mean time, I think of looking and printing coupons as printing money  and it's legal!

Still listening to Dicken's David Copperfield. The main character goes on a roller coaster ride financially through-out the book. As well as I found the character of Micawber quite humorous in the way he dealt with debt, giving someone an IOU equal to paying the debt.

Have a wonderful Tuesday All!

Hear my wheels spinning...vrooommmm as I make no progress with anything.

Sadie, I know what you mean. DH's big jobs are about completed also. Little ones keeping us going. Whatever it takes, right?

Hi Sherinjoy. Oooh, Lilac, too bad DH's ill. There seems to be a lot of stuff going around this winter.

(MT) yeah, stress eating. BTDT. Hope Mr. MT's problems are solved easily. Wanted to add: when DH broke his hip, we were supposed to be closing on the other house that weekend; Title company said they'd send someone over for our part of the signing. Maybe they'd do that for you?

Potential customer came; paperwork had to be added to, recopied, and DH is out so I had him on phone telling me details...and this guy is very nice but was looking all around, interested in our kitchen...and it is not in bad shape, but I sure would have done more if I'd known he was going to be scrutinizing my cabinets. Some of the glass needs shined; I sorta have a lot of office stuff dragged out from this morning's work...and he's going to bring his wife over sometime to look at cabinets too

This is my home. It's not a cabinet showplace! Oh well, time to do focus in the kitchen I guess.

We're finally back from this morning's runs. I went to church and helped rip sheets for bandages for the Congo -so guess that's my Ta Da for today so far. Also helped get the boxes packed and labeled to go to the post office for all the things being sent for White Cross.

DH and I stopped for a quick lunch and then came home. Have to go get DGD in a little while. Just noticed she put a "notice" on the hallway bathroom door for EVERYONE to stay out and not to clean it. That would be fine if it wasn't also the guest bathroom and is usually a disaster zone -which it is now. Last I looked DD's & DSIL's names are on the mortgage. :? Sure dd will have something to say to her about it -especially since she was the last one to throw unecessary things away. DH and I did clean it last week before DSIL/DBIL came over.

Think I'll go try to run the cleaner in the living room before I leave. Also have to look and see if there's something I can start for dinner.

((MT and Mr. MT)) Understand stress eating!

Sadie, I keep wanting to ask you about the recording you're listening too. A friend of mine really enjoyed David Copperfield on tape/CD. She specifically mentioned the hilarious rendition of Aunt Betsy (is that her name?) yelling "DONKEY!" whenever a donkey strayed into her yard. My book club read David Copperfield last year - I really enjoyed it! Though I'd read many of Dickens' novels in the past (I went through a Dickens phase at age 15), that was a new one for me.

TaDa! I have finished my New Year cards. Unfortunately, there are more people I'd like to send greetings to, but I have run out of cards. I'll send out some letters + family photo instead to some faraway friends.

Ds and dd16 are home early today. They have finals this week, and so their schedule is different: 2 2-hour exams/day = finished by noon. Dd13 has some midterm/final exams too, except her 2 hour exams (the 2 hours exams are for classes for hs credit) are spread across 2 days rather than one 2 hour block. Ds brought a friend home, and they are studying for their Latin V final tomorrow. SO, with everyone sitting in the living room studying - and playing some study music - it is kind of noisy here. Ds and friend are discussing Ovid's Metamorphoses, which apparently includes werewolves! I had no idea that the concept of werewolves was that old. Actually, I just googled and werewolves were in Gilgamesh, which is an even more ancient (7th century BC Mesopotamian) writing! I just learned something new today - very useful thing too. . . . LOL! Anyhow, the music is very pleasant and tasteful, but it just adds to the noise. I need to study Hebrew and I think I'm going to remove myself to the play room downstairs to do that.

Other Tadas:
-a.m. routine
-coffee with dh this morning
-towels collected and washing

Next:
-switch laundry
-Hebrew work

Ahead: I'd like to go jog at 2:45. I need to pick up dd13 from synchro. swimming at 4 and take her to her oboe lesson at 4:45. I'll sit in the nearby cafe and work on Hebrew during her lesson.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Hmmm.... seems to be dentist day here! Elizabeth, cathyy and Kathryn, good job keeping up with the proactive medical stuff, teeth-wise!

((Dee's dd)) In any other circumstances, another note on the door saying, "It's the Guest Bathroom, too." LOL. Do you think dgd suspects you of throwing things away, Dee, or is this just a general announcement?

Emptynester, I know exactly what you mean about the salt. There are times a little shake could turn almost anything edible. Or melt cheese on something, I'd eat it. Very much hope this script changes things. Harmony had a good idea.

Sadie, you will be so well-read.

Congratulations, cathyy's dh! Hope he has a wonderful experience teaching.

Kathryn, that guard seems like a really sensible idea - hope it doesn't bother you at all and has little weight.

Nancy, congratulations - I have a half-pound that is trying to decide whether to get lost, but mine is slow! (Shoo, Shoo!)

Harmony, you've been fixing your hair up with curlers rather regularly - I almost never roll mine, never getting that far along! In theory, that might be where I'd be heading, but seldom arriving. Dd32's trick of putting still-damp hair into a loose scrunchie is about as far as I usually get.

I did trim my hair today. That's a TaDa.

After much coaxing, went for a walk with my ddad. He doesn't feel well today, but the sun is shining and he needs a little outdoor time and change of scenery.

The best laid plans of mice and men. . . . .

Well, my car is making a weird sound again when I go over bumps. I think something is wrong with the front suspension. Anyhow, I did not make it to the gym; I turned around and came home, hoping I could take ds' car instead. But ds needs to take his friend home, so I won't be able to use the car for a while and so won't be able to work out now. :? Dd13 has called; after going to practice club (for the oboe trio she is playing at solo/ensemble festival this weekend) after school, she found out that synchro. swimming has been cancelled. Fortunately, she can walk home so I don't need to pick her up. Ds should have his car back in time for me to take dd13 to her oboe lesson. . . . And this is why we bought a 3rd car (old one) when ds got his driver's license.

Yes, congratulations to cathyy's dh !! I hadn't realized he had musical talents - or I had forgotten.

Much I want to say to each of you, but doing so would keep me here on this machine longer than I need to be. I am impressed by all of you, all you have going on and are doing, for acts of selflessness and diligent work.

I'm going to work on Hebrew until it is time to leave.

Good trip to the dentist. I really like this doctor. My instructions on the night guard are to wet it with warm water, put it in my mouth and do that tomorrow night. In other words, he sincerely doesn't think I'll spend the whole night with this in and it isn't worth losing sleep over (literally!) But I'm to keep trying night after night until I adjust to it.

I'm a bit tired after all the poking and prodding but I'm not sore.

Picked up groceries, visited at the general store and then came home. Dh was online when I got home so I IM'd with him for a bit before he headed to bed. So we had some real-time conversation today after all - when I missed him at my lunch hour, I thought I might not get a chance.

Next challenge is to start in on paperwork. First up is to file the salary info from last year so I can generate our T4 tax receipts. I forgot completely about them and they are due while I'm away.

Actually, Harriet, some of the things that dgd asked me about last week that had disappeared -I had no idea what she was talking about. Turns out dd had thrown them out because there was no need for her to have them. But likely she doesn't believe it was "mom" and it was Grandma. Oh well. I'm sure dd will remind her she's not to put ANY signs on the bathroom door -that it's 'family' property. :? Time will tell. DD and DSIL -neither one is home from work as yet. DD has a TSA team after school group on Tuesdays and seems like they're meeting really late each week trying to get things ready for "States". That's being held February 22-26 at Amelia Island -about 4 hours away. DH is going as well to serve as a judge. Trusting that things will be okay here during that time. May just leave her with her dad on that Saturday and go visit someone. The rest of the week she'll have school.

Have to take dh over to his db's after "Jeopardy" tonight. He's going to Plant City to the flea market about 5a.m. so it's easier to take him tonight. (You think?)

Hello Everyone! I hadn't realized it was this late in the afternoon. Everyone is busy today and I see we're only on page 2.

My TaDas for today are morning and afternoon dailys are done, footprints erased from kitchen counters and dining room table, lol dried and put away. Also got some bi-weekly chores done, vacuum living areas and driveway swept etc.

Thoughts from previous posts: Indiana, I was happy to read that you are getting better...keep on doing what you're doing! OKay, ((LO))...sorry he still isn't feeling up to par. Sometimes those things seem to hang on. And Lilac, ((Dh))...Sorry he's not feeling well. Hoping you can keep from catching whatever he has. Lucy, Thank you for the nice comment re: ddil#2! She's worked hard for her accomplishments.

A few thoughts from today: Sadie and Harmony, Hope those big jobs start rolling in along with the little ones that keep things going! Dee ((Hugs)) all around for you, dd and dgd. Enjoy your trip to Disney! MT, ((dh))...Hope the extra meds do the trick and keep dh on track to get his hand procedure done. BTW, congratulations on selling your 5th wheel and lot. That will make things easier for you in the future. The new bed looks really nice and comfy! Cathyy, congratulations on dh's new job. There sure are a lot of people here in our Village connected with music in one way or another from those taking lessons to the pros!

My dh is feeling lots better...(thanks for asking, Dove.) He is going out and about on his own shopping, dr. appts. etc. and I've caught him walking around the house without the cane! He can't wait to stop having to use it.

Hope the retainer helps Kathryn!

The talk about eating and food is interesting. I know about stress eating, too. But I go through times of being able to eat a good, sensible diet to craving sweets or starches. Seems I can hold off for 3 or 4 months, then the cravings hit and it takes a lot of will power to get over it again.

Speaking of food, time to get supper and feed ddogs. They are both "talking" to me!
