DD finally got home. She's heard their team is to get an award so that will thrill the kids. (from Relay for Life). Her kids/school raised almost $2,800 and this is their first try. The kids got a lot out of it and have already signed up for next year. I believe their TSA group will also be recognized at the "Nationals" in Nashville in June for special projects. They also raised over $500 this winter for another walk but I forget what it was. Good to see 'good news' isn't it -from kids?
DD is sleeping. One of the silent auction items from last night was a pet package. They'd asked at the end (since it evidently didn't have bids) who had a dog. DD wasn't bashful. In it was a $175 certificate to a local animal hospital for vaccines. timely -they've been talking about taking dlab for her shots. There were other treats and toys as well. Sure dlab will be sure to enjoy it all!
Packing for home is now seeming doable!
DD did luminaries last night in honor of DDIL -she's a 2-year survivor of breast cancer and another for dh, who is now a 48 year survivor of Hodgkins Disease. Sent me texts with pictures. Want to print it out for dh so he can see. He'll appreciate it.
Then there's our dgs18 who is a long time survivor of retinoblastoma (cancer of the retinas -which he was born with and still bears the after effects of all his treatments as an infant and small child.) I pray every day for those I know who are fighting this horrible disease.
Think I'll relax and read for a while. I've earned it for a bit.

I'm going to suggest to dh that we pick up some steaks or chicken for the grill and have a family dinner tonight. Both kids are home, and he's leaving again tomorrow so this is a "window of opportunity." Will also serve the purpose of getting the kitchen table cleaned up - both kids brought in boxes and left them there to the point I can't fold laundry there.

Happy Anniversary to K & K!
I started a post earlier but wasn't able to finish it.
this morning has been spent troubleshooting MPB camera/security system configuration. One thing after another was pin pointed to be a problem....finding a work around or determining that path must be abandon and another path found. FINALLY we have success!

Busy day here. Thanks for all the congrats. It has been 28 years for us. I feel so old these days I can't imagine being around for another 22, but that's my goal. Both our sets of parents made that goal (despite dh's parents dying in their early 70s.)
I managed to get up, work out, dress, eat, put on a load of laundry, hang it out and still get out the door at 8:30. My seminar was interesting except it taught me that I'm not doing things right (this was on Ministry and Personnel.)
Then I had lunch at Subway, ran my two errands, bought myself a nice candle as a reward (not sure for what - I think participation!) and then came home.
Dh and I will go out for dinner tonight but aside from that nothing special is planned. Actually, dinner out is more than we usually do. The rule here is to treat me specially 365/6 years a day (can't forget it is a leap year!) but as a result, our actual anniversary doesn't have to be anything special.

I think my dgniece5 is heading toward playing soccer for a good long time. She made 12 goals in her soccer game today. She is young and many things can change but she can be good enough to get a scholarship. That is 13 years down the road and anything can happen.

Making 12 goals in one game?!?!? OH WOW! Congratulations to Indiana DGNiece!!
Yesterday convention was exhausting and exhilarating. I didn't know a single person at the conference so for the eleven hours that I was away from home, I didn't speak (other than...."is anyone sitting in this chair?" type of interaction). I spent every moment listening, learning, absorbing like a sponge the information being given. I attended 6 workshop and visited 40+ vendor booths. I finalized the decision of LO schooling and am feeling confident in curriculum chosen for next year.

I'm going on an adventure in a few minutes. I haven't been able to do this since my hospitalization in November.
I am so excited. It isn't much of an adventure in your eyes I'm sure but for me it is a milestone.
Keep your fingers crossed and I'll let you know how it was afterward.

Happy anniversary Kathryn and Ken - and many more!
Enjoying a day of clearing hot-spots around the house, getting caught up on cleaning. Beautiful weather with lots of sunshine helps lighten up the house.
Waving hi to everyone checking in today.

If anyone's interested and has forgotten, the Derby is at 24 mins after the next TOTH. We have it on but no one is watching.
My dmother used to pay such close attention! By the time they held the race, she was able to make a pretty good pick, she'd listened so carefully.
My back is better, but I've been treating it so carefully today.

Happy Anniversary to Kathryn and Ken!
Twins' Mom... hope your twins are feeling better soon. They're home for the summer now, right?
Lucy.... hope dh is feeling better soon, too.
Indiana.... Enjoy your adventure! And, WTG to dgniece for the 12 goals!
I hope to get a glimpse of the moon tonight, but there has been a light cloud cover here most of the day.
I've spent a good bit of time today hand washing new fabric for my next project.
