Re: FUN FRIDAY
I'm in Toronto now at the gate. This time we are at the right gate so won't almost miss our flight.
Our flight from Atlanta was over 30 minutes late arriving but there was no-one in Immigration so we both made it to the gate with 10 minutes to spare. I knew I'd make it because I don't have to line up, but I wasn't sure about my minister.
So we have a second to breathe. We even had time to pee!

Re: FUN FRIDAY
So glad you were not rushed, Kathryn! Stay safe.
Harmony, you are doing so much. You certainly don't have to respond for us to know you care about us!
OKay, are you feeling better or still hurting?
Thanks so much everyone for the input about my ddad's diet. I will try not to obsess, but I do hope this is a phase! At mealtime, he complains about no appetite, pushing the plates away, but any other time of day (or night) he's searching for cookies or treats and can't get enough!
New member bmwharvey is hoping for ideas for card systems for children in Cardfile Central.
Hopefully thinking Indiana may get home soon.
I may need a hug and some reassurance!
I just tried on clothes in a fitting room. Somebody please tell me I don't look THAT bad!
Never was there better motivation for exercise than a flourescent-lit fitting room. Yuck. THAT would be a sure-fire way to track improvement while you hope to trim down - never mind the scale or the tape measure, just decide on a fitting room and go back to the same stall-and-mirror once a month! The honesty is BRUTAL.
Anyway, the purchase of new workout shorts, long overdue, is accomplished. Couldn't be happy with tops, so didn't purchase as I certainly don't need to be tossing money away when a t-shirt is fine. I do see how they are helpful, though - open arms for freedom of movement, etc. Getting in and out of them, unfortunately, is also good exercise for me, and I don't want to have to call 911 to the fitting room.
I also replaced my dear departed small frying (omelet) pan and made the Vitamin store run.
HRH is now away for a half-day while I stay with my ddad.

Re: FUN FRIDAY
Ran out to library (books wouldn't renew online, I guess I've done that too many times) and stopped at HD with returns. If I don't get that done within 30 days of purchase we end up with credit card type store cash, and those are awkward in DH's wallet and messes up my bookwork.
Glad I don't have to cook today. 1 more day of leftovers, plus I have another sweet potato to bake...I'll finish up the chicken soup.
Glad to see Kathryn on her way home. Sure sounded like she enjoyed her trip!
Oooh, a fitting room, I dread them. Especially for bathing suits. Yuck!

Re: FUN FRIDAY
I read and snoozed a bit while dh was pressure washing the deck. The main slide was pulled in so I couldn't do too much in here. Came across a couple of 'lost' recipes while I was in the bedroom. Decided I'd get them in the computer while dh is finishing up. So that's my next fun task.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Re: FUN FRIDAY
Good afternoon. It should be fun at my house tonight, DD10 is having twins a sleepover. Boy/girl twins, they have been at my house separately. I had lunch and recess with DD at school today, that is when the sleepover got planned. Swamp cooler repair person is coming at 3:00, so I will be leaving payroll soon. If I am not getting paid, i will be doing all my errands. I finally got the document converted this morning. Last night, my art teacher thought that XDH and dFriend? might be dating. Everyone seems to suspect this and no one is comfortable with it. ARGH!!! So many of our friends are mutual. Well, I am not going to quit seeing my friends just so they can date in peace. My intention is to simply be polite and act with as much class as I can manage.

Re: FUN FRIDAY
I got to dermatologist appt on time and it only took 30 minutes, so I treated myself to a trip through Home Goods and World Market, and lunch out. I was also going to go to a "salvage" type place (they have furniture, mirrors, rugs, just a variety of stuff) but there was road construction near there so I skipped it. Went by the house to see grouted tile - same as yesterday but grouted now, and then home for the power nap. I really could use one everyday - getting up at 5:30 every a.m. just wears me out.
Got stopped on writing by needing to check in at temple on the latest issues and that was hours ago.
Have written several emails since then....
Dh, ds & Z are having a guys night out. I think I'll work a couple of rounds of five (or more?) and perhaps dd and I will order a pizza and watch a movie later.
-finish clearing kitchen counters (had started while I was on the phone)
-reboot laundry
-clear kitchen table
-finish emptying dishwasher
-feed the poor suffering dogs

Re: FUN FRIDAY
I'm completely safe at home now.
It was a long wait in Toronto, the plane was late leaving, and then again for the shuttle bus in Ottawa. I won't do that again, the wait was almost 30 minutes. Without a suitcase I could have walked to the car faster.
I drove the minister to her home, rushed into a grocery store and bought dinner for myself (lasagna and salad), took the highway home (minister lives in the city) and then picked up the mail at the store and visited there.
Dinner is ready - I think I'll eat at my keyboard and catchup online.

Re: FUN FRIDAY
Kathryn must be home! I "see" her at the bottom of the page.
Finished that round. DD and I will order a pizza and watch an on demand movie. I'm having trouble being nice to her - we leave in a little over a week for the beach and she will go directly to camp from there. She hasn't done the first thing in regard to camp clothes or packing, and her room has deteriorated very badly to the point I'm feeling pretty evil.
Macs is barking periodically because there's thunder off in the distance. He's also making me crazy.
-take out paper recycling
-clear "hot" counter
-sweep kitchen
-check phone messages

Re: FUN FRIDAY
I'm back from town have the groc. out of the car unloaded and put away now.
Went for a walk.
Swept the drive way.
Finished reading a book got my journaling done.
Enjoyed some time at the library and checked out some organic gardening mags. to look at here at home. Finds included a book for dgson to read here a Bible story type one, some yarn for the next batch of puppets, and prayer shawl project after this one.
Harriet you might make up some healthy cookies with peanut butter in them instead of the butter / marg. for your dad so he's getting some protein with coconut, raisins, whatever he enjoys in them with applesauce reduce the amount of sugar somewhat but not totally.

Re: FUN FRIDAY
My DFiL's wife makes some kind of peanut butter cookies that have no sugar in them; they are baked and I've had one, they are pretty good. DFiL is diabetic and wasn't eating well, but he will eat a few of these every morning for breakfast. At least he's getting protein.
Well, long task done. I reconciled a bank account, statement came and I tackled that, corrected several mistakes and got it to within 6¢, and then finally found that. I don't usually make that many mistakes in one month.
Tried to do something about all the paper clutter around here. Organized a whole bunch of papers into files. I'd left these all out because DH was still working on them...but over half the kitchen was covered in papers so I filed them and put them in the step file. Now, I know he won't be able to find anything and I'll have to retrieve everything when he wants, but I just couldn't stand the mess.
My desk is a huge pile of papers, I just plunked the bank statement on top and worked. That is driving me crazy too. DH and I are both tired out right now.
He now says he can't sit for long periods of time (1 hour?) in reg. office chair. His hip and ankle hurt, doesn't know how he's going to sit for 8 hours 2 days in a row in July to do his continuing ed. I wish there was something I could do to help him. ..sigh...I don't recommend old age.
