Oy, dh has worked himself up in a mood today. Not sure what is going on but he's upset about ds' room. I told him he should look at dd's room if he thinks ds' is bad.

We had a lovely evening out with dfriends but coming home the convertible was too cool and my nose was running. I slept in until 9:30 this morning - almost unheard of. I've read the paper and surfed online a little and drank mucho coffee. I have a bit of a bronchial cough, I think from all the dust in the garage yesterday. Also some stiffness in arms, legs and back, but I do want to continue the trend today.

-reboot laundry
-empty dishwasher
-clear kitchen counters
-eat breakfast and take meds (I forgot that I hadn't eaten - only coffee so far!)

Nancy, dd said she ended up the only student in her SS class today, when an older girl had to excuse herself to substitute for an absent nursery teacher. So dd thought that also showed the usual summer trend toward fewer in church attendance. It's a tiny class even on a good day, though.

I had 1/2 apple and 1/2 banana for first breakfast, but couldn't resist when HRH made milk-gravy, so I had a milk-gravy biscuit for brunch!

OKay, what if you took him in play clothes and made a stop at the church restroom to change him when you arrived? Or what if you laid his clothes out at the front door, and changed him while dh held the door open to leave, then made a getaway-run for the car? Dd32 has been known to change a boy into nicer clothes in kinfolk's driveway just before entering the house to visit! Then have dsonil CARRY the said boy into the house!

Dee, I remember a time with sharks but it may have been later. I had just emerged from difficult church drama and did NOT find those "sharks" funny, trying to make our simple chats difficult. I have a memory of typing "dd2" in one of my first posts, so that would have been 2000, and I'd be at 11 years, approaching 12, but I'd lurked before that. The way I know that OKay long preceded me, is that by the time I got there she had already felt brave enough to have posted her routines, which I really appreciated. Also a mini-recipe for Pepperoni Spaghetti - that recipe name stuck with me.

Lynlee mentioned breast health and I was wondering - Sadie, did you ever decide about the themography or possibly ultrasound for your breast checks from now on?

Yes, sun here, too. I insisted that dd go outside for 15 before it gets terribly hot. She took her sketch pad, because it was already too hot to exercise, really. Weekends are the only chance she has for sun.

Hope Indiana is getting back to normal and seeing some of this sunshine, too. Hmmm ... .. she may have Sadie's rain.

I started posting in Jan 1998. I remember because it was just before/after the Ice Storm and then in the fall we took our first around-the-world trip and the SHEs kept me calm(ish) through all the preparations for that.

I'm home from church. I stayed for coffee hour and dh went over to the second church to sing the anthem there. Since he wasn't back by the time the church was being locked up, I took a ride home from someone else (I had my computer to carry because I was using it to show a slide-show of Atlanta to the congregation at coffee hour.)

I've recorded some of my friend's service and will burn the services I have since Easter onto a CD for my house-bound friend. There is an anniversary luncheon following my friend's service so he invited the couple up to the front for the blessing/grace/blessing on their 70 years of marriage. After that, the postlude was Mendelssohn's wedding march and as the couple walked down the aisle everyone applauded them. Makes me all teary. I told dh that we were very unlikely to reach our 70th anniversary (we'll be lucky to hit 50) and he accused me of being pessimistic!

Since getting home I also got a load of laundry washed and out onto the line.

Finally done with that round. Have been quite sidetracked. DH, ds and Z took off to get steel toe shoes for ds and it's been so quiet since then.

-clean up on screened porch (yesterday I had ds and Z move the last of the unused firewood off of it)

The church Lunch said was a BBQ but actually they grilled burgers in the kitchen. I did great right amount of insulin I skipped the bun so I could have a dessert, with burger patty and salad some fruit & jello. I took cheese some one sliced it up for me and I left it for the on site pastor's wife to take home so no dishes!

They are taking baby steps we had song sheets and a bulletin a praise team is coming for a month until we can get one trained here, and they have a s.s. teacher for the kids now.

A friend said the announcement in the news paper has the wrong times so it might help to change that so I send a fb message to the on sight pastor not sure who's in charge of that now.

I've been knitting having a new thing I want to try on the prayer shawl has me with mojo. to keep on going!

I haven't heard from Indiana - she hoped to go home tomorrow. If she doesn't show up, I'll give her a call.

Don't know if you have read about the wildfires here in AZ. One of the biggest is the Gladiator Fire about 30 miles east of us, so we are getting a lot of smoke from it. The fire is moving north and there are several mountain ranges between us and the fire, so I'm not worried about the fire coming here - but it is causing a lot of problems for the people that are affected.

We are headed up to the clubhouse for ice cream as about the time it is done, the eclipse will happen. I'm not sure how much we will see but I remember the last one years ago and they are pretty cool. Lots on the news websites about how it fits into the Native People's religion around here.

tossed the sandwich press today. It had white ??? ash from the place the electricity was arcing from. (It went to the corresponding place on the other side.) Left a finger print where I poked it. Plastic still seems sound. It makes me aware of the what could have been - if there was any anything flamible, or another conductor around.
Other things I have heard of causing problems - a plugged in toaster that turned itself on and stayed on. A touch light that caused a fire. (those stories via dm. the touch light was someone in her community.)

I changed my sheets late last night and washed them today.

Had to be around 98 for me too, Kathryn. DH retired from the "Big Yellow Box" in December of 97 and I don't think we had a computer per se -other than a commodore until then. Doubt we had internet before then. Wish I'd been more careful and written down dates -who knew we'd still be sharing friendships this long after.

DH and I were gone All day! Left at 10:15 for church, went from there to watch dgs7 race gokarts, went right to church again from there for a get-together about several from our church who went to Israel in March. WEnt to L o w e ' s from there for wood for new steps and then finally home at 7:45 tonight. I'm tired!

We haven't even had supper yet. Going to be left-over chicken parm. Friends from the park brought it to us on Friday. Yummy!

Know I started on the boards in early 98'

I was like Twins and slept in this morning. For me that means 8:00. I ate breakfast, drank coffee, fed doggies and then headed outside. I "fed" and watered all my plants in both the front and back yards. I found myself thinking like Okay timing myself to see how long it would take. Will need that information when I set up my cards

Later I got my hair cut, stopped in at Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some space bags, had my toes done minus the polish....I'm working on killing the fungus in my toenails...and then went to Home Depot and Lowes. Came home, had a little nap and then took Willis out for a good swim and a romp in the grass.

Finished dinner and am now focusing on some school work. I've got my timer set so I won't forget to check for the eclipse.

Four more days to go. I have one more set of papers to grade...my last set...and then I need to enter them in my online grade book. I'm ahead of schedule in what needs to be done, but know no matter how well one plans something always gets in the way during the last week of school. Don't expect this one to be any different. If every thing goes alright I will only have to appear on Friday for an hour or so. Want to have all my "good byes" done. I'm not very big on faretheewells and know I will be back next year to sub.

Hope Indy is doing well and glad that Lynlee is doing ok. Phew....that was a close one girl
