Another bright sunny day. My 7th in a row! Yay!

And for those who work outside the home, our long weekend has great weather (although there is a smog advisory.) So it will be perfect for opening the cottage or going camping, or staying home and doing yard work.

After attending 12 worship services in past week, I'm getting ready to go to...... church.

we had mixed clouds and sunshine here today.
washed darks. and got them in. ate 3 meals. walked dog.

I was cooking in sandwich press - tuna vegetable fritters - for dinner.
Fortunately I'd put the wire racks back into the round counter oven and I heard them vibrating madly amid buzzing. Back into the kitchen to see "lightning" arcing around under the sandwich press. I was able to turn it off without touching anything - surprised it hadn't set off saftey switches.
gosh. Lucky save and there seems to be no problem apart from needing to toss sandwich press.
The counter is 80's style laminate. Its not scorched though I think there is tiny beads of grey & ash - maybe from the bakerlite. Warning to me maybe on cook ware. My stove needs replacing also..

Tomorrow I have an appointment with a new regular doc. Fingers crossed that goes ok. Mostly I need a referal to breast clinic for next week.

Thanks for opening today Kathryn. I hope you enjoy your own village service. I've enjoyed reading about the variety of services you attended.

Good Morning!

Lynlee - That sounds like a scary moment or two in the kitchen! Glad it worked out okay.

Last night DH and I worked in the yard while LO played. Not sure how the time passed so quickly. There is just so much to do that the time seems to evaporate. I normally try to serve supper around 5pm but we were caught up in our work and didn't eat until 8ish. Then it was past time for DH to do MPB PM chores and me to do LO bedtime routine.

I've read reviews of electric digital pressure cookers and almost bought one. I found myself declining to purchase one because I didn't find one with stainless steel interior (where the food touches). So my search for a "new generation" type of pressure cooker continues....

It is thundering and lightning like crazy here. The lightning is so bright that it makes the dusk/dawn lights outdoors go off. I suspect there will be plenty of mud puddles for Mr 3 year old to jump into today.

It's sunsational here today, too, Kathryn. Of course our weather often mimics yours since we're only 'across the pond'. See it's supposed to be 86 today -much too warm for May -at least here.

I've been soaking kleenex and sneezing up a storm this morning. Dh left about an hour or so ago to go sort some pop cans to take in for redemption this week. DS has been bringing his (for DGS7's college fund) because dh can get $.01 more per can through our service. DH had some of ds's all counted and someone stole a bag -why only 1 bag is beyond us. That's about $12. Grrr.

Things keep running through my mind to tell my dsis (re: loss of her eldest daughter). Should be 'easy' for me, having gone through the same loss, but it's not. I know she will feel 'guilty' wondering what more she could have done, but there really wasn't anything. Dniece had tons of pill bottles -from different doctors and pharmacies. Keep picturing my favorite picture of all my Mom & Dad's grandchildren. All 10 were sitting on the stairs at home -probably when our youngest was about 5. Have no idea where that picture is right now. May be in FL. Guess I need to find a program to put all our pics on flash drives or something so I can access them wherever we are.

Time for me to get ready for church as well. I've done nothing but put up meds for the next 2 weeks, took today's and am sipping a cup of java.

After church we're going to buy lumber for new steps coming into the RV (dh slid the older ones over to our bedroom door for painting and we're leaving it there. At least he'll hopefully have time to finish that project this week.

Any word on Indiana yet, MT? Sure do miss her smiling face here.

And just HOW did LO get to be 3 already, Okay? I know -one day at a time! When I think how long some of us have 'known' each other here, it is almost unbelieveable! I think I first came to the boards when DGS18 was about 3. Or maybe not even that old. Know it was when he was early on traveling to Philadelphia and Cincinatti for exams for his retinoblastoma (cancer of the retinas) and he's had that since he was born. My clearest memory is posting from R McD House in Dayton, OH and there were 'sharks' about and I had missed a good part of the beginning of all that. I'm so glad that our little village is much more of a safe haven today.

Well, I'm missing church b/c we're going to a music thing with ds & ddil, and then to a birthday party of a mutual friend, so it will be a sorta long day, but should be fun. About two hours away, and dh expects me and/or ds to do the driving on the way to the place, so he can read the papers. Then he will be happy to drive back tonight. That's fine... but I do get sleepy driving. Slept about 8 hours last night, so maybe I'll be okay. I know ds is EXHAUSTED. He has been standing in the hot sun most of the past three days, while dh & I have been sitting under a beautiful shade tree.

I should have called dcousin to tell her I had already talked w/music director about having teenagers hang around after service to help us get the fellowship hall chairs/tables ready for the shower... but I didn't. So tired last night, after outdoor festival, I couldn't face phone call of any kind.

Good Morning Dear Ladies,

Woke to the sound of rain of the roof.

And that made me curl up in bed for a few minutes longer.

It's the Friday of my work week.

Found magnifying sunglasses at WM yesterday. Got a pair and now I can sit in the sunshine and read on the porch.

Going to help Dbrother with his morning routine.

I think I started posting on SHE board in 1997. 15 years! I didn't realize it had been that long ago.

This morning I starched & ironed LO shirt and jeans. Polished his boots. Dressed him including tucking in shirt with belt on. He looked soooo good for approximately 3 minutes. Little boys and playing with wet dogs do NOT equal neatness.

Breakfast was portion control servings of scrambled sausage & eggs, banana & pear.
Lunch menu is beef stir fry & rice
Supper menu is chicken breast, baked beans and greens of some sort.

If all is quiet when LO takes a nap today, I'm going to DParents with my laptop so they can watch DBrother video. I assumed they watched it after his death, but DMom recently told me they didn't know how to play DVD so they never have seen it. I suspect they weren't ready to watch it until now, or they would have said something.

Today while the coffee brewed. I watched a squirrel eating apple & pear cores, the avacado pit
was gone we put out for them.

We watched the movie "The Horse Whisperer" again last night. I think now I'm thinking
that I want to read the book it's a novel.

I need to get ready for church after missing last week it would be way to easy to be in the skipping church habit again and loose a whole summer.

Took a nap yesterday after weeding part of a bed in the back yard, read a Few chapters in a book I have going.
