I'm back home. We sang a lot at our service and then went to the second church and stayed until after the anthem.

Debated going out for lunch but that made no sense because dh will want to sun soon, so took last night's movie back to the video store, took out another movie for tonight and then came home. My lasagna is almost finished heating. Because we have the movie, we'll stay home tonight and not drive to the Seaway for dinner. There's a lot of driving (1K miles) at the end of this week plus three trips into the city, one each day this week. So we'll stay home today. I've got steaks defrosting now for dinner and the rest of the meal planned.

Today I'm going to start packing for the trip. I'm planning on bringing a lot of cooking stuff so need to cut way back on the other things. We still have to make room for dd and dsil in our car on the way back to Halifax so we can't fill up the car entirely. And our Prius really has very little room in the back unless you put the seats down. The new Prius V will probably be our next car (we'll buy a used one a few years from now) because it has more storage room due to it being a proper wagon and not a hatch back.

I don't mind being "Elly" (not my real name). Bet we all remember Elly May Clampett!

Ooops -- I just started that on my own -- calling ellyphant "elly" -- sorta like we shorten Emptynester to MT... glad to see ellyphant doesn't mind!

LONG DAY... after lunch, dmom wanted us to come out to their house for ddad to open gifts... and I guess so we could spend a little more time w/dbro.
Well... ds/ddil wanted to go home and change clothes, so dh leaped at that opportunity for US to go home also and wait until the Braves' game was over.
So... home... VERY short nap... back out to dparents -- which is about 7 miles away, not an extreme distance by any means, but not just across the street, either, you know... and we spent about an hour there. Then to dmil's... and now home again, waiting on ds to call and say whether or not he & ddil want to go to movie tonight.
IF they do, we may go see Bernie again, b/c I want to see it with them & dbro. But if they don't want to go, we may just all pass on going out again tonight. (DH doesn't REALLY want to see it a 2nd time, so he is undecided about what he wants to do. He gets so irritated with all the stuff he has to do that he doesn't want to do on Father's Day, that he may be happy just to wave goodbye to us all, LOL. He told me to set the "ground rules" with dmom next year: either we eat at the restaurant or we go to their house, but please, not both, b/c that takes all afternoon! * sigh *)
Dbro goes back home tomorrow afternoon.

I did not realized bsweet's daughter was getting married! How did I miss that? So excited for all of you, bsweet!!!

DS-A, DDIL (a very pregnant ddil), DSGD12 & DGS12 all came down this afternoon. DS really gave dh the best present he could ask for. He (and DGS) helped dh get the water wheel moved into place on the berm AND running! How many years have we waited for the berm to be ready for this?

DDIL went in to ER Saturday night -she'd been having bad back spasms. They wanted to be sure she wasn't having 'back' labor. Gave her something to help releive her back that wouldn't harm the baby. DS is a real cut-up and she said it dawned on her this week that DGS & DSGD will be going off to college about the time this little guy is really 'learning' and "I'll be stuck with 2 A's". DGS said no way, he's going to 'train' this baby to do it all 'right'.

We've got heavy rain forecast and I showed DS on the radar and they decided to high-tail it for home -especially since everything is open. He didn't think it was supposed to rain. Oh yeah!

We do shorten names here and I've never given it much thought. Mine- DeeClutter shortened to Dee. And I love that; often sign cards to dh with Dee (especially since my real name starts with D). I sometimes shorten yours to "Lucy".

Yes, I definitely don't mind being called just "lucy." Reminds me of Lucille Ball, I guess. She got into worse situations that I could ever DREAM of, LOL!

Dh and I had nice dinner on the balcony again. I really do love eating out there - it is shaded and private since the trees have grown up so much over the years. There are no apples on either apple tree this year. We had a major frost just as the blooms were coming out and the apple crop is hard hit all over.

After dinner I cleaned up the kitchen and then we watched Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. It was a tough movie to follow since the flashbacks were so close to real time so it always took a moment to remember where in the timeline the scene fit. From across the room, I couldn't read the subtitles when they were talking Russian so dh had to read those for me.

Garbage and recycle is now all out and we are off to bed. Big day tomorrow. And I haven't packed a thing yet.

Windy afternoon bbq was out so just skipped dinner had enough at lunch buffet see J&C for more info. on my days ups and downs.

We have watered some I need to pay attn. to house work but have been in a slump and not been doing enough inside sigh not sure what to do about getting on with the stuff I've not done. 80's here muggy and not used to it. t-storms and rain plus 20* cooler on Mon. may help! Took one blanket off the bed so hoping we sleep better.
