Today dd2s 2 kilns and inventory is being delivered. Yesterday the electrician installed the extra necessary outlets for it. Her dh has been wonderful help the last 3 weeks. Yesterday he put together 5 sets of shelves for the inventory. The floor looks wonderful. Her vision is really taking shape. I just hope that she can find
"studio assistants".

helia, that is wonderful that your ds can attend the university so close to home, but still have the dorm experience. My dgs18 is a senior. He is wanting to go to one of our state universities next year and it's about 5 hours from here. He has A spergers and we are all nervous, except for his parents (dd1 and her dh). Sometimes they seem clueless about how naive and innocent he really is. He is really smart but he has no street smarts or common sense. It just terrifies us to think of him on his own.

Seems like 'forever' ago that we had "pulse" dial, Kathryn. Know it's been a good number of years. Of course now all we have is our cell phones. Actually that's all DD or DS-R have as well. DD took her wall phone out so that gd then about 12 couldn't abuse it. Think DS took his out for the same reason for his then 17 yr old step-dd.

Thinking about dfriend who lost her dh in accident down the street last July. A preliminary hearing is being held today to do with the evidence to be presented at other driver's trial next week. DDIL was going to try to get down to the courtroom to see her before proceedings today. Her 1 son is on vacation in the Villages (FL) but planned to be back for the trial. This just came up yesterday. She wasn't really sure what was happening today, but DDIL was able to talk to the Victim Assistance person and got the 'scoop' on what was happening today. Dfriend just knew she had to be there today. Should be going on right now so am praying for her as I type.

Guess I'll get the stuff around for dh's passport and that'll be ready to go out the door. Have to go later and pick up DS-A's pay checks from the mail (for his employees), get them signed and left for his 'foreman'. Also wanted me to see if any payments had come in and put them in the bank for him. (They went to Gettysburg Monday for a few days).

Absolutely understand that fear, Lilac. Our dgs19 went to college last year and is legally blind. Transportation for anything is a big problem for him. He's been having struggles through the year and dropped out mid-year. I understand he's supposed to be going back.

Next Friday is dShelley's birthday. DH's DB & DSIL are to arrive t hat day. Still haven't decided where to 'put' them (our RV or DD's MH). I'd love to have dgd17 come spend a day with us, but it's also her Dad's birthday. (Way back when, we tried to talk them into getting married on Sept 7th -told exSIL he would never be able to forget her birthday or their anniversary that way. -Didn't work) We were really hoping by postponing it (from April 6th) until then they might change their minds. The 7th was on a SAturday that year.

I'm just sitting here procrastinating so guess I'll put together another 5x5 and go do something on it. Certainly have lots of time before 5 o'clock. :?

5x5 (2nd set for today)

1. Clean top shelf of bathroom 'washer' closet -♫
2. Clean bottom shelf of bathroom washer closet -♫
3. Clean bedroom ceiling fan -♫
4. Wipe down patio door/window -♫
5. Clean patio door track -♫
(6) Put vinegar through coffee maker -♫

Hmmm....decided to wait for dh. I have a '5 minute' job for him first (probably not that long). The washer closet had 2 rods in it. I use the bottom one to hang hats (it's just below the 2 shelves we put in. There's actually another shelf standing on the side of the closet, but don't have room for it I don't think). The top rod is about 2 1/2" above the top shelf so I can't slide anything back on it. It would give us a lot more room for those things we seldom use if dh will just unscrew the 2 screws in each side of that. Hmmm... might be able to mount that behind the present rod for more hat storage. I'll have to look. Dh will love me!

54*-81* Today's temp. range.

The smell of smoke has sifted into the house from the fires in the area. It's better outside must have rained to clear the air. So I opened up the windows & now it's better.

I'm up at sixish just getting light out up before the neighbors dogs so they no longer bother me! coffee is made I've had my meds. & breakfast.

H. is working.
I've rinsed the dishes in the sink from last night did not do a p.m. routine.

My back feels better today.
I finished a puppet last evening that's three this week.
I'm reading back yd. chickens to get flock wisdom.

My 'bit of wisdom' for today is a new thing I'm trying. After cleaning the fridge (dh cleaned the freezer for me last week), I put in some of the paper size trays I bought at flea market in FL. Have a lot of the small containers on them so I can just pull the tray(s) out. I have glass shelves so there was no circulation issue. Think this will WORK! :P

Just talked to dh and he's on his way. Will take out the closet rod when he gets here. I realized we will be much more able to utilize that shelf for storage if we can use the WHOLE shelf all the way back. Will use baskets or shallow baskets up there so I can access stuff at the back.

Good morning! My bit of wisdom for today is "Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks!" The family is very proud of me for recently teaching myself how to take a photo with my very basic phone and have that photo as my new wallpaper on phone. It's the first photo I've ever taken on purpose with said phone! I didn't even read the manual--haha--not bragging about that, though.

Dee, I also need to update mine and DH's passports. They will expire soon.

Need to pickup movies at library and get groceries today. Meant to go early...oh, well.

Done with 2 of my 5x5s:

My 5X5s:

X 1. Finish shopping with ds
2. Get the car washed

X 3. water the houseplants
4. exercise of some form or another (this may happen after 5)
5. Get the van packed with ds' things (this almost certainly will happen after 5)

I've also finished my a.m. routine, replied to a catch up fb message from a friend I haven't heard from in years, swiped down the 2 upstairs bathroom sinks and counters.

WTG, elly!!

Lunch is next!

My wisdom also involves phones and cameras and the old adage: if at first you don't succeed, try, try, again."

Our kitchen cordless would no longer dial out because the default is set to touch tone (we take the battery out when traveling so that reset it.) I went to reprogram it and couldn't figure that out without the manual. Couldn't find the manual.

No model number on the outside of the phone so I turned the base over to see if it was there. Can't read anything, it is a dark corner. So I took a photo of the base and used that to read the model number (plus I could have the camera next my computer.

Used the computer to look up a manual for the phone, read the instructions (I was doing it right, turns out more than just the on and off buttons are flaky on the phone) but now confident that I was hitting the right button, I kept trying until I got it to work.

So have reset the phone (until the next time we travel!)

I read the manual for the second phone I had bought and decided not to keep it. I can't program each line to pulse or tone. I'm also a bit nervous about the phone because the box is resealed which makes me wonder why the person returned the phone in the first place. We have such bad phone karma, I hate to mess with an open box. (I had removed the manual by opening the bottom of the box, so the box still looks sealed - I'm tricky that way!)

BTW: my clock just chimed noon and I'm still not s2s.

Dee: I love your bit of wisdom. Am thinking whether or not I have small trays like that.

I had a bunch, Kathryn, that I used to put dh's lunch on. But they're the same as I bought in FL when you had suggested using 'trays' to sort paper work on. That also worked very well and those trays are still in FL. I'm finding (already) that these trays are working GREAT! Just pull one toward me and I can reach the stuff in back without moving everything. The base is paper sized and the sides slant up and have an open handle on each end. Of course it was one of these famous trays that was holding the infamous watermelon when it leaked all over and flowed out through said handles!

These are easily bought for a $1.00 at almost any flea market in FL. So easy to come by -when we're in FL.

It will also be easy to clean the fridge as I can just slide the tray out and wash the glass shelf if need be. And of course any spills will easily be wiped from the trays. Win/win for me! :D

Think I'm going to find a place to go read for a bit. Too many bees outside, dh is in the recliner, dgs7 has the couch and I'm at the table with the laptop. I might even go stretch out on the bed and read a little before my eyes fall closed.

Dneighbor on the right side of us just called to ask dh to go in and move a throw rug before camper repairman puts her slides in sometime today. All her hydraulic oil had leaked & he fixed that yesterday, now has to fill with the oil and needs to put the slides in & out to lubricate. Have to remind dh to do that before we go for his passport.

Then DS-A just called to see what time I'm going to go to his house for checks, etc. Can't go until about 2:30 -he's hoping for about $3,000 in checks to cover payroll. Sure hope so, because we can't help.
