Amused at TaDas from lucylee last evening, interrupted for a nap which she also bullet-ed as a TaDa. I agree with that philosophy.

I'm amazed at the shopping stacking up for me. I need to hit Tarjay for a return and the vitamin store for a return. But I need to hit WM because only they have the new humidifier we need, plus they have the new C wrapping paper I'm not going to buy. Much. I also have a B e l k gift card, silly to hold onto until I lose it. These represent very different travel directions.

I've been vacuuming this morning. Have the hallway spiffed, too.

HRH came back through to take my ddad out for "lunch". (milkshake) while he runs an errand that happens to pass the forty-fancy-flavors drive-through milkshake place.

This allowed me to go into my ddad's room for housekeeping by surprise. So, fast fast, dusting, vacuuming, going through clothes he says aren't dirty, searching for the lost hearing aid again (sigh - no), changing out the trash can liner and letting in some fresh air.

Ran to town with dh, got the mail (a whopping 2 pieces of junk mail), came home to visit with dneighbor while her dh hooked up the dolly & car, said goodbye to them, and did our dishes. Have dh's checks ready to deposit. Have to leave in little over an hour for perm. Want to stop by the bank on the way. Our bank will be closed entirely the end of November. Had thought of changing to the bank that will be coming in but realized the reason we've stayed with THIS bank is because it's all over in FL. Would love to change because they're charging us $14/month for our checking account.

Got our health insurance "choice" yesterday. See it's going up over $50/month plus we have medicare. But I'll not complain because at least we're not paying $900/month or more like too many people we know. At least not yet, and I'm praying we never do. But we're at almost 1/2 that now -up a ways from the $43/month we started out at when dh retired from K odak. DH has to take an annuity for the last year he worked there -amounted to enough to more than pay our lot rent here. This coming year we should have $2/month left after they take health insurance out. THink it's going to be a LONG ways from covering our rent.

Think I'll work on my council minutes until it's lunch time and time to leave.

I'll pray you find that hearing aid, Harriet while I'm (still) praying to find that necklace and the combination to our safe. I know, I know -I should have it written down somewhere else! I probably do but not sure where that is.

Hope the snow starts after you leave, Dee, & that you have sunny travel days with no wet weather or wind.

I missed what caused your pain, MT, but am glad to read that you're feeling better today.

Well, I missed the conga line here on Friday & yesterday dh approached me for help with a big project so I am playing catch up today. Laundry is spinning, dinner is planned, some vacuuming is done. I have to admit I'm not feeling all that enthusiastic about cleaning chores today, but AM enthusiastic about how much I will love having a clean house when the work is done!

Yesterdays project was cleaning out the shed. I mentioned to dh this summer that I really wanted to get that done this year. I just wish he had given me more notice. In fact, I said no at first because I had other plans for the day but with rain on the way & the fact that dh finally suggested doing it I figured he would be a lot more enthusiastic if this was done on his time schedule than if I had to bug him about it down the road.

Ever see Pam & Peggy's dejunking video, where they empty a drawer, clean it, & then put back only what was necessary? I approached the shed cleanout the same way, taking out everything. I grouped like items together on the lawn, too, to make it easier to see what we had in each category. It was like a mini archeology dig in the very back of the shed, where things had been tossed & piled & then never touched again . We found things that were over 20 years old, filled an entire pickup truck with junk for the dump, swept out all the cobwebs & old bird seed, & put back only what we use. I'm thrilled at how neat & organized it looks, plus all the space that is in there now! Wish I had thought to take some before & in progress pictures.

Just a few more sips of tea left in my mug. Timer just beeped my five minute warning -- need to flip laundry soon. Waving ~~~~~ to everyone, have a wonderful day!

Hi Harriet! (How did you not appear when I hit the post preview button ?) Thanks for the shopping reminder. I have been ignoring the fact that Christmas is fast approaching & shopping is needed! Tar-jay is on my list to hit this week, too.

Dove - Congratulations on a job well done!!!! WOW!

Mammogram for 2012 is done! They had an 8:30am cancellation that enabled me to get in sooner than expected. Afterwards I did list shopping (only buying items on my list). But it still took sooooo long (over 3 hours of shopping). There was several items I couldn't put off so I just mentally held my nose and went through it as fast as I could. On the way home I stopped by DParents and dropped off the prescriptions I had picked up for them and also a pretty fall mum to cheer up the room DDad spends 99% of his time in.

Lunch was leftovers from yesterday (spaghetti, meatballs & salad). Easy and fast.

Going to put my toes up for an hour then it will be time to pick LO up from school and do evening cards.

My day took an unplanned turn -- not a bad one, just not originally planned. At 9 a.m., 4 friends from church showed up at our house to load the crate into a U Haul trailer. It was quite an operation, but with dh's help, they got the crate in. Dh quickly constructed braces to keep the crate from shifting around in the trailer. He also had some foam padding to pad the sides. Dfriend, one of the people here, was planning to drive the big conversion van borrowed from other friends to take the trailer to a town about an hour away where someone else would meet her to take the trailer off her hands. People in the other town are eventually going to take the laser machine, along with some other stuff, down to IN where the shipping container is currently located. B/c dfriend's dh (also here this a.m.) had to leave to catch a flight, she would be driving alone for an hour+ on the interstate in a new-to-her large vehicle while pulling a trailer, another new experience for her, with her 3yo dd in tow. So, I asked if she would like some company -- and she (and especially her dh) were delighted with that offer. So, I have just spent a few hours driving with her and her lovely dd3. We found the person we were supposed to find and the trailer has been dropped off. Except, dh forgot to throw the wheels and service records for the machine into the crate, so I'll take those over to dfriend the ophthalmologist's (the eventual recipient of this machine) dfil's office, which isn't far from here. We actually called dfriend the ophthal. in France to ask what he wanted done with the wheels, and this is what he told us to do. I think they'll get packed in a shipping container of personal items that is nearby. *phew*

So, I am eating lunch while posting. Phone call is in 33 minutes. I'm going to drop off wheels before then and hopefully get the a.m. routine done.

I don't see a jog happening today. . .. Tomorrow is better for me schedule-wise anyway.

I was able to unpack some of the things we bought this summer. Wall hanging/light for bedroom needed to be re-assembled so I did that. It looks really good (or it would if the pile of "what do I do with these" shirts were off the top of the dresser.

I also stitched some more on DGD#6's present.

Need to go unpack more from MH. I know I bought some salt and pepper shakers and I want to put them on the table with some other decor. (Need to dejunk table first)

Then - - - tada - - - DH said I could call and make an appointment with man to give us estimate for re-doing kitchen. So you know I'm going to do that first. LOL

HaHa, Dove, little kiddy pool. Went out and flipped to other side. Later, it rained, came really quick and I didn't have time to bring it in and now it's soaked again. I don't want to fold it for storage until it's completely dry. It's a vinyl pool with an inflatable ring around the top.

I ran out to do some shopping, and DH called, "I thought you'd be home"..so I had to scurry back. Knew he wanted to do some stuff. I've been "remembering" stuff for him all afternoon; worked up a statement and got that emailed off...answered a zillion questions... he just ordered another set of truck tires. That makes 4 tires bought this month, and they aren't cheap, especially the 2 bigger ones.

Been trying to take a rest, but gave up several times. Going to try again.

Harriet, I worked in an assisted living place up north for a while. We had one woman who had dementia and she used to wrap up her leftover food in her napkin. One day she wrapped up her false teeth with the food and out they went. Never were found, and family declined to buy her another set. Your DDad's hearing aid made me think of this. He surely didn't throw it out, did he?

I'm at the cafe near dd14's oboe teacher's house.

Dee, I think you asked about weather here next week. It looks like it will be cold here, but not snow-like cold; expected highs are in the 40-50 range, lows 32-37, and it looks like 0% precipitation Sunday - Wed., 40% chance on Thursday, and that is as far as I could see. This week is warm!! We're at 70 at 5:30 right now and are predicted to get up to 77 tomorrow, 75 on Thursday. Then, our highs dip down 20 degrees to the 50s starting on Friday. I'm noting that tomorrow will be a great day for me to finish yard work. I'd better take the opportunity.

I'm going to use my remaining time here to email my friend B, make a li&t for the week, and then read - if I have time.

Dd14 wants to go to JoAnn Fabrics after her lessons. Apparently, she volunteered to sew a bear costume for a new (Korean!) friend at school for Halloween, and she wants to buy the fleece material today. It's not clear if the friend is paying for the material or not. Hmmm........ She only has a little over a week, but I know it makes her happy to have a project going on. I just hope her hw load is manageable for the next week. After JoAnn's, dd14 has requested dinner at a favorite Thai restaurant. Unfortunately, I got into the Skinny Pop popcorn this afternoon and likely ate enough points that I can't eat Thai food and stay on my points. Oh, well; I will do my best.

Harmony, this has been on my mind. Before, during and after the time the others were at the dr's, we've had arguments about the hearing aids. He wouldn't allow the now-lost one to go to the dr with those, because he said it worked fine. But when the others were back and in such good shape, at one point he was disappointed in the now-lost one, saying it wasn't as good. I'm wondering if he might have decided then that it was useless compared to newly-refurbished ones and thrown it out, forgetting that it would only need to be checked by the dr, too. I guess I don't have to tell you how much one of these costs....

It also occurs to me that if it accidentally fell into the toilet it would probably flush easily away. I'm certain it was never in any trash bag taken out of his room, but it could have been in the kitchen trash, even that very day, when we were still so certain we were going to find it easily. I've tried reaching down into the couch, but maybe not carefully/deep enough. I hate that chore. ~~~ The fear of the unknooown! ~~~
