Tuesday TaDa's

Today my character study is on Enthusiasm vs apathy
Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hope rise to the stars.

Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, it is the swing in your gait, the grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of your will and your energy to execute your ideas.

Enthusiasts are fighters. They have fortitude. They have staying qualities.

Enthusiasm is at the bottom of all progress!

You are amazing OK! 25 CCC by 6 a.m.?! I've been up for about 5o minutes and I haven't done much other than say good bye to the girls, have my 1st mug of tea, give the cat her food w/ meds, and toodle a bit here and on fb.

Enthusiasm as described here sounds related to joy, which I also find energizing and hope-giving! Hope - that is big, at least for me.

Today: I do feel enthusiastic b/c there is nothing pressing on my plate today. At 3 pm dh and I are going to have a conference call w/ dd17's counselor. Then, dd14 has an oboe lesson at 4:45. It is also date night tonight! I get to take dd14 out, so we'll probably go right after her lesson. I'd like to fit in a jog, maybe this afternoon. And dh says someone is coming to pick up the crate (w/ the laser inside), but it is a woman and he is having trouble finding men to help move it. Dh, myself, and this friend are not enough man power to move the crate into a pick up truck -- so, maybe the pick up won't happen today. :?: Both dh and I have mild back issues.

I guess I'd better get cracking!

Well... all right... I'm trying...
I am just NOT a morning person. (Of course, I guess y'all are saying, well, she's not much of an evening person, either, is she?) :oops:

Today when I leave school, I need to run by the 10 minute oil change place, get the oil changed in the SUV, order pizzas for tonight & go pick those up, then bday party for ds/dsisil, and then... IF there is any time and enthusiasm left at all...
* reconcile checkbook/statement
* exercise
* grade papers

I really, really need to vacuum the house, but I'm going to try to do that tomorrow, if I can get home before dh.
Also, still have some ironing piled up that I need to do.
(I bet y'all get so tired of seeing me have the same "to-do's" every single day for a month... :oops:
Anyway... maybe I can turn at least a few of these to-do's into ta-da's before bedtime!

Feeling kinda bad re: dsisil's present. She always gets me such nice stuff... for my bday she gave me TWO nice sweaters and a bar of decorative/designer soap.
For HER bday, I am giving her a little tiny necklace & $25.
I should just always give her $$$ b/c she is such a good shopper. My sweaters came from T J M axx, so I know she didn't spend much more (if any more) on me than I am spending on her, but her gifts always LOOK like sooo much more.
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee, your gifts sound fine.

Y'all know I'm not a morning person. Apparently I'm not an evening person either any more. I did manage to get the dishwasher loaded (which means I didn't do it last evening or hand wash anything). I moved the swimming pool outside to different spot and flipped so both sides would dry before I put it away. I got both big beach towels in the wash. I got a bunch of stuff done at my desk.

I'm still waiting the hour before I can eat (new med has to be taken by itself with no food for an hour.) I wait for coffee now too, and I'm finding this first hour most difficult.

I've been trying to send a fax but I guess their number changed. Guess I'll call them first.

I'm not a morning nor evening person. Not much of an afternoon person either!

I'm up. Skipped exercises. Will get to volunteering late but since it is just me, that doesn't matter.

Our friend in upstate NY died last night so I suspect we'll be going away again soon. At least for an overnight.

In other news: last May I bought a 2-pack of Sony earbuds from Costco. My mp3 player is Sony but I don't use its ear buds on a regular basis because they are noise cancelling and I sleep in my earbuds so am hard on them. Continued to use the set from the broken mp3 player but they were getting a bit iffy so bought backups.

They failed while I was away but I had my noise canceling ones (for the plane) so used them. When I got home last night, I plugged in the new ones I had. Didn't work. Grabbed the ones off my exercise bike and went to sleep. Today I tried the earbuds in my phone and my computer and in my computer with a splitter. No luck - they don't work. Then I dug out the second pair, still in their packaging. They don't work in my computer either (didn't bother to try it anywhere else.)

So there's a problem with the style of plug. What's weird is that they don't work with a Sony Walkman. Sometimes plugs are a bit finicky but these say Walkman on them so they are designed for it. Sigh.... It is 5 months, 1 day, since I bought them. I don't have the receipt but have all the purchase info since I keep track of every penny spent in Quicken, so I'm taking both sets back today. Wish me luck with that.

Next step, breakfast.

Enthusiasm is at the bottom of all progress!
I especially like that last line, Okay. I WILL be enthusiastic today! That's the only way I'll ever be ready to go in 1 week. DH said he feels really comfortable about the whole campground EXCEPT our own RV! :lol: I'll bet he doesn't have as much to get done here as he thinks he does. He's still undecided whether to cover the AC units. I'm betting he does.

Guess what the weather is rumored to be next Wednesday? "Lake effect snow". Yep, that's the day we're leaving -I HATE TRAVELING IN SNOW! But it may hit more toward the eastern provinces and Maine -hate for anyone to get it. Guess a strong cold front is going through. Do you know what your weather is supposed to be in a week, Helia/Mystery? We usually are in line after you. Indiana used to be a very good gauge.

It's raining today -has been since around 4a.m. We've had about 4/10" so far. And someone called and wants dh to winterize their RV today. :roll: One of the last couples (here) that dh talked to this morning had no idea the water was being shut off on Monday. "But we have till the 31st". This is true but they have the option of filling their holding tank -"Oh yeah!" So maybe we won't be the last ones out. Usually someone like that decides they want to get outta Dodge before the really bad weather strikes.

Talked to dd for about 45 minutes last night. I foresee a lot of time spent in our room -that's alright, I have plenty of projects to work on. I am planning to get all of the 3 kids' pictures in order (I have them separated as to person) and scan them into my computer and put them on a flash drive for each of them -probably for NEXT Christmas.

DSisiL called yesterday -don't think she's too happy with us -that we're not going to the beach with them this year. I LOVE the beach -but I don't like to go just sit in a hotel for 3 or 4 days. Because of my knees and sciatic it's hard to walk in the sand for very long either. Love it, but..........

Here's dh. We're going into town for some materials for the campground. BBL. Have to skip down and say goodbye to our dneighbor too. I'm sure they're getting a later start because of the weather. Wouldn't surprise me if they decided not to go at all today. Tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be stellar, especially Thursday.

DHarmony, please remember to give yourself some recovering time -from having DGD the last many days! If you're anything like me, it will take you at least 3 days to get back to a semblance of normalcy. Plus you've started this new med. DD has to wait an hour too -she's taking thyroid as well.

Thanks to ice, rest and OTC pain meds I feel pretty good this morning. I also got a good night's sleep in my bed for a change.

I've already made up my hummer food so I can hang my new hummer feeders today.

Next up is a shower and breakfast and then I'll look at the list I made last week to see what still needs to be done. I know I have to go thru a bunch of jeans to see what still fits. The rest will go in the good will bag.

After that - I might let myself unpack some of the goodies from the MH. I really want to see what they look like in the house.

Oh, BEFORE all that. I need to write my blog. I haven't written in it at all since we got home and I even had my cousin from CA call to see if we were all right.

Good morning!

It is suppose to be in the 80's today and tomorrow. Then it will be low 50's, maybe high 40's.

Dd2 and I didn't go to neighboring town yesterday. I ran a few errands and then raked leaves. I had 4 large industrial sized bags. I had kept squishing them down and then emptied them in the dumpster. The problem is, that was just the beginning of the fallen leaves. I will try to stay on top of them. I need to get gas for the mower, because it's really easier to just mow, unless they just carpet the yard, like they did yesterday.

I need to buy some groceries today. Dh leaves a week from today and will be home election day. Because of that, he will do early voting.

Guess I need to work on some paperwork for awhile.

Good morning, villagers ~

I'm enthusiastic about starting to get caught up on chores at home.

Today I still need to do a bit of follow-up from Saturday's library event and run errands because we need groceries.

After today, I'm hoping to be able to spend the rest of the week decluttering and cleaning.
