It is kind of ironic; I have this lovely empty day ahead of me and I'm having trouble getting going. Partially, that is b/c dh has been at home -- he left almost an hour ago. Partially, I was really tired this a.m. I almost went back to bed. I don't know why I was so tired. . . Dfriend B called and I chatted with her for a while.

WTG with your exercise, Kathryn! I agree with others, it sounds like you're getting better! I like the idea of strictly scheduled hours. Maybe I'll try that to help keep myself on track.

Good for you for getting your mammogram, Twins.

I am way behind on everything; I think accompanying dfriend yesterday took a bigger bite out of my schedule than I had anticipated. I'm still glad I went.

Next for me:
-make li&t for the day while finishing tea
-go to the groc. store and WF; WF's honeycrisp apples are hands down more flavorful than my regular grocery's honeycrisps.

Wishing you good results on your mammogram, Twins. You too, Okay. Always such a relief when that comes back okay.

I have been back from my Dr. appointment for a little while. Lab work results were pretty good. HDL was excellent (58). Can't remember what the LDL was. A1C was a little high and she prescribed an additional diabetic med (metformin) to be taken once a day. Have a feeling I may not be on it too long as my numbers are good again. Sure that's due to having lost weight. (17lbs since July so far) I feel really good about that and feel I can continue that trend. Got my flu shot. DGS13 asked if I was immunized against whooping cough & I asked her -yep, last year when I got my tetanus shot. Don't even remember getting that.

Dfriend sent more food over with dh this morning. Potato soup, chili sauce (tried it & YUM!) and a pasta dish that I had a little taste of -also YUM! Was wondering what we were going to do about dinner. Now I know. This guy is a fantastic cook and just loves doing it for lots of people.

Have to take dh to meet a friend who is going to pick up DGS7's John Deere tractor. DH gave it to him (& DS-R) for Christmas about 3 years ago. It needs some work done. I imagine that eventually DS will sell it and put the money toward dgs's college fund. It had been in our garage for several years awaiting restoration. When we sold our house it had to be moved and that's where it went. Actually dh had already gifted it to them, it was just still at our house.

Have to go rest my back for a few then it's getting down to the real packing. When I take dh to meet friend, I'll continue on to the drugstore for my prescription. She sent a 90-day to Med Co as well, but wanted me to get started on it.

Progressing well here. In fact, I'm a little ahead. Dh just invited me to come with him to run errands and I'd love to except it would mess up the successful rhythm of the day.

Lunch is just over and I have 8 extra minutes. The kitchen was cleaned this morning so I'm working at keeping it that way.

My next task is an hour of paperwork so I'll be able to listen watch some Daily Show while I do that. Then my nap for an hour.

I wish I could make a schedule and keep to it. I just never know when everything is going to change quickly. Like today, DH came in from job and I helped load his truck. I try to get back to whatever I was doing, but sometime the momentum is gone or I get tired.

Just puttering around today, doing some sewing too.

Keeping up with our paperwork is a necessity around here. Sometimes it takes me a half hour, sometimes two. But if it isn't relatively current, then it's a mess when I need information or paperwork to document something. Suppliers and subs need paid timely and I must keep those records copied to their specific job so doing statements doesn't take hours and hours. It saves me time to keep it up. OKay, you will get caught up. Somehow we always do!

Well, all the lab work,Helia, was good EXCEPT the A1C (Blood sugars over 3 months). I was doing well until about 3 months ago and then have done very well for over 5 weeks. That was a little high, but I'm sure it'll stay down with the continued weight loss. Dr has put me on metformin in addition to the glipizide I already take. I'm hoping it won't be "long term". I don't understand the daily readout on my meter(s) which was 97 yesterday, but registered 144 when I had my blood work done (fasting.) I know both meters can't be wrong. I used both just to check. I purposely asked her about the kidney function because last year the number was a 'little' elevated. She told me not to take any ibuprofen (such as A dvil, A leeve, etc) any more. That number was the same this year so is stable. I really want that not to go up. As it does, that's when one heads toward dialysis. She said the numbers go from 1-5, 5 needing the dialysis and I'm at 2. But that's right where it was a year ago. I've been much more careful about taking any pain meds at all, if I can help it.

Helps that I've never been a smoker and don't have any alcohol. I used to have maybe 1 or 2 glasses of wine -a year, but don't even have that now.

Just had the most heavenly potato soup -made by our friend. Yum, yum, yum! DH finished off the Italian wedding soup that he'd given us. He really liked that.

Now I'm behind schedule. Four phone calls while trying to do the data entry slowed me down.

I didn't get it all finished. And that was just one small task of a lot of tasks.

But off to bed now. Naps are non-negotiable here.

Happy Wonderful Treasures Wednesday, Villagers! :D

What wonderful words to start out Wed. by, Twins' Mom! Thank you for that! :D

Also, glad you got your mammogram, too. I hope you'll find wonderful treasures today, too. :)

Kathryn, Good luck on following your schedule, too! I hope it works out for you today! :D Oh! 4 phone calls now! That will slow the schedule down all right.

Lucylee, It's great that you got so much ironing done! WOW! :D

Dee, You're sure a busy bee. Sorry about your lab result. Your doctor sounds like a very good one. I hope your next A1C comes down. :D

OKay, You're sure working hard on your paperwork.

I had boxes labeled with post-it notes, on top of my one spare room desk, for sorting, filing, acting upon, etc... I did a lot, am down to 1 box now, but I still have files. I set up card making on the desk, so I had incentive to get rid of those boxes, which DH took back out to the garage.

MT, ACK! A street sweeper alarm clock doesn't sound fun! Maybe Thurs. will be better. :D

Helia, Glad you got out with your bfriend, but sorry you got behind in your work. You're so productive today! You're making up for lost time! WTG! :D

When I go out with DH, I'm glad to get out, but I, too, get behind in my work and it makes deciding whether to go or stay a hard decision. :?:

Harmony, I know what you mean about making a schedule and keeping to it. Then things pop up, to interrupt the schedule!

I try to do routines, but I don't adhere to them closely, like I'm obsessed. I try to keep flexible because DH is retired and he's spontaneous. I love to schedule things, have a to do list and my cards, but there are those days when certain planned things don't get done, but other things, like a Wonderful Treasure happens or gets done instead. ;)

My PODA:
- to make more Autumn cards w/letters
- to sort the laundry, to check if I have a load
- to work on a story
- to do stretches and walk 1/2 hour

Have a Wonderful Treasures Wednesday, Everyone! :D

Two steps forward, one step back.........dancing a little jig because a smile with a little silliness is sometimes necessary.

LO counselor appt went well. She said he is doing so well that we should push the "pause" button on future appts until/unless something overwhelms him. We will take him in 2 weeks for one more appt then make the decision to stop.

Drat! I guess I didn't study well enough for my mammogram test. They called and want me to come back early Friday for more mammogram views on left side. :? :D This has happened before so I'm not particularly concerned. I would rather them do unnecessary follow up then to miss something. I have plenty of time to worry if I flunk the mammogram the 2nd go-round.

Talked to lawyer office. Nothing new. I guess no news is good news.

On way back from returning LO to school, I stopped and peeked into front windows of vacant 2 story house for sale. I hadn't been there 10 seconds when the Realtor (our neighbor on other side of section of land) drove by and stopped to see if I wanted to look at it. She took me on a tour through the house and I enjoyed looking and visiting with her. I guess we visited longer than normal and stayed too long...........because the local police stopped and knocked on door to see if we were okay.

I am making NO headway on cards and/or paperwork today. Being this far behind is embarrassing. Thankfully payments/bills are automatic deducted or we would really be in bad shape. The checking accounts have enough in them to be able to ignore them without overdrawn fears. HOWEVER, eventually if all has to be accounted for and brought up to date. Today I got a call on medical bill because I paid too much. I can't agree or deny it....because my accounting is sooo FAR BEHIND. Septembers estimated taxes paid was just a number I pulled out of the air...then added extra in case I was wrong. I'm sure the IRS won't complain if I paid them too much. LOL! I'm being silly because it is easier than being sad.

I like Kathryn's attitude on naps. They are non-negotiable. I have 23 minutes to put toes-up before going to pick up LO
