Good morning! I'm thankful that our tree is down! The artificial ones shed as much as a real one sometimes. Our room is more spacious than I remembered. All my rearranging has helped. Hung some old curtain panels I had...looks better in there!

Got busy with jigsaw puzzles DD gave us. That cuts into my computer time.

Dee, you are amazing! I didn't realize you had bypass surgery so long ago.

Okay, I like the sound of your new pink gun. My great grandmother had a little pearl handled revolver that she carried. We have a couple of shotguns here for home defense. Bought the first one back in the 90's when we lived where there had been some home invasions. DH used to like to shoot sporting clays with them.

I have a plan for supper...eggs and pancakes with blueberry syrup. I always feel that as long as I know what's for supper, that is half the battle!

Have a great day, ladies!

This is a good one for me today: thankfulness. Dh has been very hurt by his d family and when these things happen it is easy to forget thankfulness (and generally I am very thankful). it's hard to see you loved ones in pain and then remember to be thankful and seeing things clearly instead of with the emotion that comes with it.

So turning my thoughts towards thankfulness and gratefulness as I work.

today: floor washing day
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Was talking to dd2 and telling her that I was cleaning today, so that when the bug guy calls, I can say come on over. We hung up and he called. I didn't answer since I haven't started the cleaning. So guess I better hit it, so I can call him later and make an appt for tomorrow.

Hello dear ladies,

Feeling a bit better today, thankful for modern meds that make you feel better. Slept a good undisturbed 6 hours last night, took some more meds and slept some more.

Thinking is still a bit groggy today, might be meds or still sickness. So called in sick already for tonight. Yes WM has a strict attendance policy. I haven't missed in a while so don't think I'll have problems. There are people who call in with far-out excuses and when they really get sick and need time off, that's when they run into problems.

Going to putter as I feel like it. I watched the fish for awhile and they didn't bother me so that is signs of progress.

Back to loafing for now.

Surprise visit from my bosom buddy. She can't visit with anyone who is coughing, sniffling because her dbil is recovering from bone marrow transplant and she goes to see him. Since I answered honestly that I'm still coughing (day 11 of my cold) she wouldn't come in but I put on a coat and stood in the sun in the garage and visited for 30 minutes. It was wonderful to see her again (haven't seen her since the summer but we've had phone calls.)

I need to get something done now since all I've done is update the meal plan calendar. It took three tries but it is in Google Calendar now (that means when I'm out shopping I can tell if what's coming up and what ingredients I might need.)

After I do two chores, I'll take a break and have some veggies and hummus for my second lunch snack (my first lunch snack was some popcorn.)

Morning ya'll...

I am thankful I could stay all snuggled up and warm in my bed this morning instead of having to jump out and head to work. And everyday I am thankful for my morning cups of coffee that I get to drink without having to gulp it down. :D

Harriet...I can't tell you how many times, especially on Monday mornings, that my boys would panic because they had left their pocket knives in their jacket's pocket. Sometimes my boys would be waiting for me at my classroom door. I would walk with them to the school office so they could leave their pocket knives with the secretary for the rest of the day. You'd be surprised what could be found in the secretary's desk drawers. :D

Nancy...I never thought I would enjoy learning about chickens as much as I have with you . :D

We are expecting very cold weather here for the next few days. Temp. highs are to be at 50*. And it is being predicted that we will have 4 nights of 30* weather. I've been told the last time that happened was in 1988. Several years ago I lost all my trees when the temps dropped below freezing for 3 nights in a row. So today I'm going to be wrapping sheets around the trunks of my trees and taping them closed. I was told that this will help the trees stay warm. Last time I thought it was the leaves I had to protect. I didn't know any better back then... I bought a bunch of sheets from GW last time and have them stored for just this occasion.

I made Olive Garden Pasta E Fagioli crock pot soup for dinner tonight...I posted the recipe. Made the pasta separate while getting the soup started so everything is done for dinner. Decide to make it before I knew about the cold weather so I think this will taste especially good in the coming days.

Washing my hands, washing my hands, washing my hands....Feel better Sadie. Yeah for you dee. What a relief to get that report done ...MT, dress warm..Its gonna be really cold for around here the next few days.

Cy'all later. Waiting for the sunshine so Willis and I can go walk.

Good afternoon! I was out the door with dd14 today at 7:45. The blood draw was super fast; we were in and out in 10 minutes. Dropped her at school and then headed to the church to set up for moms group. Then, moms group ran until about 11:30, I cleaned up and put away everything -- and then I chatted with 4? church friends for about 30 minutes afterward about high school type stuff. All of us have high schoolers and/or middle schoolers.

I'm finishing some lunch; forgot to take the beef out of the freezer for beef and noodles for the thursday crew tonight, so I did that. I'll need to put the beef in water to make sure it is thawed by the time I need to cook it.

I'm leaving again in about 50 minutes to pick up dd14 and take her to her dermatology appt. Later, I need to get her to rival high school in town (hehe ;) ) by 5:45 for a synchro. meet. They are still doing figure meets and dd14 has told us not to bother attending those; the routine meets start. .. .next week?? Then, friends will be here for dinner around 7, maybe a little beforehand. I think it will be just R - late, depending on his work schedule - and K. SO, I don't have much time at home today, esp. time at home not entertaining visitors -- although, these friends don't need too much entertaining and dh has a pretty good entertaining personality. :D

Speaking of dhs and entertaining friends, how was the visit (last night?) Harriet?

Oh, Cowinkie, the interesting thing about your cold snap is that we are having the exact opposite extremes up here and so we may get up above 50* this weekend! We may actually get warmer than you! --Actually, I don't know exactly where you are, but I think you're in one of the warmer SW states. ((HUGS)) for getting your plants ready.

OK, I'm going to look at my recipes for tonight while finishing my lunch. Then I'll at least do as much of the a.m. routine as I can before heading out the door again.
