We did have a good day at breakfast. Went to friends' home after for about an hour and a half.

Been raining off and on here. Oh gosh! Just looked -have to leave to pick up GD in a few. Have to go a new route now and it takes a little longer (a road is closed for a while). Hoping tonight goes better than this morning.

Maybe dh and I will stop and get a shake on the way. -or maybe not. This could be a dangerous route to take!

Good afternoon ladies! I nearly have a letter ready to go for my my dmom and sis this morning. I have done car pool for dgd and did an errand. Dgd has a bit of a cough so is inside. So we're not going to get to the outside stuff ~ but no prob. as I did my ex. on the stationary bike before I picked her up this morning.

We will need to move the chicks and clean out their box when I have all my helpers here.

I got a new blog post up at least I hope it's up I"m trying to check on it now. It's a bit slow in loading.

Trash can and mail has been brought in.

Good Afternoon, Villager Ladies!

It's cloudy and windy here, got a late start because I got sidetracked! Was downloading dgd crochet patterns, being lazy, but did journal writing and prayers this a.m.

I had DH shave the back of my neck. My hair is about 4" below my shoulders, but on my neck I have a long hairline and when my hair's in a ponytail, the longer hairs show. It's shaved and I shampooed and d2s, too.

I'm doing a large load of laundry, DH is watching an Alaska program and is getting firewood into the indoor bin. He got the mail, I sorted it, but it went to recycle and our addresses on things went to burn.

Have a few stories to work on, but I generally take Tuesdays off, so don't feel like going to work today. Although I'm so "tempted" because I have a cute one about DH and me. I think it'd be more fun to crochet for my Dfriend's b-day and our dgd because she may come home in 1 week - 10 days. I'd love to take a gift bag of new clothes up to her, but since she's got so many 0 - 3 months clothes now, I'd like to concentrate on 3 - 6 months, do some halters, sundresses, jumpers, and hats she can wear this spring/summer. From what I "hear", she's got my long legs and long fingers. I saw her fingers when she was a few days old in NICU and they WERE long! When she comes home, we'll go up to hold her in our arms, which we've not been able to do yet. ♥ (I know I'll cry happy joyous tears, too). ♥ Having a 1st dgd after 7 dgs's is quite a special thing for us.

OKay -- I'll have to research that a little too -- to see if my case really fits the clinical definition. I think I have heard the term used before -- I didn't just make it up, of course -- but no one in a position of authority or knowledge ever told me that was my problem. I've always been kinda "phobic" about lots of stuff... dentist... school... certain social functions... travel w/anyone other than dh... and of course -- EVERYTHING that ever involved change in my life or dson's life!
But seriously -- it WAS pretty bad those first two years of school. And as I told you, my teachers were just WONDERFUL. One of them would hold me in her lap and rub my tummy because I would always complain that "my stomach hurt." And then I had this teacher in 3rd grade, whom everyone sorta FEARED, and dmom was REALLY worried that summer... but somehow she and I just "clicked" and I was just fine from then on.
I had another episode/flare up of it all in high school. I developed an ulcer and had a lot of stomach problems, and I guess I was afraid I would get sick at school, and the doctor said the fear of getting sick was making me sick. I don't know how I overcame that, either.
Well... truthfully... I haven't completely... at times, I know that is the root of almost all of my "social situation" and travel anxieties.BUT. You're kinda right... I have managed to go to college through graduate school, hold a job for 30 years and get married and raise an extremely well-adjusted child. So * whew * at least my craziness didn't rub off on HIM!

ANYWAY... I do really have sympathy for you AND LO... and I do hope he can shrug this off and get back to his normal happy self SOON!!!
Having dh do the school drop off might be a great idea.

I'm so sorry I can't cuop any better than this. A little person just arrived and I need to go visit with him for a little while.

Interesting day.

Spent a bit of the morning emptying the room ds will be moving into. So the rest of the basement is a mess right now.... I took photos of the first round of furniture to be sold and sent them off to the kids (and dfs) so they can speak up if they want pieces. I'm going to empty out the suitcase cupboard and the ones that don't make the cut will be offered to dfs and fiancee because they need luggage for their honeymoon.

Then we headed out. The drive by of the potential buildings was useful. Added a whole street of buildings to the potential list (wrote down some names and will do more google searches.) The two most promising buildings both look dated. The one with the best layout has been eliminated in my mind because there's a zoning application on the house next door to be pulled down and replaced with an 18 storey building. That will mean construction noise and the street blocked from time to time by equipment. The second building is a bit newer, closer to the main street, and the 3 bedroom apartments have windows on two sides so that creates the options of a cross breeze. Plus there's two of each unit on each floor so more chances at a place. There's some on street parking for guests and the neighbourhood was quite nice. Lots of people walking places.

Next was lunch at the chip wagon (yum!) and hair cuts (nothing special) and then we walked to the building on the edge of downtown. They had a two bedroom to show us the fit & finish of the building and it is one of those 'architecturally interesting' places so lots of angles eating up useful space. Kitchen and bathrooms were great plus lots of storage but the master bedroom was only 12 x 14 and missing one corner of that. Same in the living room so the 2 bedroom is too small and there are only 6 of the 2 bedroom plus den places which would be large enough, plus they are on the top 3 floors, higher than I want to be. No units have balconies. No visitor parking, either. The building was wonderful, though. Modern, a button to press to call a cab, 24 hour door security, lovely lobby with coffee and newspapers.

After that, we drove over to the condo building we were interested and talked to the gatehouse man. There are some rentals by owners and he gave us a real-estate card to follow up on.

Finally we went to a building a couple of blocks from there. They had a rental office but only 4 of their units are luxury (all the top floor), the rest is normal. So no extra security. Lots of visitor parking. Quite nice staff and they gave us a floor plan. The place is HUGE so would be perfect but they don't come up very often. Location is sort-of ok but not close enough to groceries to walk (unlike the other places we looked at today.)

We were home just after 4. Ds came as we were watching our tv show with dinner and visited for 90 minutes. He and I went over the basement room a bit and he measured to see if his wardrobes could be stood up (they are too tall for the room but he'll put them on their side like he does at his current place.)

Now we are off to bed. I slept fitfully last night, constantly pushing up against dh so he had a very bad sleep. I just couldn't get my body up tight enough against him to satisfy me. Tonight I'll wear pjs and that should keep me warm enough that I'll stay on my side of the bed. Dh wryly noted that he now knows we can fit in a single bed if we have to!
