Good morning, LynLee (or is it good night)?

I've been "up" since about 5:15. We're meeting friends from up north for breakfast this morning -at 9. Makes a long time for me and I know I'll have to eat something soon, especially after taking my diabetic meds.

Should go over to dbil/dsil's afterwards to plan their anniversary get-together. Had planned to take them to dinner but she decided to have everyone there for a 'pot-luck' instead. Dinner would have been easier but this is okay as long as it doesn't get too big. Not sure I can take all that planning, etc right now.

I'm s2s but my hair and makeup aren't done, nor my meds and a pseudo breakfast. ;)

Have to start thinking about what to pack for dh for Jacksonville next week. He's going up Thursday morning. DD, Gd and I plan to go after dd gets through work on Friday. The following week dd and dh will be going to Orlando for the TSA (Technical Student Assoc) competition. DD is their teacher/director and dh will be attending as a judge. It was held in Jacksonville last year. It's statewide so Orlando is much more centrally located.

Safe days for all those in the snow zones.

LynLee - Good Evening, Sweet Dreams.

Dee - have fun at breakfast

I did it again this morning, I woke up before the alarm and then hit the snooze button, but this morning I didn't wait for it to go off again before I got up. Still need to get going though and get out of here.

Have a Wonderful Day Villagers!

Thank you for finding thoughtful quotes for us, Lynlee! I always enjoy reading and musing over them.

Enjoy bfast and time with dbil/dsil, Dee.

Have a good day at work, scattered!

Snow is supposed to arrive this afternoon, perhaps with sleet. B/c the temps are "warm"-ish (around freezing) today, the snow is expected to be wet and heavy, which means we may have power outages, esp. in our neighborhood which has lots and lots of mature trees. Fortunately, we have a generator. I hope the groc. store is not packed today b/c I need to go.

Today:
- a.m. routine
-groc. store
-Walgreens to pick up a script for dd17
-work on teaching
-gym
-dd14 to and from synchro, unless it is cancelled due to snow
-date night with dd14
-email my steering comm. re: next meeting

Exciting to see what will transpire today!

Quick look in from work. I think the tediousness is what gets me. Every long day seems just like the next and just like yesterday. I do too much online retail therapy just because I need things to look forward to. Some days, the only thing I can think of to make the day more interesting is buying a diet coke on the way to work. :?

I'm up.

Hair cuts today so the day is filling in quickly.

* Drive by some of the buildings we identified as potential next homes.
* Lunch at the chip wagon
* Hair cuts
* groceries on the way home.

Tomorrow is a big snow storm which will carry over into Thursday (not great for me since I need to be in the city for a seminar tied to my preaching license in the morning and will volunteer in the afternoon.)

Funny story from yesterday: We arrived at choir practice at our musician's house and there was a car we didn't know in the driveway. Turns out someone dropped in and asked to buy their extra vehicle (he'd seen it sitting there for months and guessed they might be interested in selling.) Paid them $500 in cash on the spot and was just leaving as we arrived.

We followed the musician's dh into the house and he showed the money to her and then said, "Should we just hand it over to KIC and dh now as a down payment on the house?!" I told him to keep it someplace safe and give me the whole amount at one time! I can't imagine how daunting it must be to know that much money is only 1/800th (or even less) of what they have to raise/borrow in the next 16 months.

Good morning, villagers ~

I'm continuing some bits of progress on clearing space in the office. We have an old extra recycle bin held together with duct tape in the garage, and I'm trying to fill that old bin as well as the newer one. We're only allowed to set out 1 each week, but this is my way of getting recyclables out of the house asap. Once they're sorted and identified, I don't want them hanging around the kitchen waiting an extra week for room in the bin.

Often I discover treasure when sorting through boxes. Over the weekend I opened a box and found 3 unopened reams of paper and a box of file folders. I had printer paper on my shopping list so I'm happy now that I don't have to make a special trip for that.

Recorded the Oscars Sunday night but have not watched the actual show yet. I'm mostly interested in the fashions anyway, so was more interested in watching the red carpet stuff. That's also easier to fast-forward through the blahblahtalk, pause to see a dress, and speed through. For the show itself, I find most of the introductions and speeches boring (especially since I didn't see any of the nominated movies) so I'll probably just watch some of the musical bits and delete the rest.

Good Morning!

Yesterday school bus ride was a complete success with LO. He was ready to go to school this morning. He happily skipped from the car to school building. Greeted the various teachers (older grades) as he went down the hallway to his classroom. LO excitedly greeted his teacher, chatted with his friends/classmates......then he fell apart and started crying when it was time for me to leave. Argh! We are going to try DH taking LO to school tomorrow and see if that will help.

THANK YOU for your suggestions and encouragement!

Lynlee - you had some great ideas and inspired me to document them to give to LO's counselor. THANK YOU!

LucyLee - I wasn't familiar with the term "school phobia" that you shared. I researched it and it lead me to several articles on anxiety that helped me. THANK YOU for sharing your experience. You turned out just fine so it gives me hope that LO will get through this a-okay too.

(((Twins))) - Hang in there, GF. You are a smart lady and will figure out what will be best for you. Keep talking it through. We have some strong shoulders for you to lean on while piecing the puzzle together.

[Okay] Try leaving a bit sooner as soon as Lo is greeting the teacher try sneaking out when he is greeting the other students so he does not notice you leaving with out formal good byes.

Hi everyone. I am still sick. I have done nothing today except read and eat a late breakfast / early lunch. I have postponed my appointment with the tax people until next week. I have even cancelled Girls' Night Out with DD11. XDH and I discussed having it on Thursday. This will work, but only if I am well. A cold usually takes me a week to get over. Maybe I can at least find some books to declutter. My goal for today is to do the usual cat care and do at least one item in the box work. Exciting day, right?
