Morning y'all...

Well I finally finished that mamouth closet clean out. All the things I kept telling myself...next time, I'll do it next time...well redoing my closet was on my "next" list after retiring and its DONE I had no idea I would be stuck in there for over 8 hours. Guess I sort of underestimated my time on that one.

After finishing the final touches with the closet this morning I took Willis for a long over due walk. Put in two miles and found two birds nest with mamas along the way. One looks to be a dove's nest, but the other is a hummingbird. I hope I'll be able to get picture of the nest because they are soooooo small. The mamas were sitting on both.

Now I am working in the office. Think it will take me all day to do the things I need to do. Guess you could say I'm having a spring cleaning marathon. I'm with you Nancy with being outside. I have several project I want to get to, but don't dare start till I get my inside ones done, otherwise I'd never come inside until the heat drives me in.

Back to work...this was my reward break. Hugs to y'all... BBL

Loved Harriet's fancy printing! I turned my little laptop over to see how it looked upside down!

Started my a.m. routine (breakfast--me & ddogs--, bedroom & bathroom), general pickup/put away, etc. Morning dishes done & sink/counters wiped. Cleared dining rm. table of yesterday's mail and started a lol. I visited with dh while watching news and weather for a little while.

So I got a cup of coffee and settled down to watch a sewing show while dh went outside to rake some pine needles under the tree by the one side of our house. I peeked out once in a while to see how he was doing. He took a cup of iced tea with him and a chair for a little break while working. When I heard him call me I looked out and saw him sitting on the ground!!! He had set the chair on a slight grade and it tipped over as he sat down. I ran to help him stand up -- he's ok, but get's so embarrassed when I have to help. It's all due to weak leg muscles from when he took Lipitor a few years ago. So, no crisis thank goodness.

Time to put sheets/towels in dryer then go to the other laptop to pay the last couple of bills for the month. I also should do some computer maintenance.

It's nice out today...just a few clouds and 77*, perfect spring weather. I thought of several families here who were probably experiencing the rough weather yesterday afternoon and evening.

I sanded the stairs and found more cracks in the paint and needed to sand and spackle some more.... It seems like it just keeps going (thinking God is helping me learn patience in jobs well done.)

I got in the missing parts from towel rack and found that the joint compound sunk in more and needed another amount... lol you just have to laugh when things don't work out.

time to exercise and then pick up dd younger from school, a driving lesson, then leave at 5:30 pm for French.

ddolder ordered her cap and gown today. yeah.

Ds came by for a few hours. I mentioned that I had found Platy (his stuffed toy platypus from childhood) and he immediately went downstairs to see him. It was cute how gentle he was with him and how he commented that Platy's still soft. Ds had started to worry when Platy hadn't turned up here in with the other stuffed animals or in the closet in his old room, and also hadn't turned up in all the bins at his apartment. Turns out Platy was in a random bin tossed in a non-toy area of the basement (along with some other much loved toys.)

Ds has two more dental appointments now and then will be done until the summer when the dentist will pull the temporary fillings on two iffy teeth because by then she'll be sure they won't need root canals. One of the two has just recently stopped hurting despite being filled almost 2 months ago so it looks like he'll be able to avoid root canals. He's getting about a 25% discount on all the work because he has no insurance but it will still be over $1.5K by the time he's done.

His job interview yesterday went well but he may not hear until the first week of April. They didn't ask if he's going away and he didn't volunteer the info. He discussed it with other people at the hospital and since he doesn't have a visa yet or a ticket or other firm plans, they decided it wasn't unethical for him to not mention it. After all, if he gets sick again or something else happens, he won't be going. He is super tired these days so is starting to worry about a relapse of the mono. It seems odd it would be so long after (almost 4 months.) I told him when I get a cold or something else, I get super over-tired so maybe it is just that he's coming down with something. He's going home to sleep now.

I should get my act together and get something done, either housework, paperwork or uncluttering. Ds took the two suitcases dfs is taking from us. And he has the missing backpack that belongs with another suitcase. So that mystery is solved.

Hello, everyone! It's a lovely day here. Our 5 inches of snow from yesterday is melting and the sun is out!

HELIA, I didn't want to leave the house yesterday, so I didn't. But today I have managed to drop off library book and goodwill donation, then get groceries. What a difference a day makes!

House is clean enough. Laundry and dishes caught up. Bed is made. Now I have mail to process...onward!

d helia... I have spoken to a few people today and they said exactly the same thing. The gentleman at the paint store said he couldn't focus and yesterday and today I am still in snail mode. it's the weather I am sure.

have a great day everyone. my day is getting cut up again but at least I got to walk.

Dh realized this a.m. that he has shingles again. He was diagnosed with them, last Feb. 28. I then called my dr. and they had me come in the next day for the shingles shot. He made an appt and went in this afternoon. Sure enough, shingles again. She told him that once he is over this round that he needs to get the shingles vaccination. You can get them more than once but since his are just a year apart, they need to reduce the chance of yet another reoccurance. They were calling in a prescription, so I will have to pick it up afterwhile.

It is in the high 50's today but very windy, so it just feels cold.

Was working on the house and writing today. Took a 1/2-hour nap in the recliner. Later, the upper back hurt, so I took off clothes, grabbed a t-shirt, so DH could use Icy Hot Roll-On, on my upper back. The t-shirt keeps the odor off the clothes put on over it. I had my long-sleeved nightgown inside a long-sleeved Sherpa lounger, climbed into them at the same time, and walked into the great room, where DH was sitting.

He asked, "What's the blue tail you have hanging down in back of your lounge dress?"

I missed climbing into the nightgown sleeves so the nightgown was hanging loose, from the neck to the hem of my lounger, and was sagging down like a tail! It was an easy fix. Never a dull moment at our house.

Once, I was chatting at the barber shop, while DH and I were there. I was getting my hair trimmed and was just gabbing away. People were laughing, then my female barber said, "Boy! Sounds like a LOT of "drama" at YOUR house!" Funny, but true. We need to laugh at ourselves once in awhile or life is just too serious.
