I seem to have lost a couple of days.
Autumn started here at the beginning of the month. Because where I live is subtropical we don't get fall as such, or the changing leaf colour of the southern temperate areas. Some trees do a Leaf drop more immediately before spring, thru to towards its end just prior to putting on fancy dress of blossom to make it look more splendid.
I know its autumn because the sun stays long enough on my concrete northern veranda to burn my feet if I linger there with bare feet.
I missed the window of sunshine on the weekend to wash and dry laundry. Another cyclone is doing its thing off the coast.
Certainly Kathryn - be glad you missed this year off our east coast.
I've kept making headway with the (Sphagneticola trilobata) ( commonly known as the Singapore Daisy, Creeping-oxeye, Trailing Daisy, and Wedelia according to wikipedia)I'm going well on the in lawn component. Another week of that and then hope I will get started on the drifts and banks, and fence smothering portion.
The old tv is in the car. Seat belted into the back seat. Tomorrow is the last day of a free dump arrangement. I didn't take the wheeled base off. Hope that doesn't cause a stir.

- groc. list and menu plan
- groc. store
- gym
- laundry: towels
- dd14 to oboe lesson 4:45 - 5:45 - and then straight to the school
- go to dd14's concert 7 - ?
I've already" said good bye to the girls, s2slippers, taken care of some emails, had my bfast.
Next: make another cup of tea and finish my a.m. routine.
Dh took gd to school today -yay 1 day without that early morning run. He had to take our car for an oil change at 8:45 so did the run for me as well. Now he's gone to dd's school to do a small project for her.
Small glitch in gd's process to the youth ranch. Final interview was to be tomorrow morning -here. Guy can't make it so things may get moved ahead a few days. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this (along with everyone else here).
I at least got the kitchen cleaned this morning. Have several things I need to accomplish in this week left before dh heads north. Some must be done TODAY!! But I only slept about 4 hours last night and now I'm quite sleepy. So maybe I'll put my 'hurting' knees up for a little and then get on with computer things.
Had a big problem with my computer yesterday afternoon. When I picked dd up from school she and I went 'looking' a little bit (I hate spending the $$ on a new one, but am sufficiently scared now of losing things). Ended up ordering one online last night -same as we'd looked at but for nearly $100 cheaper. DH will love the larger screen (as will I). I've had a netbook for about 4 years or so and am ready for a larger one. Should be here within the week.

dd came home yesterday almost in tears - d seniors in her music ministry continue to stare at her even in lunch and then whisper and laugh. She says she doesn't know why these girls hate her to the core and she is tempted to ask but at least they are graduating soon and won't be there next year.
women, young and old can be judgmental. I wonder what is behind the one girls anger (the other is a follower)
all we can do is support our children in these hard times and give them a safe place to land and to hope these type of things help them learn to be kind to others and not do the same.
dd has tae kwon do today and I have french. dh is driving his d mom and will take dd.
As the seasons change I find myself out side a lot more with the milder temps and flowers it seems to be calling me! So it's even more important that I do the a.m. stuff before it warms up as I do not get back to it if I do not!
Another sunny day here. Supposed to rain sometime later in the week, that will be fine as we need it.
DH and sons have gone off on a long distance service call. About 80 miles away so they'll be gone for a while.
I feel achey today, back and legs for some reason so moving slow and steady. Going to get the kitchen cleaned today.
Have been rewarding myself with episodes of "The West Wing" on Netflix.
Am feeling some grief over Daunt, read her obituary online from the local paper out there. Nothing seems so final as seeing it in print. There is a hole left inside of me and I do miss chatting with her. But that is the way it is, people passing in and out of your life. She didn't want a funeral, just a grave side service, which they'll do once the weather warms a bit.
Need to finish up taxes too, looks like we owe on state and get a little refund on federal.

Lynlee, I really enjoyed Geoff Leslie's whole piece, "Australian Autumn", in its explanation of the differences in our two ideas of the season. You have so many more flowers/shrubs blooming all autumn long. And only the imported trees, he says, would give the displays of color changing that I would recognize. Actually, I realize your native leaves fall at various times, not just right now. Farmers there are more likely than here to be waiting for a break in the hot weather to get some crops in. So interesting that you'd already be saying "autumn" or "fall" because you go by the calendar for that.
We will be grateful that the chill is taken off the house over the next few weeks. We'll be able to stop running the humidifier when the indoor heat's dry air is lessened. Thinking ahead to spring allergens, though, is not so much fun. I've done some online browsing of the newer tomato varieties.
blessed, I am dismayed at what on earth is going on with those senior girls. This is a music ministry? Something to do with church? Do they need a sermon, I wonder. I hope dear dd has friends to bolster her up. Yes, I would be tempted to ask... ... but don't know whether I would ask them or someone else at their grade, or with a link to them. I hope those poor senior girls do not go through their entire final year ignorant of the vital lessons in humility which will serve lifelong. I can think of such simple object lessons that would help them to that end, if the angels saw fit to set a few in their paths. Bless their hearts.
