Good afternoon! I especially like quote #2 from LYNLEE today!

I have made a turn around since yesterday. DW is going and lol is ready for the dryer. Have trimmed my hair which always gives me a lift. I look like myself again! Daily readings are done.

DM just called. She has been sick. She seemed to remember that she is my mother, too. Usually, with her, everything is about my brother. I will take whatever mothering I can get, even at my age!

Now to get back to work...

Good morning! I got most of the stuff on last night's list done - grocery, pay bills, filing, update Quicken, balance checkbook, run dishwasher and clothes washer.

The stuff on the list that still needs to be done - order part, glue 'pearls' onto tiara, post doll dress in The Creative Home > Arts Crafts Needlework.

Some additional stuff to do today - find church Holy Week schedule and get info on the Run for the Zoo. (I am taking DD11 and her twin friends to the run, that will be interesting).

Tonight is Girls' Night Out with DD and I have no idea what she will want to do (other than the ever popular Chinese food). Last Tuesday she had testing at school and just wanted to go to my house and relax. Chuck E Cheese is out of favor, which is unfortunate, because I have LOTS of tokens left. We could go to Build A Bear, she has earned a $5 off coupon and there are small animals there that cost exactly that.

mamapiano: I am registered on Ravelry. My name there is TheOtherElizabeth. The problem was that other people who are not members cannot see what is there. However, I now know where to put it on this board. I tried to last night, but sometimes I have problems posting from home. For some reason, this board occasionally thinks I am posting from a forbidden IP address! I will eventually get it there.

Update! I have finished a document modification at payroll and turned it in. I have obtained the Holy Week schedule AND the Vacation Bible School schedule and added them to my DayRunner. I am not sure if DD11 will be in town for VBS. I am not sure what her summer schedule is; XDH is taking her to Alabama and Alaska. I have also emailed XDH for her summer schedule and for stock basis information.

I forgot to note a yesterday TADA: I found and eliminated the source of the smell in the freezer. The source was actually in the refrigerator, making it hard to find.

TaDas!
x 10 a.m. haircut
x bank; that check I mentioned earlier is void after 90 days - it says so right on the front. Dh will have to call and get that straightened out.
x 12 pm - lunch w/ dfriend
x 1:20 - pick up dd17 from school for. . .
x 1:45 Dr. appt.
x take dd17 back to school (hopefully, the appt. won't take too long)
x groc. store

ToDo:
- unload and put away tons of groceries; I went ahead and bought a small boneless leg of lamb. I had forgotten how expensive lamb is. I'm SO glad dfriend is bringing a ham too.
- check on hens
- maybe finish a.m. routine before heading out the door again?
- 4:45 dd14 oboe lesson
- dinner date night: w/ dd14
- pick up dd14's new lenses for her glasses

I now have some emails to deal with, mostly moms group emails. The Chinese med student got back to me. The physics prof. and her dh (also a physics prof. - but at UC Berkeley. Yes, that is a problem they're currently working on. . . . ) will not be coming for Easter dinner after all, so now, we're just a party of 12. I may invite the Chinese med student, but I need to check with others first. . . . I'll do emails later. Maybe I'll bring my computer and work on them in the coffee shop during dd14's lesson.

I'm off to unload groceries

Hello everybody!

Things are going along here as usual. This morning early I went to church to help with a mailing. That is always pleasant. One of the retired ladies always pidgeon-holes me after we're done and talks and talks...and I suppose she is lonely being all by herself, so I give her as much time as i can. Someday the shoe may be on the other foot...

A lot of important computer stuff done just now...I realized how stressed it made me when I immediately went to the kitchen in search of goodies.

Haven't been sleeping all that well. I have a lot on my mind recently, and my dreams have been about other things but very vivid and I remember them upon awakening. Plus I'm still coughing a bit at night and that wakes me up.

DH did some odd jobs for a church friend and she just called, her neighbor has a few things...we should give her a finder's fee!

Congratulations on the new phone, Lucylee!

DD2 informs me DGS has a broken bone in the top of his foot. Orthopedic dr. says it is healing alright (he broke it jumping around, landing wrong 3 weeks ago) and today gave him some sort of stiff shoe to wear. At least he's not in a cast.

Dee, you are right, it's not beach weather. I don't know what's up this year. It was 53 when I went out this morning. That's frigid for us, especially this time of year. And sorta windy too. Well at least it's not snow!

Hey, ya'll.

Weather chat - On a nutrition site, I read a post by a lady in New Jersey saying she keeps a record of the date she is able to take the winter's plastic weather film off her windows every year and briefly let the house air out. It's always a March date; last year March 12. She says this year she won't dare have a "March opening", and is disappointed to read their very different weather forecast.

LOL, ellyphant. Usually about your brother but she seems to remember you're her daughter, lol. Hope she feels better.

Nancy, so sorry you had a tougher night.

Elizabeth, we'll look forward to a photo sometime.

Harmony, I hope dgs's foot heals quickly. Ouch, ouch. Yes, give that lady a finder's fee, lol. So nice she recommends.

itneverends, I hope your shoulder heals quickly, too. Congratulations on your dd's engagement.

Quotes - although I like them all, I must admit that the name that makes me stop and pay attention is Nimoy's.

Trying to fix a supper tonight to include a friend of HRH's who wants to adhere to a classic diabetic diet and counts on meats as entrees. (Ya'll may remember that HRH is trying to eat vegetarian right now.) Both, of course, don't want to include unnecessary sugars, they are just going at their meals in opposite ways. Think I've got it figured out. Everyone will just have to be thoughtful at the table!

Hi! I found out today how 1 of my short stories for a "Bad Boyfriend" contest was accepted in the tip 10 on-line at a website. People are supposed to read the stories listed and then vote for their favorites.
I'm down to 2% - 4% back and forth, so I was going to write the link here, ask for votes, and my story is #4. There is a typo on the DH used at the end. They listed two different names, which made DH say, "That doesn't make sense at the end." Which is true, but it's a cute story until you get to the typo on the DH's name at the end!

Here's the link:

http://trulovestories.com/news/vote-for ... ind-story/

I'm editing AGAIN: I forgot to let you know the title of the story! It is "Infatuation with a Total Jerk", and it is a high school romance story until the end when I marry DH. ♥ The link wasn't right! Made the correction! Thanks.

I hope it's okay to post something fun like this here. If it's not okay at all, the administrators can delete it off PWYC. I don't want to do something frowned upon, by advertising myself and my contest I'm in.

Thanks a LOT! I'm sort of having a "goofy" day today, too! But it's much better than yesterday! Oh! I need to scoot and help DH load the DW so we'll have more clean dishes. :D

I'm doing better now, one of the side effects of high bs is sleepiness so I slept well. Trying to keep better #'s today so was a bit more active this morning did the yd. work then before getting dgd.

I have let the chicks out and had to bring their water and feeder out to the run to get them out of the coop today. It's 54* so plenty warm enough for them. H. said to keep the light on them for another week.

I did not get the contractor's fencing fabric for keeping the hens off the new grass; where I was going to go was out until the beginning of the month. Got dgd from pre school and we've had lunch.

Nancy, My DH has diabetes, but I never knew high bs could cause sleepiness. His is under control, but still, it's good information to know and I thank you for sharing it, too.
