Lynlee, I think it's fine when Rants get posted. Rants are part of our days! You don't need to spare us, since we are probably all hoping we can tell our own! I had a l-o-o-o-ng rant the other day and saved it in an email to myself, telling folks here I might post it later. You might remember that by the next day I still posted it (but it was shorter) saying things had smoothed out.
OKay, I am so glad you had a cozy, safe space to wait for a while. None of this whizzing off to munchkinland.

I made a 5x5 of household oddities today and all are DONE (checkmark)
1 refrigerator spill cleanup
2 roll couch with lint roller
3 vacuum-crevice-tool for odd spots
4 Lysol wipe behind ddad's toilet
5 discard leftovers in fridge before they spawn
When dd gets out of school I will take her "home" to my parents' house and we will clean there.
I am filled with optimism after yesterdays rain. The excess moisture came with some challenges, but I haven't heard a single person complain about it. LO's field trip for today has been cancelled because too wet. There is no problem with the noisy little ones staying inside the school building today because the school state testing has been cancelled (for today). Some of the classrooms have water in them (roof drains couldn't handle the downpour and/or water came inside the building at foundation level/doors) .
We had five new neighbors in our home last night. It wasn't the ideal time to make new friends, but whatever works.

This is some crazy weather.
You said it, Sister! We are supposed to get snow tonight and tomorrow. It's not at all unusual for us to still be getting snow in early April, but I don't remember it ever coming this late in the month.
Today's goal is just to get caught up on all the things I couldn't do yesterday, plus a couple of errands.
Dgs19 was born on March 31. The day they brought him home from the hospital, they had to run the a/c in the car and at home. That April we then had 3 snows. 2 were heavy, wet snows and the other was like huge cotton balls that floated. The 3 times it snowed didn't come close to being as cold as our April snows have been this year. Also those snows melted very quickly.
The sun came out and melted our snow since it was just a thin covering. We are to have record lows tomorrow morning and then the high is suppose to be 60.
Dgd turns 2 today. It does not seem possible. Dd2 is taking cupcakes to daycare and then will have cupcakes at home tonight. She is having the party Saturday night, because the boys will be home. Dd1 will be out of town tomorrow so that is why she is waiting an extra day. At 2 you can get by with a delayed party.
Bookie...the weather is even strange in my neck of the village. Highs have only reached 74* here with lots of wind to go around. I'm not complaining, cause around here I'll take any cold weather when I can...but late yesterday afternoon I had to take a shower because I was cold.
Just got back from the gym...did my walking plus an exercise class. I love the guy who teachs it. I've been taking classes from him for the past 8 years...He's big, and funny and makes us laugh while inflicting pain. He's probably 6'2", weights 220 lbs and is very muscular. One of the many things I love about him is he teaches a class called Body Flow...Its a combination of yaga and stretching. Its amazing tosee how flexable this big strong man is and to watch him as he teaches us. You would never believe a big well developed body like his could be move like that.
I have errands to run and a home owners meeting to attend early on this evening. I'm going to quickly wash off and take a full shower later. Got to get my act together and find my list. Sweetie just came home and I can hear Sadie talking to him...gotta run cy'all later...

Ya know Lilac, after reading your post I just remember a time when I was driving from Nashville to Knoxvillein late spring. It was right around my son's and my birthday which is at the end of this month. I was driving through Crossville over the Tn Platue and hit a blizzard. I remember thinking how bizzare that was. i was driving I-40 headed east, and I could hardly see out my windshield. Took me 5 hours to drive my usual 2 hour trip. Fact is always stranger than fiction.......

I'm going nuts trying to set up the first two National church survey interviews. For our first interview, I must be there, plus my training partner, plus the team leader, plus the church being interviewed. Since this is done over the internet, we also have to have the access to the meeting software (there are only 15 accounts.) Add in that my partner is away April 27 to May 15 and me from May 5 to May 20. Turns out our team leader is away April 25 - 29 so we can't do one on April 26. That makes the next available date May 21, three weeks into the 8 week survey.
I've sent an email saying that instead of making us propose dates, only to have them shot down, we need to have the team leaders in possession of all info and ask the churches to come to the team leader with a firm date. The team leader will know if he can do it, and know the availability of the facilitators, and then assign two people at random to the a church and just get the interview over with.
I'm suppose to call two churches to set up something but having just found out that the team leader isn't around means I'm not sure if I should bother to call.
Sigh.... with all the carp in my life right now, I don't need this disorganization too.
Responded to an email from the minister. She'll take another week of sick leave (she still is dizzy and can't drive) and add the vacation time she's missing onto the end of her time with us. She'll still end work the same day she planned but this way the pension and benefits continue for her without interruption. We still owe her one week vacation pay so this doesn't cost us anything and makes everyone's life easier. Of course, that's assuming the medicine starts to work better and the dizziness stops in the next 12 days.
The weather went from 58 to almost 70 in just over an hour and so dh and I went for a walk after dinner. The wind had funny gusts from time to time but it was lovely and warm.
