(((Lilac)))) I guess your DH is seeking a travel challenge? OKC is definitely that in its current condition. Former coworker who makes the daily 160 mile commute from OKC had to turn around and go back home this morning. He drives in OKC every single day but the hail was so severe and road are flooded is making travel impossible today......on top of the tornado damage. Family members told us yesterday about taking 1.5 hours to travel roads that normal take 15 minutes because of the horrific tornado damage and people flooding the area to gawk.
Two hours past our normal time.......I'm going to make some smoothies for breakfast.

We are finally in AZ!!!!
Yesterday started at 5:30 with getting up and on the road to the airport. Didn't get on 2 planes (they filled up) so back to DS's to try again tomorrow (today). HOWEVER, about 6 in the evening he saw that the 9 pm flight was opening up. So we jumped back in the car for another trip to O'Hare.
The 9 pm flight was delayed and delayed and delayed and we finally took off at midnight, getting into Phoenix at 3 am Chicago time and 1 am Phoenix time.
We decided to stay at the motel and get a ride home today with our friend. We had a bunch of people partying on one side and a yappy dog on the other.
I turned the AC on high fan and we finally got some sleep.
I'll give friend a call in a bit and check on what time she will pick us up. She has another person to take to the airport at 9 so I'm going to assume around then.
Right now I'm going back to bed after I call. It is now 7 am AZ time and the stupid dog has started barking again as the motel maids are outside.

((The Emptynesters)) Wow. You might have done as well napping in the airport, although I guess you did get to lie down in privacy.
Oh no, OKay, not hail this morning as well?
Lilac, what an... ... adventure ... your dh may be heading into.
Dee, thank goodness you could get the automobile situation taken care of in advance of the 30th and now Mr. DeeClutter has that off his mind.
Feeling gratitude this a.m. for our ordinary rain. Sadie's son certainly has needed the umbrella.
Lynlee, thinking of you as weather makes such a headline-appearance here. Are your flooding situations over without too many residual problems?
We still have quite a bit of school left here, so it's interesting to me LO is already finished. Wonder how long lucylee has?

(((MT))) Has to feel different only being north the time you have been. Do you have plans to go back this summer/fall?
DH is out mowing & getting soaked, I'm sure. Didn't think it was going to rain again today. Just don't want him catching a cold at this point. Pouring now!
Think I will focus on cleaning our living room today. At least things are now somewhat manageable.
Just called back the place for our car rental. They had set the rental for 1 week so the total ended up being about $200 less than they first had billed us. Since it cost nearly $1,000 to get our car fixed, I'm thankful for any place the bills were lowered. Figure it cost us about an extra $1,400 or so by the time we added the extra fuel for that car and a motel. Ouch! Could have been much worse though and I'm thankful for that. Could have lost everything if it had caught fire -which was only minimally on the horizon. And perhaps our lives as well and after seeing all that so many are going through right now -I'm content.
Saw dh go by a few minutes ago -racing back to the barn. Hope he comes in and changes.
Ellyphant, thought about you every time I went by the area where I think you are. Did you 'feel' me waving?

Dee: the whole reason for this trip is because we are not going east this summer/fall. We will head for WY & SD in a week or two (when the Drs. turn us loose) and then to WA/OR.
We might make another flying trip back in Aug. - at least our son wants us to. Maybe after the trauma of yesterday recedes. It really wasn't THAT bad - just a very long day when I didn't know what was happening. That is not good for control freaks like me.
We are packed and ready to head out when our ride gets here. In the meantime, I'm going to hit my K indle.

I paid all the snail mail bills I could find. There were a lot of odds and ends, like renewing my drivers license, car registration, a parking ticket that dh got
etc. I'm just back from the post it place, so dd14's camp paperwork is in the mail. I filled out and sent in band camp paperwork earlier this week. I think that's it for her in terms of summer activities and paperwork. .. church youth group trips have also been taken care of. And we're doing drivers ed now.
((Dee)) My van needs some repairs, as does dh's car. We just need to figure out a good time (or rather 2 separate good times) to take 1 car out of circulation in our family.
Hoping you can get a nap and a good night's sleep tonight, MT. WY and SD sound beautiful.
The evening of music sounds wonderful, Harriet. When are schools out where you are? We have 2 more weeks after this week and then a week of finals. Last day is June 14, i believe.
((Lilac))
Yay for summer vacation for LO and OK!! Those burpees look hard! I don't think I could do a single one.
Your ds must be in great shape.
Exercise and travel: Dh has told me that an advantage of running for exercise is that it can be done wherever one must travel. That would be true for walking and burpees too. (That word feels odd to type, I must say. .. .) Dh brings his running gear with him when he travels; some places are more conducive to it than others, but he does his best. I think when he ran in LA, that was not the greatest with the big city traffic and congestion. When he last ran in Japan, that was rather interesting. Travel is not as essential an element to dh's job as it is to some jobs, though. It sounds like OK's ds travels a lot more -- and Ken does too. Travel is sort of a necessary accessory to dh's job. The main work, and the work his is most excited about, takes place right here in town.
Alright, I must finish the a.m. routine and have some lunch. I need to leave in 1:45 to pick up the girls for the dentist. Ds will drive himself from work and meet us there. This is a pediatric dentist; I think he'll see ds until he is 21. I wonder when ds will want to go to an adult dentist. . . .

There! I focused and FINISHED the living room. Now to focus on the counter toward the living area. Dh has gotten pretty used to just piling all his 'stuff' there. Can't happen on my watch! I pretty well cleaned it earlier this week, but I need to place a few more things so it looks better to (my) eye.
I will have to go through and clean out all our cabinets and drawers as the summer goes on, but for right now -out of sight is good. Main thing up will be to get our clothes in better order. Ended up just piling a lot in my closet and drawers last night. Finding myself still pretty tired out. I simply don't know how dh keeps on going. When I'm done, I'M DONE! When he's done -well he just keeps on doing.
No doubt there were guys who could have fixed our van for a lot less money. However, the stress of and cost of getting someone to go all the way to MD, pick up the van, trailer it home and fix it here probably wouldn't have saved us all that much. Certainly had no choice of the if/when -had to be done in order to drive it. Hopefully dh's 'loaner' won't give him much trouble. DS-A did tell me last night that they want to 'cruise' once in a while in it!

I'm sure he could get a lot of $$ for it. DBIL was always getting offers. And the car dealership in FL offered dmil a brand new car if she would give them back this one. It's in excellent shape really.
Going to rest a few then focus in on that counter.

Morning y'all....
I'm still watching the news and drinking my coffee. I have a few things to do around the house today. I don't do my stuff at any particular time, but I do have a working order. I get up, feed puppies, and eat. Then I head back to my bedroom, make my bed and then check for laundry. I don't shower every day because my skin is too dry, but I do wash off, slather on lotion, and then head for the kitchen.
Using what I learned w P&P I work left to right in a room and STAY in each room till I'm finished. When I do a full house cleaning I start in the left side of the house. When I had a two story I worked bottom left and. Then top left. My routines are all but memorized now. And now that I am retired my weekly schedule is more relaxed cause it can be.
Picking up footprints is daily and never without a basket so I stay on task and done get sidetracked. When I worked I did this at night before I went to bed.
Question: where do you fold laundry? I've always done that on my couch in my living area cause it was closest to the laundry room. Now I do it on my bed because that is the closest. Sure makes putting the laundry away a snap for me.
Think today may be lucylee's last day w her kids.....it was a bittersweet day for me.
Off to start my chores see y'all later...... Enjoy your day and make time for some fun

Good afternoon! It's a rainy one here.
DEE, yes, I certainly thought about you possibly passing close by here! It's a good 2 and a half hours to Hagerstown for us.
COWINKIE, I fold clothes on the guestroom bed. That is the closest big, flat surface to laundry area.
Have folded clothes and changed bedsheets. Have a list of 6 errands to run. None of it is critical, so I may just clean toilets and then settle in with my library book for a while. That sounds good for a rainy day. Will keep you posted!
Today feels like a Friday to me for some reason. Maybe I'm done for the week.

I've been out of sorts the past couple of days. Dgd is here today as I did not offer to take / pick her up from the preschool end of yr. party in the park it's cold out side here! With the baby that never has enough warm clothes or shoes on not a good idea. And the car is needing to get in the shop. Nap time and the baby is fussy. Dgd is grounded from my chair rocker unless I'm holding her she ripped a pocket off it I had to fix the other day. She tries to lay down in it and it's not that size of a chair. Sigh
Lilac I can't believe they did not cancel that rally. It's cold here too.
At the church they need some one to run the over head for songs & more I'm sure they would not like the way I'd do it I do not like to sing the same chorus over and over and over on and on and on an on... after we're done with a song; I just think it drags the service on too long. It's a protestant thing I think.
The use macs and I have no clue about them and don't really want to learn. I'd rather sit w/ h. during the service anyway so they will need to get some one else.
