re: giving cats meds. I remember one time we had a cat that needed some meds. the vet tech. gal said to wrap the cat in a towel so we would not get scratched when giving her the meds. it seemed to work pretty well.
Today I'm fighting a bit of a cold feeling less achey but have less energy today. I have accomplished a few things.
feed chickens
boil & peel eggs
breakfast
make bed h. did that
journal & qt
load dishes in dishwasher
fold laundry
trash is at the curb h. did that too
clean sink
Done to here .
Next up I need to vacuum the office creativity room and then tackle the m. bedroom it need more attn. I think it's my focus room this week. Keep moving is my motto.
Granny duty begins in a while dgd will be here then dgson after school the baby will not be here until tomorrow.
I see that there is a Tornado warning over the N.E. corner of Ark. today where mom & family live.
I need a plan for dinner ok chili it is! sausage meat balls were a hit as H. put his on a bun with some grated cheese and a nice change!

I finished that round - found Fitbit in the house (must have dropped off before the walk) and found insurance check...

That is very interesting to read others' reactions to giving cats meds. Lily is the first cat I've ever owned (I'm actually not a huge cat person) and I had no idea the reputation cats had. Contrary to stereotypes, she is exceedingly easy to give meds to!! So, she fidgeted a bit and turned her head this morning. That was the extent of the resistance. So far, she has been much easier to give meds to than our dogs have been. Again, she is a Ragdoll, a breed known for being extremely docile and mellow. They're also known for being fairly non-athletic compared to other breeds of cats. That was always a question in my mind when we let her outside.
Thank you Lilac. Yes, that is our plan. It is nice that S and R live so close by!! They are generally well-grounded responsible kids. Like all kids, they have their moments, however. We'll see how this goes. Not only will they be responsible for medicating the cat, but they are each taking a turn to come home during lunch to feed and play with Maia. We're letting the girls each skip one class (on one day) of school to do this. Leaving them in charge of the meds makes me a little nervous, to be honest, but Dh and I have talked about how we will try this and see this as a learning experience for them. They know what is at stake. Lily is mainly dd17's cat, so she will be motivated.
Dee and dh continue to be in my thoughts and prayers today.
Oops. Just looked at the time. I need to fold a last lol and finish packing!!

I've vacuumed the rest of the upstairs in the bedrooms yea for progress. Dishes are loaded and I've had my lunch also.
Dgd is happy as a clam today watching her shows after she fed the chickens.
Dgson is trying to milk sympathy from his mom about some thing that happened while she was gone deflecting attn. off him after getting in trouble for some thing stupid he did with his sisters toy. Dd was upset when she dropped dgd off today after that morning. Dgson is being tardy b/c she's having him walk. [Last week when he was here we had crappy weather and I just had him ride the bus from our house and he did fine.] Me rolling my eyes kids ~sigh~ some times
they can be pills but we love them.
Dgson is going to his dad's job site after school today it's on the way home & he's not coming here. I think dgd is enjoying the one on one time she is getting today.
I need to get on the exercise bike for today's exercise. I'm going to try to read some today also.
I told h. he does not need to take time away from the job just to let me know he's going to be late I can figure it out if he's not here at the reg. time he's home by it's another working late day with as busy as they have been he's only off on the reg. time on the rainy days any way.

Our outing today was very efficient. Before getting off I got the accounting detail cleared up, emailed my sister and set a time to see my friend tomorrow. Then it was off for eyebrow shaping, my first ever and yes, it does hurt. They lie to you! But the eyebrows (and eyes for that matter) look better now. They still feel a little funny, though (like the skin is stretched tight.)
After that was lunch, banking, bulk food shopping with coupon, return and rebuy clothes to activate a $10 coupon, Cos tco, more banking, Chinese grocery, general store to drop off Curly Whirly chocolate bars for the post mistress (these are imported, bought with the coupon savings from the bulk food store) and picked up the mail.
Now we are home and dh helped put the groceries away. I think he's having leftover pork ribs tonight and I'll have a frozen dinner. Ds isn't here so that means he had his second short shift turn around in a few days (works 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and then 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.) He might also have to work 11 - 7 a.m. as well but since he didn't know about the shift yesterday until lunch hour, he didn't have enough sleep for it. So he's not really ready to do 16 hours in a row (plus he's already up to 10 shifts for the pay period so they'd have to pay overtime.) It is good he's getting all this work, though.
