Helia - How is DLily doing this morning? I'm sorry she is suffering.

I woke up this morning to the sound of thunder. Started to turn over and go back to sleep, but my eyes popped open when I remember I forgot to shut the cellar door!! I pulled my boots on, grabbed a coat with a hood and dashed out into the storm to shut the door. Sheeeze! Yesterday I had the door open to help in drying it out. Well, obviously that plan didn't work well.

We have had two strong storms come through in the last hour. The weatherman keeps repeating "There is NO tornado". I guess a few people are a tad bit anxious and expecting tornadoes out of every storm.

Today I have appt with dentist to get a cavity filled. Hopefully it will be quick and relative painless. While I'm in town, I'll stop by attorney office and pick up some paperwork. Hum.....it would also be a good time to shop for groceries for Friday night gathering. I need to call ahead and ask for 10 lbs of chili meat. It takes them a little bit to set up for grinding it.

Good morning, villagers ~

Yesterday was a busy day with chores, follow-up to Saturday's book sale, planning for the rest of the week, lots of Email, month-end financial reports for the library and sewing groups, and starting to prepare for tonight's sewing group meeting.

Today I have to run several errands, but mostly I will be getting ready for tonight's meeting.

I'm looking forward to the program. We have someone who will give tips on how to make a blouse pattern fit better. I'm also trying to schedule a little mini-party after the meeting so I can relax and chat with a few friends after I'm off duty.

I have leftovers for both lunch and supper, so those will be easy. DH is used to my meeting nights by now, he said he would stop after work for a sandwich.

-help get dd ready for camp
-dd's room - I am determined she should not leave it a mess!
-decide whether to go on to ATL tomorrow after taking dd to camp

-change clothes and walk ddogs

-meds for me and ddogs
-clear/wipe down kitchen counters

Thank you for thoughts and prayers for Lily. I can't tell if she is doing better or not. The kids and I got all her meds in her this morning. She struggled a little bit - maybe that is a good sign. She spent the night on dd15's bed, as she used to do. She ate almost a full can of cat food (3 oz.) this morning, so that is also good. She doesn't seem to want to drink?? She is going in the kitty litter some. Dh is going to ask dfriend R to come over every evening we're away to check on the left eye (the good one). That makes me feel better. He has medical knowledge, if not animal medical knowledge, and should be able to notice changes, which is what we want to be monitoring.

So far this morning:
x reviewed Lily's meds chart with the kids
x did Lily's morning meds
x bfast
x puppy duty
x folded 2 lol; have 3rd load in dryer
x held bowl of food so Lily could eat more easily w/ her cone (we can also take it off her for short periods of time)
x dealt with a couple organizational type emails
x called Walgreens to renew dd17's script. I'll walk over and pick that up in a bit

I don't have a car this morning! Oops. That is not intentional but is OK; the only errand for which I'd need a car is a trip to the bank for a cashier's check to send in with my teaching certificate renewal. That will just have to wait until next week.

Dh will be home around noon and then we'll finalize packing

Helia, I've meant to say that giving meds to a cat is the pits! Over all the years we had cats, I could usually do it but it was never easy...maybe Lilly is more compliant. I'm glad someone can monitor her while you're away.

I'm dozing in the virtual waiting room. Didn't get enough sleep last night, so I'm just shutting my eyes and listening to the rest of you chat amongst yourselves while we wait for news.

Not being able to be creative with words until very late at night is an issue. I wish I could resolve it, but no matter of pulling will get the words to flow until I'm exhausted. My guess is my conscious mind is fighting with the Spirit and once I get too tired, the Spirit can flow unimpeded by my own will.

I finally left it with just the blessing to write and that flew out of me this morning (I'm assuming since still exhausted.) The first draft of the service is done. I still need to write the incidental words (intros, mini prayers), the children's story and the prayers of the people, but all else is done since I'm not preaching. I've sent a copy off to the visiting minister. As I said to dh, it was much harder to write the prayers this time since I feel like this is a final exam for me. She is wonderful and I like her, but this is the first time she's seen what I can do and will see me in action. Since she is responsible, ultimately, for seeing that pulpits are filled, her approval of my work on Sunday may lead to me be recommended by her when another church is stuck without a minister.

I've also sent off an email to all our church members and adherents. I still have to send one to the accountant (just to completely shift gears) but I'm going to get dressed first. I have an hour until we have to leave for our day out. (Hair, lunch, lots and lots of errands.)

Dee, I loved your positive opening today. I am trying not to pace while sitting in the waiting room with the others.

helia, I am so glad that you are able to make this trip to Texas with your dh, as planned. You haven't mentioned it, but are the kids staying home? I realize they aren't going. With your ds in college and as responsible and mature as your 3 children are, I wouldn't hesitate to leave them at home. Since you have such a great support system in friends R and S, you can leave knowing they are there if needed.

My mind has went blank, so guess I will get off of here and get my hair colored.

Back from walking ddogs...and I can't find Fitbit. I don't know whether it's here in the house and I didn't put it on before walking (although I had it when I was changing clothes) or whether it dropped off somewhere during the walk.

So.....

-s2s once I cool down a bit
-reboot laundry for dd, who is still asleep, and start a load of our laundry
-find the insurance check
-make the bed, straighten MBR
