Today's the day they come pump out our 3 septic tanks! I "hope" this is the end to our bad luck! It started out with low/no water pressure, so we got a new pump-water-holding tank capacitor, they put new copper wire in, too, new box, etc.. yadda-yadda. Then, DH was trying to "fix" the shower door, so it would close, then it shattered into a gazillion pieces! We got that replaced, but it's a beautiful door, DH got new anti-slip pad and flowers for the shower, it's clean, looks new! Then, DH's truck went on the fritz! Totally unexpected bill of $398! But now the truck's as good as new! :D Then, today it's the septic tanks pumping. DH said to wait until the tanks are pumped before I do laundry today, too.

DH is very optimistic that our bad luck is over and good luck is here to stay. :?: I feel sorta like "gun shy" and like I'm afraid to walk out the door to go on a walk now, for the fear of something falling from the skies onto my head from an airline plane flying overhead! Just "kidding". Anyway, it'll be good to be pumped out and the 2 grandsons (13 and 14 3/4) come the 20th - 28th for a visit. Praying all goes well, too.

Emptynester, You are so WISE! Yes, we all need to listen to our bodies. I have FM (Fibromyalgia) and if I stress out or overdo physically, the muscles will throb, I'll be exhausted, and feel terrible! I need to baby-step my days, too. So I do activity awhile, then rest awhile. Try to nap once a day for at least 20 - 60 min., but sometimes it doesn't work out.

Waving at Harmony, Harriet, Kathryn, Lynlee, The Mrs. & Mr. Dee's, and anyone I've missed.

Ivy, I commiserate with you about everything happening at once. BTDT. Seems like regular occurrence around here a lot. Seems to happen with health things too.

MT, you were right. I sat down and sent the email. It was hard to explain why I wouldn't be coming. I had a little feeling of relief afterward. Just to know I don't have to fix my hair, get dressed up, stop at store on the way, etc.

Man, I hope this doesn't drag on much longer.

MT - Wise words! BRAVO!! >>>standing ovation!!!<<<< Please keep that soap box near-by.

Yesterday after LO nap, we went to his counselor appt. She had asked to move him to 6pm appt because of a scheduling conflict.

Afterwards we all went to church. For the first time ever - we met in an A/C room. At 77 degrees it felt down right COLD! I didn't like it AT ALL. I'm ready to trade back. Send us our heat back to us please. although, I would really like to keep the moisture for awhile :) We got another 1/2" of rain yesterday. That brings us to a 3" total rainfall for this month.

I picked peppers this morning and made a big batch of jalapeno poppers. OH WOW! They are addictive! Along with a pot of beans and a big bowl of fresh pico de gallo. I love this time of the year. Mmmmhhhhh

How decisive, Harmony. clapping.

Thanks, Emptynester. Now, all of you she mentioned - listen to her, she's exactly right. Except for me, of course, since I won't have time to do anything except plunge ahead. If that sounds foolish and you have to read it twice and frown, maybe I've given her opinions the emphasis they deserved.

Keenly aware of the timing, I know the mourners now approach the cemetery. An email arrives from our pastor. A 4th member of our small church has died in this 11 day span. Perhaps it is our pastor, Robert, who needs prayer.

I am back home after a very long meeting this morning - but productive in the sense that I got several people together and forced some decisions. Now I need to do the follow up stuff. Glad that job of temple prez won't last forever.

I have a li&t of errands, and am heading out before the day gets any hotter. High s/b 93 but heat index higher. Have quite a few emails and writing things to do later...it never ends.

Talked to dd at camp just now - she called on someone else's phone because her phone isn't working. (Just got a new phone for her last August?) She was delighted to hear that I will be at camp next weekend! (and not just because I could bring a new phone if it came to that... )

Glad MT didn't tell me to slow down....

Yeah, I probably need to hear MT's soapbox from time to time. ;) I wish she could tell that to the 2 foreign exchange programs that are now pursuing us to host a student this fall. I let them know that we're busy, and they just say that the kids will be in school. I know that - there is still lots to take my time while the kids are in school, and the kids will need time and attention outside of school, despite what they are telling me. . .

Feeling for Harmony. I wish you felt better! Is it the synthroid - or am I remembering that incorrectly? Dd17 is on synthroid but has always done very well with it.

Also thinking of Harriet returning to her new normal. . . Oh, dear. That IS hard on a congregation. Our church lost 3 children in an 8 month span last year; that was hard enough. One was an infant, one a young adult (early 20s), and one a 16 year old girl.

Ha! I think MT implicitly DID tell you to slow down, Twins. .. . . ;)

Done:
x medicated both dogs' ears
x vet appt; Maia is SO hyper today, she just won't be still. Not a problem for the vet, though. He just commented that she was exuberant. ..yes, maybe an understatement. I was trying to untangle her from the leash as I was checking out and lost hold of it - and off she went trotting after one of the techs. . . I caught up with her right before the tech went to the back room.
x more of a.m. routine - not technically done yet, though.
x made li&t
x paid online bills
x finished shower invitations - still waiting for 2 addresses
x went through med baskets so I can update OTC Meds for our trip
x made one baggie of dog food for a meal for Maia to see if a sandwich bag is large enough. It is. (We'll portion out meals for both dogs; it makes it easier on them. Dfriends are actually watching 3 dogs + Tori next week. Yikes!! They agreed to Pepper and Maia first.)
x made a short list of items to be bought

And. . I'm off again: post office box to get invites in the mail, pet store, Walgreens.

Um. .. . by "easier on them" in my previous post, I meant easier on dfriends. Antecedent is not clear - or is technically the dogs.
