My laundry just finished too. Three more loads to go, at least.

<interrupted by dh calling to say he's on his way so decided to flip the laundry and start my dinner. Didn't check any of ds's pockets on his pants but the last ones to go in felt funny. Found his wallet, so there's a smile for me! Pulled everything out and checked since he's started to carry his passport - didn't find anything else.>

Our border run was a success. There was a huge crowd of cars at the border crossing but 5 lanes were open and it only took 15 minutes. We listened to the news while we waited and wait times of 45 - 60 minutes were one of the stories.

There was a lineup at UPS too but they had 5 people on so it went quickly. Five seems to be my lucky number today!

Did the rest of our shopping (very little) and then crossed back. Were waved through so saved 15% in taxes (plus the cheaper prices.)

Stopped for lunch on the way home, then a grocery run.

Put away groceries, put in the new furnace filters (hoping that might help with smells), chatted with ds (who we woke up working on the furnace) and then started work on the service, making the changes to the sermon.

Went over to the church and set up the projector for tomorrow. Tested each thing but will have to do full setup tomorrow since each component was missing something to work with all the others.

Dinner just buzzed, dh just walked in the door. Life is good.

Tackled the start of the fall yard clean up today. Trimmed bushed in the back and my neighbor was kind enough to use his pickup to take that load to the town dump for me. Our town used to have curbside pickup for brush two times a year - once in the spring and once in the fall. They did away with that and now you have to take it to the dump for someone without a pickup truck (like me) it is now a big pain in the you know what to get rid of the brush. Anyway so my neighbor saved me from having to rent a truck to move it .

Still working on my ongoing culling recipe book project. Seeing some progress there. Planning on continuing in yard tomorrow as long as the rain holds off. Work starts this week where did the summer go?

Well Hello everyone!

Today was a quiet, day for dh and me also. I woke up at 6:30 am, dh was still asleep and I didn't want to disturb him, so I read for a while. When he did get up he told me to relax he would make breakfast. Then he brought me banana pancakes, bacon and coffee --- can't beat a Saturday morning breakfast in bed!

We got the kitchen and dining room straightened up, I did a lol, got the bathrooms cleaned and ran the sweeper. Everything's done for the week and ready in case dfam#2 visits tomorrow. Ds#1 worked so they didn't come today. His store is getting ready for their yearly inventory next Friday and he has to work straight through till then - 8 days in a row. Also got the bills set up for the next month; just have to wait for payday now.

Thursday dh had an appt with his oncologist and got a good report from the recent bloodtest. He did get a Rx for pain for his back. He must have twisted the wrong way or picked up a heavy bag of groceries or something about a week ago, his back has been hurting and he has to walk slowly and watch how he turns. The pain pills are helping him feel better.

Mike took me to the Canadian National Exhibition today to get my mind off stuff. We ate too much, walked a lot and had a very blue sky to enjoy as we walked between buildings. I stopped and smelled the roses in the rose garden.

On the way home we spoke about how we are going to deal with the contents of my dad's house (Huge 4 bedroom 2 story house) and Mike's parent's bungalow when the time comes.

I'm on the pc and I've been trying to re activated an old e-mail had to reset the pass code and that was successful yea! Had to take a break in the middle and walk.

Back from bday bbq dson got me a wireless key board for my new toy! That was a hit!

I think I have brain fry from techie over load stuff LOL!

I've been smiling most of the day...
DGS & I went to visit both great-grandmothers, then took a nap, watched the ballgame, and then watched Mary Poppins. And although I'm sure he's not real clear on all the plot points, he did seem quite happy while it was on. In the last few minutes he began to lie down in his Pack-n-Play, so I gave him his last bottle for the night, and when he started squirming in my lap, I just put him back in the Pack-n-Play. His dparents will be here to get him in another hour or so, so I figured he was just as well off there as he would be in bed. He's probably asleep by now, but I left the TV on the Sprout channel, so he's very happy.

Unfortunately, I have done absolutely nothing all day long except enjoy watching him play, and sleep while he slept.

I still have about a million shirts to iron, it seems... and of course, I am waaay behind on any semblance of routine/focus/whatever.

And I am wondering if I am supposed to tell dmom when we should go out to eat for my birthday. She mentioned it several times Wednesday when we were together, but not since then, and she has given me no card/gift/etc... and the only time we can get all our bunch together -- dh/ds/ddil/dgs -- is either tomorrow or Wednesday. So do I ask her, "Hey, do you still want to take us out to dinner?" * sheesh * Having dmom so scattered and unfocused in HER thinking is driving me nuts. However... she IS doing better. She did not need me at all today; she drove herself to the drug store and got her own lunch and she was just fine.

So... I don't know what to do about her forgetfulness. I mean, I don't want to look like I am reminding her that I got no card and no present for the first time in 52 years. * sheesh *

OH -- and one day she gave me a hundred dollar bill to cash for her, and said something like, "Here, if I forget your birthday, you can have this..." But she knew I was taking it with the express purpose of bringing her back twenties, and I did bring back her change, so I don't think she thinks that was my birthday present after all.

It's not that big a deal. I just hate her being so different and forgetful.
