Oh, thank goodness, Dee! Well, it may be strange but at least you found a way to make it work. Glad you will no longer be in withdrawal!

Emptynester, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Dr. Jamie A. Koufman's research is the cutting edge stuff for acid reflux and the whole problem of it, how it affects so many things. She is on the net with some articles. Here's her in-a-nutshell article on breaking the cycle. When you hear her compare an acid sufferer's stomach to seawater with vicious lobsters, you know she "gets it" about the pain when the "lobsters" spash upward. Her book, Dropping Acid, is one both Harmony and I own. It's just good to have someone explain the real "why?" of it, IMO. It can be so mysterious and you can't have much control when you don't know the next thing you may eat wrong or right. Yes, "enough already" for Mr. Emptynester.

Asked HRH how he feels and so far the answer is, "goofy". So maybe he was right about only needing to take half doses of that pain med. He's still napping the day away, off and on, which is what he was told to do.

We went through dd's room and have some piles - wash/keep, keep/put away, give away, trash - and I will do the follow up, change sheets, etc.

Dh went to Tar-jay for the needed printer ink cartridge and got the wrong one - I was showing him where to find the info on the printer and read off the number, thinking he was looking at it also, and he heard 92 not 932. So I need to go back to Target later...

They are leaving to get dd back to school now....I'll have a little nap to counteract the headache I have going (just took ibuprofen.)

And in the "It's always something" category, an email from a temple member that secretary, who was supposed to be helping the volunteers who were doing break-the-fast set up and clean up, "hijacked the event and treated the volunteers like hired help." Oy.

I'm sure that HRH must know by now that women are rid of their kidney stones by at least an inch earlier... or two or three or... The first time I was hospitalized for a kidney stone, the man in the bed next to me was told that repeatedly by almost everyone that went into the room. It really did not make his experience any more enjoyable but I've always gotten a laugh from it when I look back all the way to 1994.

At this point cranberry juice is no longer as helpful. Lots and lots and lots of water and then some more water. The real difference is that men aren't used to seeing blood in their urine, so they are also reacting to that. Almost every time that I have had a kidney stone, I was on my period, so I didn't notice the blood in the urine. (I actually snapped at a nurse regarding that. I don't usually snap at medical professionals.)

I need to get busy - I had a good nap, tho!

Going to work until TOTH starting at :15 after. Need to get laundry started, strip dd's bed and take care of the stuff I left in the hall upstairs (eating the elephant, one bite at a time...) finish a.m. routine.

I realized that the VP-Admin was in the kitchen yesterday for the set up and clean up and I emailed her with a broad question about whether there was anything unusual going on.

To do before tomorrow afternoon:
-clean out car, wash it
-front porch, back patio clean up
-routines around the house
-dd's room cleaned up and welcoming
-purge refrigerator
-groceries
-catch up on our laundry
-what else?

Ds is home again. Must find out what happened last night that he ended up here after calling to say he would be sleeping at a friend's house. So he was here this morning when I left, gone golfing when I came back from the morning service and arrived home while I was at my afternoon service. We'll have dinner together but he feels like pizza (leftover in freezer) and I don't have any leftover so I think I'll just have the dinner I originally planned for myself (single serving of salmon in herb and garlic sauce with a side of sweet potatoes chunks and a salad.

My second service went very well. They were delighted to see me again. I had 16 which isn't bad. Apparently no-one came last week so they had a brief hymn sing and someone read a psalm. Spent a lot of time on pastoral care after the service. My organist is 92 and she's worn out and very sad these days.

Stopped by the general store to pick up dh's lottery tickets and had a long chat with the post mistress (who is struggling with chemo to reduce a tumour to the point where it might be operable.) She is not doing well but has a good attitude. It was good to catch up on her news.

Now I'm going to watch a tv show and then we'll figure out dinner.

Coming back through here. DH is home, earlier than I expected but that's okay. I got laundry going and straightened up in MBR and bath and did a handful of other things along the way, working pretty solidly.

Will continue to next TOTH.

Oh it feels so good be able to get here. Though this computer is a bit slow, if I'm just patient, eventually the site comes up.

Went to church this morning. One couple from here also goes. They were running a bit late as they had to wait to give their dog meds. So, he dropped her off and she sat 2 rows in front of us. The gal in the row between resembles her from the back -and I've often thought this before. Well, he came in and sat right down beside Mrs. L instead of his own Mrs. S. Everyone on our side caught it as he stood back up and went up one row. After the service a friend from the other side came over and told him, "Just in case you think you got away with anything -everyone on our side caught you too!" I could see them all giggling from where was. We gave him a ride back home and of course couldn't let it lie. I suggested he look at what his dwife is wearing next week.

Went to watch dgs8 race his go-kart after church. Got there just as he was coming out for his 2nd heat. DS-R & DDIL#1 had gone to Hershey, PA for the camper show (just to look). So kept her posted as to results for that and his feature. Did well today.

I'm cooking meat to make goulash for dinner. Will be a while.

Dh has cardiac rehab in the morning at 7:30 -early because he has to go to his primary care Dr. at 9:30. Just realized on Wed. that we had 2 appointments for nearly the same time. His Dr appointment had been scheduled after he left the hospital following surgery back in June. I have to go for blood work on Tues or Wed. Dr. appointment for me on Friday -rescheduled from when dh first went in the hospital. I'm sure I'll be in trouble. Oh well, couldn't be helped. Had between 5 and 6 appointments of one kind or another for dh every week.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

I am getting started again. Had to do a longer break and eat a sandwich. I stripped the bed upstairs and will wait until tomorrow a.m. to do more up there. The a/c has been off so I'm leaving it for now...

Going to try to do to TOTH again.

Ooops, forgot to post this....still heading to TOTH I hope

I am done for. I used the blower to blow off the front/back porches and will hit again with vacuum cleaner if I have time tomorrow. Cleaned windows at front door and back patio.

Will hit it all hard tomorrow.
