Good morning SHEville!

I'm up, I'm moving. Not particularly "at-it" but at least moving. I leave in an hour so I guess I'll s2s next and then have my cereal and fruit while my hair air-dries a bit.

What a wise beginning to a our morning, Kathryn. I hope your day at church is great.

I hope all of us catch a glimpse of how the love that flows through us can benefit someone else. Also how that shows up as the caregiving that we give, whether by hands-on work or by showing interest and concern! I was witness last evening to so much general care, concern and hard work flowing through so many people as they entered room after room, going about their normal nursing and health-care with smiles and kind tones of voice. Vastly different needs in each room of our little 4-room hall, but somehow they always "switched gears" well to what was needed.

The meds made HRH sleep last night from 2 to 8, which can only help. He took a half-dose of his at-home med late. (He is seldom a compliant patient, and convinced he shouldn't take too many drugs.) And I'm sure the meds from the actual hospital visit are wearing off now, so I hope this will not turn into a tough morning. So far, no pain news is good pain news. He is right back in bed after crackers, med and water. I hope by the end of the day he'll be able to laugh at all the garden hose analogies he heard last night at ER. At the time, not so much.

Last night when I posted here, I emailed ds and ddil, who talked this out with us last night and helped convince us to head to ER. They had an early morning today, so I really hoped to let them know fast what our news was. Dd15 is just now stirring. She didn't go with us, but didn't sleep well either, and was up with us when we got home.

We've had a call from the hospital that HRH's belt was left behind. How unlike him, and so telling about the meds. That will be an item to pick up sometime today.

Remembering now Twins' Mom said she was feeling sick yesterday and hope she's better.

Remembering Harmony's worries about having so little energy and hope that changes.

Sunny, Emptynester, isn't it wonderful to have scans, tests and hospital visits over?

Had an 'ah-ha" moment this morning and went hunting for my old "notebook". Not the most wonderful answer, as it's very slow & wondered for a while if I'd even be able to get here on this, but here I am. Sure dh will wonder why my old computer is out. May have to resort to this one for a while, but at least I can get my "SHEville fix". Ahhhhhhh........

Know I can cuop for quite a while. If anything major has happened in my hiatus, please let me know. Sure hope HRH is feeling much better real soon, Harriet. Give him get well wishes from us.

I'm nearly ready for church. Dh will be in shortly to get ready. Will be asking for prayer for dd this morning. She will be asking for special prayer following the church service in FL this morning. Know for certain our pastor there will ask for some to come forward to pray with her this morning.

For the life of me, I can not figure out why I can't get the SHE site to work properly on my new computer. Had this problem in the spring and then all of a sudden it worked until the last few weeks.

Posting here and then I need to get rolling. We need to work on dd's room today, and dh has said that he will take dd back to K-town (instead of the bus.) Their relationship is improving, this weekend and last weekend they have been very good to each other.

I dread working on her room but I need to have the house together since we are hosting an Israeli educator beginning tomorrow afternoon. (Tomorrow?? Eeeeeeeckkkk!) Lots to do here in the meantime.

Dd is showering now, will work on a.m. routine for a few...

I am feeling better today - don't know if short-term fasting, mood swing, or whatever was going on yesterday.

One of the best parts of our HHD services is the music, so I'm letting that "flow through me" today. Last year the (volunteer choir) made a CD of their HHD music so I may listen to that later...

Good Morning, She-ville!

I woke at 8 a.m., but had set my dawn simulator at 9 a.m. because I wanted more sleep. Oh, well. I guess 8 a.m. was 8 hours, from when I fell asleep, so that's nice. We're supposed to have T-storms today. I have a physical this week to prepare for, hope all goes well and that lab results are good, too.

HRH, I hope you pass the kidney stones soon! Get to feeling better real soon. They can be so painful.

I'm back from my morning prayer walk. 2.5 mi. Today.

Crazy times for the Emptys. DH is still hurting - I know the ribs take a long time - but it has been 3 weeks today. Enough already!!

To top it off - I had the worst case of heartburn I've ever had - even when I was pregnant. Sat up in my chair until I got a really bad crick in my neck - then tried to go back to bed. Had to sleep with 3 pillows. And this was AFTER I took a double dose of heartburn meds. DH takes Prilosec every day and I think I will start to do that, too. I don't want to go thru last night again. I'm still sipping tea with a few crackers every once in awhile.

The weather has turned to fall here. We had to get the heater in last night as it was below 60. Just a few days ago we had the AC running all day.

Think I will try a bit of peanut butter on my crackers for a bit of protein.

Good morning, villagers ~
I've had a "friends and family" couple of days.

In the middle of Friday errands, I squeezed in an all-too-brief meeting with a good friend for a glass of iced tea at a fast food place. Our schedules have not meshed for several weeks. We didn't have time to catch up all the news, but it was still good to see her for a short chat.

Yesterday was DSis's birthday and her fiance planned a surprise party. DSis had already planned an evening party at a local pub, for a big crowd because it was to be a joint party with 3 other friends sharing birthdays the same week. DSis's fiance thought she would also enjoy a family party with all the little grandkids, so he organized the whole surprise thing with decorations, cake/ ice cream, pizza delivery for supper, etc. DSis's daughters helped, of course, but they said that he really did almost everything. He got DSis out of the house for a massage & mani/pedi so the girls could put up the decorations and everyone could gather.

I'm sure DSis figured out something was going on when they drove back to the neighborhood and she saw all of our cars. I heard that someone may have spoiled the surprise with a FB post, but DSis claimed she had not seen the post. In any case, it was a family party for which she did not have to plan or do any of the prep work, and since she has toddler grandbabies her house is always clean so she didn't even have to worry about that.

It was a fun afternoon. DH had recorded some funny podcasts for us to listen to on the way to and from the party, almost an hour drive each way. We got to see all that family and you know one of my favorite things is to watch the little cousins play with each other.

We were invited to the big party at the pub last night but declined. The other birthday celebrants were DSis's friends that we haven't met. We knew we would only know at most half a dozen people out of the couple hundred that were expected to be there. DH would have absolutely hated it.

Today I'll deal with 3Ds and a bit of dejunking, but not much else on the calendar.
