Re: Wednesday Wondering
Cowinkie: hoping the meds reverse your lousy feeling fast.
It is a very nice day and I had an awful, messy, chore to do, so opted to do it outside.
Trying to rid my plants of the dang scale one of the orchids brought into the house. I've spent a year fighting a losing battle so the orchids are all gone and today I've done a last ditch effort to save the dieffenbachia (which has been part of our family for about 27 years) and my large spider plant. The plants themselves don't seem to mind the scale too much but I mind it (although the orchids never bloomed again), especially when I don't know which plant it will jump to next. African violets and purple heart seem to be resistant so far and Pierre (a ficus) is not being allowed near any of the others just in case he catches it.
So I repotted both the infected plants in fresh soil after bathing them in soapy water and wiping as much of the scale I could see off the plants. I also repotted all my African violets and one root-bound purple heart (I've got three of those now, one getting quite large.)
I'm inside resting out of the sun for a bit. Still need to clean off the front porch from the mess I made.
Will check the clothes line to see if anything is dry so I can hang out the next (last) load of laundry.
Ds has just finished packing all the drugs I'm making him take.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Nancy, do you mean they are going overboard running it on and on? Is it noisy?
((Cowinkie)) rest, rest.
Sadie and Cowinkie, consider probiotic capsules for an "antidote to antibiotics", as my hormone dr suggested to me.
((Ivy and dh)) "No fair piling on!" So glad the tv popped on and hope that's a sign it will keep it up.
blessed, my kitchen gets away from me when I start cooking more. If I will just go through drive throughs more, I have a neater kitchen!
(No, no, bad advice! Bad!)
Yes, I did get a lot done yesterday considering a long trip and waiting at appt, also having to change into different clothes, get ready, etc. Somehow, I think I internalized that and have not accomplished as much as I wanted today! Sigh. Then tomorrow - another appt to dentist for dd, almost as far away. And she wants me to make it a teaching trip insofar as handling traffic, etc.
Btw, she says she got many BIG compliments on the new shoes, which others tell her are super stylish. To me, their outstanding feature is how big they are, something like a wide-ankle orthopedic boot in size and shape. But who am I to question fashion. Thought ya'll might want to see what those in the know at her school consider cool fashion right now. (I'm sure you'll all want to go right out and buy these for yourselves, to wear to the grocery.}

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Harriet, those shoes look super comfortable, even I would try them. I love the colors!
(Cowinkie) feel better.
Ivy, so sorry for breakdowns. 2 TV's ago, we had one which wouldn't turn on unless we smacked it pretty hard a couple times on the frame. {Harriet will no doubt recall Onslow hitting his TV on the top each time to get it on}
One Thanksgiving, DD & DSiL made it here a day before we came and they did not want to hit our TV, so he replaced it with an equally old one his mother was getting rid of. That worked for another couple years till it finally went. I'm glad yours is working again.
Oh, I also recall at DD's house, she said not to turn the tv off, it wouldn't turn back on for a long long while after starting each time...and they were turning down the sound and blacking out the picture each evening. I'd have been afraid of it starting a fire that way...
I've spent hours doing financial report for someone, having to go back into things 5 years and create a rather lengthy detailed report. Got that done just as they called about it again, scanned, emailed back...phew. How freeing that feels! I stopped for lunch but that's all for today. Going to take a break now. The rain has stopped for a bit.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Hello Dear Ladies,
Another wonderful weather day here.
Ate healthier food these past two days and am feeling a bit better with my joints. Also used aspercreme before going to sleep last night. Think it helped with the morning stiffness. Using a couple of patches today on my back and shoulder. Don’t want to just rely on Advil or other oral meds as I know that can lead to problems too.
Today’s task was to clean the bathrooms and I did both of them. Plus cooked for today and part of tomorrow. I get so down at times over the things I don’t get to, but DH told me to just think about the things I have done and go easy on myself. I’m going to take a short nap before heading to work.
Tomorrow is floors. Sweep and mop kitchen. Hoping to vacuum too.
Inventory is fast approaching at work so plenty to do there too.
Time to go rest.
Great day to all!

Re: Wednesday Wondering
We had a tv we had to hit but that was to get the station to tune properly.
Third load of laundry was half on line, half in dryer. I've got no patience today and knew the socks wouldn't dry on the line so just tossed them in the dryer along with ds's shirts which can go into the dryer.
Was bouncing from task to task because I had no focus and kept forgetting to do things but I've now managed to get to a break point. Finished with the plants, cleaned that up, started dinner, portioned out the remaining 3 racks of ribs and got those into the freezer, made myself lunch, loaded the dishwasher in order to tidy the kitchen up, folded ds's clothes from the dryer and found the missing sock (of all the socks he had, at least 10, this was the only one he was taking with him so it had to be found.)
My headache is still bugging me.
Gave up trying to finish the Sue Grafton book due today. The second half was more 'therapy' for her to work through her mother's death and while I would have gladly read the same from any of you because we have a relationship, I truly didn't care what this author was going through because we didn't. And the story wasn't compelling enough to make me read on. I only have 20 pages left in the book but it isn't worth the effort.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
lol! dharriet! the other day I did that... I went to california pizza kitchen and ordered soup and put it in pot and served it to the family... I rinsed out the containers and they didn't even notice ... 2 days later dd older laughed and said that I didn't fool her (not my plan lol) but she didn't realize until last night lol
hi dharmony, hi d sadie, hi d kathryn
dinner is in the crock pot, emptied out dw and refilled with making dinner dishes
floors make a difference especially with all the creatures we have now and my kitchen floor and my kitchen still looks like someone blew it up.
I have to pick up dd and I hit a piece of tired.
listened to the movie: the thrill of it all with doris day - I may not be able to view it bc I was busy working and it was fun to hear it.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
I've read through the grocery flyers for the sales that start Friday. Roast beef is on sale, so I'll pick that up on Friday, the rest of the stuff tonight while I'm out.
Will run the book over to the library now since I'm not driving past a library tonight. Actually, I'll style my hair first and then do the book.
