What are you wondering about these days?
I'm wondering how I'll survive the week.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
My bad headache from yesterday stayed with me through the night.
I'm sure it is due to stress. I'm also sure that once ds is actually gone, I'll be fine. I think the stress is due to dreading hugging him goodbye at the airport.
I'm up. Unloaded the dishwasher and started a load of laundry. I need to s2s before putting it out on the line and I hear it is in its final spin now.
Have 2 more loads of my things to do and a load of ds's. I'm doing his laundry right now because I desperately want to do things for him to let him know that he's part of my heart.
I'll see dd for about an hour tonight which will be a bright spot in my day. I also need to phone my minister friend and find out if I'm visiting him on Sunday. He doesn't do email and I don't do phone calls so communication between us is tentative.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Twins, I'm the slowest horse out of the gate!
(Kathryn). Understand. I remember standing in the corner crying the day my DD moved out of the town to the center of the state....and she was only going 3 hours away. Then I thought she wanted some space and I didn't call or write, and she was suffering with home-sickness. At least you and your dson will be doing email, right?
We have a steady rain this morning again. I went out on the porch to have my coffee and watch the rain, like a lady of leisure(!) and had to come back in for my jacket. It was 72° and breezy. Look out East Coast, this is coming your way and worse this weekend!
I have dishwasher running and I am S2S but nothing else started/done yet. I must finish at my desk first, and then see what I'm in the mood to do.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Good Morning!
I am on schedule and making a showing in each timeslot. Not perfection - just an honest effort.
I am wondering about people who get pets and then let them roam free. I frustrated with neighbors dogs. Actually I am frustrated with the neighbors not taking care of their dogs and letting them run free. I'm guessing this is growing pains from the local housing development. People move "to the country" and act differently than they would in town. The housing developments are in city limits, our land is not. Even though there is only a fence separating us, the rules are different. Their dogs come into our pasture and get the livestock running and our dogs upset. I've repeatedly told the neighbors what their dogs are doing, but they continue to let their dogs run free. What are our choices? We can wait for the donkey to kick and probably kill their dogs. We can wait for their dogs to hurt the livestock which at that point we will immediately put the dogs down (Permanently). None of those are options are good ones. I don't want to hurt their dogs......I want the owners to take care of them and keep them where they belong!!! grrrrr.....

swiffer dusted, swiffer floor wipe and wall and picture wipe, vaccummed and washed front closet floor and swiffer rinsed the front hall with bona floor wash.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
OKay, you could call to ask how badly their dog was hurt.
By the donkey kick.
"Oh, you don't think it hit him this time, thank goodness."
No, that was just an impish thought I had.
But if dogs come onto your property to chase and threaten your livestock, you have to assume they can become as bad as wild predators, and the livestock owner has to go get the gun. Sad but true. If nipping at heels is happening, that can turn ugly fast. And how can you chance a pasture birthing? I'm sure you've thought of shooting in the air. Another step might be number 8 birdshot at a distance when you've chased them off. There is also the complication of a dog, or, if they come together, a pack, that gets "the taste of blood" when previously they were house dogs who wouldn't hurt a fly. This can be very serious for the dog owner. There is no substitute for the dog owner recognizing the problem, really, and doing something about it. Oh, next time you talk make sure they understand the vet bill goes to their household if your animals are harmed.
Elizabeth, congrats on a practical use for a degree! Many would tease that they find no practical use for theirs.
Sadie, pain that is different on different days really could be food-related. So smart to keep a record. Hope ds feels chipper soon.
Lynlee, I loved the Ireland travel story. How often have I thought (and I hope, not said aloud) that I wished the traveler were starting from a different point so that my directions could be clearer! LOL!
lucylee explains seasons in our general area quite well. First we have winter, then on the second day of spring, we start summer.
Emptynester, that's a "must" for a fishing spot - no rocks. Is there a bubble bath in your future?
Kathryn, I enjoyed the link and sent it on to several Daddys. I am so proud of your ds and the adventure ahead of him. Distance is bridged so much better by technology these days. Many high hopes.
I had an appt yesterday and the day was so disjointed after that I never really got on line. Did get our linens changed. Found school shoes that will do well. Bought a copy of a book for English (after having it right in our hands from the library) because the teacher just remembered
to tell students he expects them to make notes through their copies and would rather they not use Kindle, etc. Sigh.
Tomorrow is dentist for dd. So that's one scheduling thing I'm wondering about.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Morning ya'll...
Yesterday I went to see my PA because I've been having sinus headaches and just haven't felt well. I've been going to Niesha...she's an India's decendant..for several years. We have a great relationship and are friends.
When Niesha came in the room she as asked what was going on and I told her. Niesha told me to get up on the examination table and open my mouth. When she put the light in to check my throat she "YELLED" OMG...not something you want to hear from a medical person...and I about jump off the table.
I looked at her and said..not quietly I might add..whats wrong, whats wrong. It was at that point she realized she had scared both of us. Niesha told me I had a massive sinus infection. She asked me how long I had been feeling bad. I told her several weeks.
Niesha went on to do the rest of the exam. After she was done she said...Honey, you must have an incredible tolerance to pain. I don't know how you can be standing here. She sent my pharmacy a bunch of prescriptions and told me to go home and go to bed.
Before I left, Niesha hugged me and said... Next time don't fool me like that... You look way too good to be so sick. I love that girl.
I just ate a bit of breakfast so I could take my meds, and now I'm going back to bed. Cy'all later.

Re: Wednesday Wondering
Good Morning, Villagers!
It's 51*, partly sunny, will be 62* for a high with 20% chance of showers today. It looks so cold outdoors.
Wednesday Wondering is a good one and so fitting for me today!
I'M WONDERING WHEN OUR BAD LUCK WILL END!
That's what I wonder! First:
- The capacitor to the submerged pump needed to be replaced, so we could get water pressure and later, so we could get water! We had to pay for a new capacitor, a new box, new wiring, and a new gauge.
- DH was "trying" to fix the master shower door, with a hammer on a hinge doo-hickey and BAM! The shower door went into a zillion pieces! Thank God he was NOT hurt. But he cleaned up one bad big stinking mess of glass, and we have to pay for a new door to be installed. This happened when 2 grandsons were here to also shower in the master bathroom, where the broken door was, so we all 4 had to use the guest/main tub shower instead. (At least we had THAT one!)
- Then, DH was traveling to Seaside, OR to get my horse trough-turned-planter and Dad's memorial bench, from my Dsis. He had Dgson-16.5 with him, he made it 20 min. out and the truck was smoking really BAD!
Had to come home, then that week get $400 worth of repairs done on his truck!
- Then, the alarm to the septic 3-tank system kept going off, DH turned it off, looked in each tank and that's right! We were all back/plugged up! We got them pumped for $600!
- Then, the alarm to the septic needed to be replaced with a new box, new wiring and $300 later, we got that done!
- Then, I got a new med for asthma, which is a inhale steroid and I found out I'm now in the doughnut hole and that bill was about $300!
- Then, DH got the sedan worked on, said it was due, so it's done now.
- Then, the fridge died! We got a new one, Dson took the old one, in hopes to get it repaired.
- Then, right NOW, DH is sitting in front of our NOW-DEAD TV trying to get it to come on and it WON'T!
It's about 9 years old. We cannot get a new one because we have property taxes to pay by Halloween, but it's just the last set on the last parcel, so at least we're paying THOSE!
So no new TV for us right now. DH will need to watch TV in the bedroom on the 40" Sony nice TV, which has a better picture on it than the great room one. So this means I'll be able to listen to music and/or the radio in the great room, have quiet for reading, etc... All total, with all of our bad luck things, we've paid $7,000 out since June. Used checking when we could, had to charge when necessary. SO MY WEDNESDAY WONDERING IS, "IS IT EVER GOING TO END?"
With fall b-days coming up for family, with the holidays coming, we'll just pull in that belt tighter and pray nothing else goes wrong. At least my physical and lab work were 100% great and I'm healthy and normal! When we have our health and loved ones, that's everything. So, as DH tries to get our probably-dead-now TV to work, I sit here typing this, just shaking my head at what a wild ride it's been since June. There are other expensive things, which occurred in there, too, but to be honest with you, there are so many of them, I've forgotten them all. Maybe it's age or just too much for my brain to remember. At least we're alive and kicking, have a lovely family, and aren't homeless or ill or anything terrible. Just had a run of bad luck, but that's what they call life.
