Re: Taking flight Friday
Yes, our neighbor was just told he had cancer but they hadn't got the test results back for stage yet. It seems crazy to me how fast life can change.
LucyLee - enjoy! Safe travels!
DH said DGS7 woke him up this morning begging for DH to come to his school and eat lunch with him today. So DH will be a bit later making it home than originally thought. DH still plans to be here in time to join K&K in our evening meal.
I had forgotten how many interruptions that are at MPB. Doing a 5 minute chore can sometimes be interrupted so often that it takes 10 times as long. I needed to spend 5 minutes in the back equipment room (VERY NOISY place) doing a chore. During that time....
** DBrother called so I walked outside to get away from the noisy equipment. DBrother started laughing on the phone and said "I can see you". I scanned the line of vehicles that was waiting to be washed until I found him. He knew I was working inside (he saw my car). I stood and chatted with DBro until his vehicle made it to the front of line (about 30 minutes). Then I went back to my 5 minute chore in equipment room and started again.
** Before I even made it to the back area, the front door opened up (EEEK! I forgot to lock it!!) and in walked one of DH friends. Chat...chat...chat ..... I walked outside because I feel weird being in an enclosed area with a man (even a VDFriend that I trust with my life) so we could be in full view of everyone while we chatted.
** While chatting, a customer called out to me that the credit card reader wasn't working. He said he had tried 2 cards and it denied both of them. I left VDFriend and went to help customer. I told him all cards should be accepted so he handed me a Credit card and I put it in the machine and it was accepted with no problem. I handed the CCard back to him and told him he was ready to go. Then he said "I need my CCard back. You didn't give it back".
ARRGH!!! I emptied my pockets out and told him yes I did return the CCard to him. I told him to go ahead and wash his vehicle (long line waiting behind him) and we would find his CCard when he finished. I waited at the exit end of the wash (8 minutes) for him to come out. He rolled his window down and said he found his CCard. He had put it in the wrong place.
** Then I went back to start again doing the 5 minute chore that I have now been trying to do for over an hour.
DH seems to get through all the chores with no problems. Maybe I'm just extremely sidetrackable.
Next up - process MPB daily receipts

(((((Kathryn))))) Have a great flight, I hope you'll get a good rest on the plane, and will be pain-free today. I'll pray for you and your back.
Today, I plan on taking flight by tackling my laundry, putting out hot spots and working on snail mail and a story, too.
I hope Everyone has a GR8 Flight Friday, too!

Posting for Kathryn. Her IP is blocked
In Chicago in the United Lounge. We got in just before they cleared up breakfast so I'm having granola, a bagel and a banana plus some juice.
Dee: I'm on my way to OKay's neighbourhood for the weekend and then on to Santa Fe.
Pain level is low but I'm dosing myself as well to help with that. The cane helps me reduce the strain on my back and if my right side gives out, I can catch myself by leaning on it. So glad I brought it.

Re: Taking flight Friday
Lilac, I hope your dd and dgd get answers at the doctor and dgd feels better soon.
OKay, so sorry about your neighbor, so sorry about frustrations at the MPB. I hate that moment of two people having to say they don't know which kept/got the credit card. That's disconcerting for everybody, and you had to just live with it while he went through, spending time worrying about it!
Safe travels on Taking Flight Friday!
((helia)) I truly want to comfort you ... um.... puppies grow into sensible dogs? Often? hugs to you!
(body parts
)
I was actually lying in the bed this a.m. (having gone back to bed after school run time) when funeral home next called. sigh. That call was about the clothing but we got that straightened out. Next I got ahold of a copy of the newspaper and no one could live with me for a while after that. Simply unacceptable. After getting permission from dear Uncle, I called funeral home and was absolute that the family required this to be run correctly tomorrow, at no charge to dear Uncle. Neither entity (fh or paper) wants to admit fault (IMO fault lay with format fh used to send), but somehow all paragraphing was dropped
and the whole obit crammed together as one paragraph. First time I've ever seen anything printed like that in all my years with paper or reading it. I will wait until tomorrow's paper comes and buy a few extras, maybe laminate for him. Trying not to be too irritated.
Dear Uncle is visibly tired after shopping this morning for a new shirt. He is still supposed to go to funeral home for viewing before 5. I'm ready for something that looks like a normal day. Looks like Tuesday.
My schedule tomorrow, as well as HRH's is up in the air. We had agreed to keep our green-eyed-boy but funeral/visitation is in the morning. At this point we think we'll tag-team, but that will be tiring.

Re: Taking flight Friday
I have fed kiddos lunch, we have done hen chores.
Time to clean up the kitchen and do one holiday chore card. Bring up Christmas bears.
We dumped the upstairs trash.
I have done some knitting also.

Re: Taking flight Friday
The dr. could find nothing wrong with dgd2 besides the ending of a cold. He did do a strep screening, just in case. Haven't heard back from that. I watched dgd2 while they closed on the house and had the utilities put in their name.
Today is payroll day at dd2s shop, so she has to mess with that. What a day! I will pick up dgd4 from daycare and go to their old house and watch both girls while she waits at the other house for the cable guy. She had planned to take the girls over there but when they turned on the heat, it didn't come on. It was 50's in there. The furnace has some kind of new digital thermostat on it. Dsonil went and bought batteries, luckily that was the issue but it will take a while to warm up the house.
Dh has had a cold for 2 weeks. He might be getting over it, finally. I've been taking A irborn but I have had the sniffles today. Just what I need.
The reason I have to be at the old house is because a guy from the flooring company is coming to replace a piece of trim at 4.
Dd2 is really excited about the new house. She has realized that when she is there, she has no doubts. It's only when she is away from there that the what ifs start. Too late now, they are dual home owners.
