Gee, I don't want to complain... ..

and Nancy, that was funny, snowfun zone "progression" of how you feel each day, "let me out of here".
I know many have significant winter problems, like OKay with black ice, while today we got sunshine.

but... ...
this is a bad forecast here. A parfait layering of freezing rain, accumulating snow, and ice, and there's a difference of opinion in which order :| but all say just continue expecting layering of snow again or maybe ice again, and everyone's sure of the freezing rain again. So we will have white and shine when we look out windows, too, but definitely NOT anything to play in or walk on assuming you want to stay upright and out of the ER. They (forecasters) are using graphics for Wednesday that I've never even seen before - looks like stiff awning shapes of shine at an angle, then precipitously falling off. What is THAT supposed to signify?

So often you hear folks say, "why can't it just snow?".

Dd and I went out to the grocery store, so that could hold us if needed, for several days to a week. Might not have done so much, but dcousin on phone was insistent to get enough groceries in the house now.

She will get in a make-up day tomorrow, and have only one to still make up. But undoubtedly they will miss more following.

Kathryn, I hope you can figure out the clothing puzzle. You do need to have your feet warm, primarily, I would think.

Nancy, BTDT with noticing chicken door open in the night.

Lynlee, I've just got to feel sorry for that lady's neighbors and wonder what faults she finds with them. So glad to hear you are pm-ing back and forth with Kathryn.

Took over the kitchen here for a bit. Got tired of looking at dirty dishes so asked if I could wash them up. Got the go ahead and did while our host was out for a run. Ds and I are having cheese & salami on crackers for our lunch. And carrots. Once that is done, we'll clear out of here so she can have her kitchen and living room for after school with her kids.

Ended up having to do two loads of laundry. Half went into the dryer, the other half on lines I put up in the bathroom/laundry room (one room.) Hopefully things will be dry enough by morning to need only a few minutes in the dryer at most. I put on a skirt and yoga pants (plus shoes and socks) and warmed up that way while my jeans were washed. Ds was wearing shorts and his towel as a sarong to stay warm since his only pants were in the wash.

I need to get to work on paperwork since we are generating business expenses for this trip that need to be tracked.

I'm afraid we're going to get that winter parfait you speak of, Harriet... and of course, we HAVE TO buy groceries b/c Monday is our day -- sometimes Sunday nights -- so we will be in there with all the crazies who MUST HAVE milk and bread. I do hope my dmom has got hers, btw. I tried to call her just now but no answer. Maybe that is a good sign that she went to church tonight.

Well, as you can all imagine, being people who did not go to bed till 5:00 a.m., we have slept a lot of the day away. Yes -- that is when my little family returned home. And then ds was off again this morning by 7:45 to meet his group again (different from last night) and do two church singings. I've really been nervous about him driving on no sleep today, but he only had to do about an hour each way on his own, and * hopefully * was able to sleep in between morning and night services.

I have s2s, used facial masque, done daily Bible reading, taken my allergy shot, folded the load of socks & t-shirts left in the dryer last night, tried on & put away two newly purchased sweaters, talked to dmil and tried to talk to dmom. Oh -- and I read the paper in between naps. ;)

Tomorrow, we will have dgs for a few hours, Tuesday we go to nursing home singing w/ds, and then Wednesday night, I will have dgs for all afternoon and late into the night. It's kind of exhausting, but I am soooo thankful he's close by, and it will give me opportunity to work on the talking with him. I have to admit, I give him too much tv time when he's here, too -- something I worry about when he's home -- but I think I can take credit for teaching him to point out his eyes/nose/ears/etc. DS & DDIL were impressed with his new trick yesterday. :D
Tomorrow is another day.

posting from Monday 2hr west across the ditch from Kathryn. - well 3hr if they have daylight saving there.
NZ is the place with glaciers so it has to keep up a regular round of cold for that. Apparently its the lack of land mass that has latitudes colder in the south than the nort. Not that seems to hold at the moment with NAmerica deep freeze where it usually doesn't. Remembering friends camping in their homes in tents glad of a fireplace after ice storm and extended power cut.
Hope Katheryn and ds (and dh) can cover the bases with clothing needed. I think the low that had been up in the coral sea paid a visit down there.

It took me a while to wind down last night so I read for 20 min. a book of letters, current ones I'm reading were written after ww1 from red cross help place in Europe.
woke to open my eyes at 8.15am. tmeds, then just had time for juice & milk - my version of a quick smoothy.
yoga this morning
dropped in 2 excess diaries to vinnies - op shop. Had a look and bought nothing.
ate seed cereal - sort of lunch
expecting man soon. I ort take a look and see to moving thinks/ cleaning around that corner. I have things hiding behind the door - broom and whatever.
Just begin.

We have 4" of melting snow now, which rain's washing away.
I wrote 2 letters day, worked handwriting a short story in pencil for 1 hour, and have done 1 lol and a Conga.
I'll finish up on my Conga tomorrow; there won't be laundry to do- as I foresee.
Something happened comical to me about a security code, I was making it way too complicated, but when I finally figured out what they wanted, it was so simple, I should have known better, so have been laughing about it ever since! Technical computer stuff!
I need to journal, but prayed while taking a s2s, etc...
Need to finish a thank you-Valentine's card to a couple for some gifts they gave me in a thank you for something I'd made them. It's comical how we keep sending each other thank you cards back & forth. ;)
It's been quiet in the great room with the broken TV not going, but we play radio. DH watches the Canadian Olympics station and 2 U.S.A. Olympics stations in the bedroom. When I need to take a break/rest, I go lay on the bed and watch a few minutes, then am up and running again.
I was so happy to realize I've lost 9 Lbs. since a Jan. date and only need to lose about 7-8 Lbs. before I'll be 175 Lbs. :!: :P I tried on different pairs of jeans today, which will be the next sizes down. At least I'll have something to wear. DH is making buttermilk pancakes, so we'll finish off the buttermilk, rather than waste it.
I told him only 1 pancake and 2 eggs for me tonight, rather than 2 pancakes and 1 egg. I don't want to be stuffed and I need more protein tonight. Just been on the go.

Everyone who has snow, stay safe, and warm. Now we're seeing our short-lived snow disappear, but the birds at the feeder in the snow have been breath-taking. :D

Have a nice evening and great start to the week tomorrow. :D

Oh, graphic has been explained to me. It is designating a specific forecast of "Icicles", and is an interpretation of an icy roof, with icicles then hanging directly down off its edge.

Ooooh... .... fun. :|

Ivy, congratulations on goal success.

Dd and I enjoyed the second Sherlock episode.

Dstepson and family visited.

Hi everyone! It is 9 pm and I am just now getting to my computer! A combination of late night at friends' + migraine in the am for me made us miss Sunday School, but we did make church. They have started collecting for the 'baby shower' for a local crisis pregnancy center, so I was able to drop off my crocheted items. DD11 and I were invited to lunch with the seniors group. I am not quite old enough (just under 50) and I always have DD on Sunday, so I had never gone. We ended up going to a place I had wanted to try in a town about 45 minutes away. We actually needed the AIR CONDITIONER!!! There is still snow on the ground in the shadows! DD wanted to find a toy shop in the town, but we were unsuccessful. We did locate ice cream though. On the way home I got pestered about what her birthday present will be (dragon painting by yours truly). I didn't tell. We also made a list of things for my parents to do when they visit in April. DD wants to take them to Durango, but that is a 6 hour drive and I am not sure that is what they will want to do. I did put it on the list, but did not guarantee anything other than discussing it with them. Got her back to XDH on time, had dinner, and had long phone convo with friend about some stray cats. Another delay was an unexpected LOL caused by foster kitten knocking over LARGE glass of sweet tea and the resulting wet towels.

What I cannot fail to do tonight: file unemployment claims for 2 weeks, check emails, send requested resume, and crochet enough on the commission project to allow customer to try on tomorrow. Also, print cowl pictures for another potential commission and print black cat pictures for art class tomorrow.

Other things I ought to do tonight: balance checkbook, Bible study.

Tomorrow's plan: art class (with try on of crochet), job search, more Bible study, call school for volunteering, Happy Hour with friends (possibly XDH and the other woman will be there), cooking in quantity (cube steak and pot roast).

I tried to post earlier but lost the connection. It was before I had written it at least.
H. Is feeling better, I made muffins for dinner.

Glad for the feed the freezer and pantry stocked with soups during the snow we had this weekend six and 3/4 ths inches today when I got up.

I do think I will need to reschedule dr. Apt. In the a.m. Because of icy roads I doubt they will melt before my 8 ish apt. it is not quite as warm tonight as they forecast, but first night in a while the have not had the heat lamp on. I cleaned the coop this afternoon. Cleared snow out of the run, and made some trails.

I have enjoyed reading your posts.

Finished the blue scarf. Enjoyed some of Olympics this evening.
