Tuesday timing

Just finished the meal plan and groc. list for the week. Why is everything taking so long today?

I did tutor this a.m. and then spent hours looking at state park websites, trying to figure out what is available the dates our small group wants to go. Not much - but surprisingly, one of the more highly rated state parks has plenty of spots. It makes me suspicious. . . .Hmm.....

I'm off to the groc. store now. I'll work on finishing the a.m. routine and laundry when I get back. I'll need to leave again at 4:15 for dd15's oboe lesson.

MPB is still down. DH is working until exhaustion stops him then he comes home sleeps/eats and goes back to start again. He worked until 11:30 last night and was back at it early this morning. He just came home to eat a late lunch and rest a few minutes before returning. I wish there was some way to help him but it is a one person job on top of the 12' ladder. There isn't room to put a second ladder close enough to be of any assistance….and honestly I don't have a clue how to do the repairs so I probably would be a hindrance instead of a help. I am making go-fer runs for DH and keeping him supplied with coffee. LO and I made another part run last night that caused LO to get into bed 2 hours late. I need to get him into bed ASAP tonight.

This morning I took DMom with me to a US Forest Service tree sale. These trees are grown locally (about 50 miles from me) and sold at a GREATLY reduced price because they are sold in bulk. Minimum purchase is 100 trees/shrubs (at least 50 of each variety). I selected Shumard Red Oak and Lilacs. I have no intentions of planting ONE HUNDRED trees/shrubs but the price was about the same as buying 2 trees (same size) from local nursery. After I finish planting all that I want, I will give the others away to family/friends. I have 3 planted so far…….it is slow going because digging holes in a drought region is not an easily accomplished task.

This morning I also contacted a fella to come kill the gopher/moles in the yard. I've tried trapping them myself and had zero success. He is coming tomorrow night to set out traps and said he can usually solve the problem in less than a week. I certainly hope so! They have destroyed my flower garden by eating all the roots and bulbs. Kinda like shutting the barn door after the horse escapes. Once I know they are gone, I will start AGAIN planting bulbs and flowers.

Had a good meeting this morning. Got refreshments bought just fine. Brought home a lot with me. Dh appreciated the snacks.

Dh took our car to get the oil changed and to replace the alternator. Came back with the news that there's an anti-freeze leak somewhere that we have to watch for. He kept hearing the alternator getting noisier and wanted to be sure I didn't have trouble on the way home. Now I'll worry about the anti-freeze/water.

Got the dishes done from last night -finally. Took a little snooze till the mechanic called me to get our debit card #. Dh had tried to get his Amer ican X press to work and it wouldn't take his card for some reason. I wanted to pay cash anyway.

DD had her treatment team meeting with gd's facility this morning. She sent me a text about that and it looks like we might make a couple of trips over Spring Break.

Bought some shredded cheese to put on some goulash tonight. I'll bake it and it'll taste a little different than the first time around. Makes dinner easy (for me).

Good luck with the gopher moles, Okay. A pain I realize! Dh kept losing wave petunias on the berm to ground hogs/woodchucks. They especially loved the red blossoms!

Home but have to leave in a moment. I'm desperately tired but can't do anything about it since I can't grab a soft drink (Lent.) Maybe I'll make some tea to take with me.

Errands today were quite successful. Hope my meeting is just as successful.

Forgot to tell Harmony that I'm glad her dh could come home yesterday and I hope he has a quick recovery at home. Wondering if this means more time and energy for you.

Groceries have been bought and mostly put away. I'm going to finish that and then grab stuff and head out with dd15.

It is 52* right now. Hard to imagine that we're going to be getting a lot of snow in a few hours. Rumors are flying that as much as 12 inches might fall, but the web site I use says 4 - 8. At least we have a house full of food now. --Just what I need - to be snowed in in a house full of food. LOL!

I'm making chicken fajitas tonight, something I rarely make. I found a recipe that looks good! Had to buy some lime juice.

Tuesday timing brought me out of bed early because we had to get ready to go to the tax accountant's office to sign papers, pay them, and paid the IRS $98 because I did so well at writing in 2013. Our accountant was tickled pink, complimented me, and said, "You did SO WELL this year! Keep up the good work!" It made me feel all warm and fuzzy all over! ♥

But when we got to the grocery store, I wanted to purchase a bunny, for my "Bunny Room" collection, and those warm fuzzy things just weren't to be found- unless I wanted to pay $15 for a very large one. They had Winnie the Pooh's and Tigger dressed up with bunny ears on them, they were holding fabric-covered eggs in their hands, but not what I had in mind. Sometimes, at Costco, they sell long boxes with a half dozen bunnies in them, which I've bought before. But silly me, with the generous heart, I give my bunnies to babies, toddlers who are new to our home, when they visit with their parents, and so my collection's a bit depleted, but not bad. Because the more bunnies I get, the more clutter there is, right? However, I sit them up across the sleeper sofa, on an antique quilt, along the wall, where they're just so cute! Occasionally, I'll go in there, to discover a few askew, because Kitty Cat sniffs them, walks along them, and gets them out-of-place. I don't mind. All I do is straighten them up.

DH and I bought me some hypoallergenic mascara with bees wax in it and a little compact full of a variety of eye shadows. I felt like getting pretty again, having had eye problems last year, made me purge everything. I'll be sure to replace my mascara in 3 months. Isn't that the date you change mascara? Does anyone know?

We got a corned beef with lots of fat and it was smaller than the expensive ones at $18 a whack! We got apple juice to cook it in our electric pressure cooker with on St. Patrick's Day. I have oodles of green clothes, too. Nobody's gonna pinch ME!

It's beautiful and sunny here! I bought an organizing magazine by Better Homes & Gardens, I believe it was. I want to get to reading it. I had some plans on organizing my papers for rubber stamping, but realized how I have 4 small bins with papers in them, at the end of my desk in my small office, stacked up. The small office used to be the craft room. I'm seriously considering taking these little bins to the "Bunny Room" and opening them up and re-organizing the papers into them, and then I'll re-stack them for the small office again. I'm going to label the little bins though. Luckily they're clear ones, too. If I can get the majority of the papers off the "Bunny Room" desk, into these bins, and put back away, it'll be such a big help. I also have an art tote with wheels and a handle on it, like a luggage carrier, in the main office, which can hold crafts, too.

I'd better sign off. Everyone have a great day. I need to sweep the dining room and great room, dust them, for FOCUS on the living room today.

A successful round of errands - vet, bank (turns out the lady forgot to order my checks!) cleaners, gassed the car and sent it through car wash. I spent some time vacuuming and cleaning the inside of several windows and applying some armour all to the dash etc. I had a big coffee spill several weeks ago, then there was broken glass from the broken window, and then dirt from my dunking in the creek so things are much better. Then a W alMart trip and I got groceries and several other items I couldn't have found at regular grocery - in fact, I had to go back in to get the doggy bags to p/u poop because I forgot them.

I've unloaded the car and I'm trying to figure out what's next.

My job is all about being on time all the time. In 48 hours from now, I will be on vacation and the only time I will have to think about is getting to the airport on time NEXT Thursday.

I know that I'm having a good vacation when I forget what day it is.

I put on my big bucket sun hat, made of canvas. Looks like something for a Safari. I put on my wrap-around eyeglasses, over mine (because of eye problems) and grabbed a body pillow, folded it in half. I put it on Dad's memorial bench, on our patio, with my back facing the sunshine. I wrote on a letter for awhile. My shoulder was getting hot, through my pullover sweater, so I decided it was time to come in. I don't know what I'm going to do about Dad's bench being so hard, even with a doubled-over body pillow. :?:Perhaps if I put a small pillow on top of it, that will help. It's so uncomfortable.

I got the small craft bins into the "Bunny Room", opened them, with their lids vertical to them, then swept the small office, the dining room, and part of the great room. DH vacuumed the great room, dining, halls, etc.. and made me some Jasmine rice. ♥

I don't have enough laundry to do any, need to dust the great/dining rooms, and finish snail mail. I'm going to move a timer into the "Bunny Room" to time my sorting, on and off for today and the remainder of this week and our upcoming week, too. I believe it'll take me that long, since there are so many other things to do, too.

It's still sunny and beautiful here. I believe Wednesday is our last day of the nice weather, too. DH feels it's been so nice, how now he believes we're in for a cold snap and freezing weather. It's just his "hunch". We planned a simple light dinner. It seems like time's flying by today.
