Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
Hi ducky! Are you still at the SHESintouch site too?
The day is moving slowly - but that's OK. Gorgeous weather today!
Done since last post:
x meeting
x sat w/ family during bfast/brunch. Dh walked us through our upcoming trip with travel details, a rough plan for each day, and a little about what to expect - HEAT, we're traveling light, slightly different dress customs, significant possibility of pick pocketing. . . .
x kitchen is clean; dw is running. We ran it last night too, but there were a number of dishes that didn't fit.
Next:
- fold sheets with dh
- go to Target
Dh is planning on watching the FIFA game this afternoon on his laptop. He NEVER watches sports! Of course. we're hoping NL goes all the way this year - but who knows?

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
Helia, I haven't been to any SHE site since last summer.
TADA!
separated all clean laundry (several large buckets)
gave all clean laundry to appropriate people (well, in their spaces anyways)
put away all my clean laundry
put away all household laundry (towels, bedding, etc.)
wandered through the house picking up garbage and dirty dishes
hubby is still relaxing, but said he would like to take a walk today. When he is ready, I'll head out for that.

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
Hello to Dee, Kathryn, Twins' Mom, Helia, Nancy and DearDuckyDucky and Everyone!
It is such a nice day out here; the air is clean and fresh, sunny skies and 78*. Our 4th of July was nice. Good weather, good food and good company (dfamily!). The smoked beef brisket was delicious and we had coleslaw, baked beans, corn-on-the-cob and brownies or cupcakes for dessert.
Right after we ate we drove up to D.C. to Ft. Myer. There is a hill there high enough to overlook the Potomac River and D.C. I'm sure there were several thousand people there, but we had a good spot and could see well. Dgd16's dbf went with us and the dkids played a dice game called Left Center Right (I think I got it right), till it was dark enough for fireworks. The view of the fireworks was spectacular. We could even see fireworks all through the city, not associated with the national show.
Today, ddil and her dmom have to work, dh and ds have made a quick trip to W-M, dgd made tuna salad for our lunch, ds & dgs have cleaned up the kitchen. I've fed the animals and swept all the hardwood floors. The only thing left to do today is to pack a few things for our trip to Pittsburgh. I'm so excited for this side trip as I haven't been back home since 1985. Ds wants to leave about 4 am tomorrow morning. Our hotel is booked already.
Dson is trying to get dgkids to play a board game or something other than video games, but they're not interested.
Q??: Has anyone noticed anything odd with the print on the reply screen? When I type the "w" it seems fainter than the other letters.

Good morning Sunny!
TADA!
ran some errands with hubby (DF called to say an opossum was suffering and needed rescuing, it was injured too badly and died soon after we arrived)
released/fed/filled water for chickens
watered porch flower baskets and picked dead heads off
moved cars around
talked to BIL about his chores for the next few days (he will most likely leave now that I gave him work
)
Guess What!!!
No, really, guess!!!!
Alright, fine, I'll tell.
DH agreed to a dump run.
He agreed to let me fill his truck with dump items and he would take it next weekend. I am SO excited! We can get rid of so much garbage that otherwise wouldn't leave because it won't fit in our regular cans at the end of a week. I told BIL he needs to empty sections of the basement into the truck for a dump run (leaky pipe, hoarder BILs garbage, unknown nastiness). If we can get the basement emptied, then DH can move forward with the construction project of my craft room!!!

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
Howdy, DearDuckyDuckyDucky! I used to know you from the old SHE boards, too. I used to be Ivy and Judivy there, but no more. I remember you, Ducky! You're the teacher and are a LOT OF FUN, too!
Welcome!
I woke about 3:50 a.m., to take my thyroid pill (b/c I take Prilosec generic before breakfast). Started coughing,
woke the kitty up, so just canned sleeping, since she was clawing at her door, howling, etc... etc.... So she and I saw the sun rise, but later, she started trying to get DH up about 6:30 a.m., so I put her to bed. I later got a nap in about 1 hour or 2 hours. Then, Dson called, to say he was on his way with Dgs-15.5 and by then, I had sheets going, then towels, and DH polished up the stove top and re-sprayed/cleaned the shower.
DH and I just made the bed fresh, the towels are drying, and I'm on my way to CUOP and see if there's anymore laundry needing tending to. The house is pretty nice-looking, toilets re-cleaned, etc... b/c of DD being here the 4th and Dgs coming today. I hope we can keep it up all week. It'll be nice to relax and enjoy our Dgs.
The fireworks were going off into the wee a.m. hours. When I finally did get up, there was a cherry bomb at 4 a.m.!
Now, that's LATE!
Have a great day after the 4th. I'm tired, so I'll just wave at ya'll right now. Maybe tomorrow, after more sleep, I'll remember all of your names. (Just kidding!)

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
Ducky - it is good to see you posting!
My day has taken a couple of unexpected detours.
Detour #1- I marinated steaks to cook on the grill. I fired up the grill, closed the lid and was letting it heat up before putting steaks on. I walked away to put some things in the trash. When I turned around, flames were shooting out the side of the grill about a foot up into the air! I shoo'd LO to run to other side of the yard and then reach underneath to turn propane off. Flames keep on so I got the garden hose and put the fire out. All's well that ends well. I cooked the steaks in the house.
Detour #2 - After lunch LO went to the bathroom and started yelling. It was painful when he p** and he had blood (just a drop). So LO and I loaded up and went to big town. The first walk-in clinic we went to was so packed there wasn't any room to sit and they told us the wait would be hours. The 2nd walk-in clinic was better. We were in and out in under 2 hours, but there wasn't a doctor on staff - just a nurse practitioner. They collected a urine sample and sent it off to be cultured. In the mean time she gave LO a prescription for antibody. The pharmacy didn't have it in stock so they had to compound it....which means the insurance won't pay for it. Poor LO is still in pain. Hopefully the med will work quick.

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
LM Can the pharmacist write you a letter to submit to insurance? Dh's med are compounded and after 7 years on them, the pharmacist last night offered to write a letter for the insurance company. Don't know if it will work but she called it a 3rd Party Letter.
After the bike ride and a long phone call with my sister, dh and I started in on the office and finished with the boxes in there. Next was the dining room chandelier. It looks so much better now and larger (the one that came with this place was ugly and huge and dark.)
We're having CM and CF over for lunch with the boys tomorrow (and have invited the minister and his partner since they live nearby but haven't heard yet.) So it will be a first large gathering. Will need to use the good china because I only have 8 settings of my every day china.
Started work on the spare bedroom but, once again, got sidetracked and began with the storage cupboard. We ended up loading the archive files for the company in there. Archive boxes are the perfect size for both the storage cupboard and under the bed, so now I'm moving things from other size boxes to leftover archive boxes so I can efficiently pack things under the bed.
Took a break while dinner was cooking and iced my foot and then elevated it and read on the balcony for a while.
Now it is time to get back to the spare bedroom, especially since we are having guests over.

Lady maverick, did the walk in clinic suspect bladder infection? That is what the symptoms sound like to me. If so, some comfort can be gained while waiting for medicine, drink a LOT of water, cranberry pills if you have them, and don't put off going to the bathroom.
TADA
Cleaned on kitchen (top of fridge, cupboard doors, knick knack shelf, knick knacks, etc)
More laundry
Cooked dinner
Next up is to take DD to work, eat dinner, and head out to a movie with the family.

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
LM, I've also had success with AZO for bladder problems, LM. I do cranberry pills daily at meal times, cranberry juice is good and so is cranberry tea, too. Once, I read on the Internet how good green tea is for it, too.
If you have a UTI, I hope it clears up soon.
Ducky, I apologize for putting 1 too many Ducky's in your user name, too.
It's great about the dump run and construction of your craft room, too! Enjoy it when it's done. (You'll have a BALL!)
All our LOL is put away, the house looks nice, and DH is using Lock-Ease on my squeaky office door right now.
It's a mess, there are now black spots of it on my office door and office floor at the inside door. He's DONE THIS BEFORE, when he used it on doors and got it on the WALLS, like MUD on the walls!
Helpful Hubby, huh?
Oh, well. He's Very Good at cleaning up his "messes". I'm thankful for that!
I'd better sign out. His "scrubbing" is getting on my nerves. I came in here where it's quiet, with no TV, no XBOX, etc...

Re: SATURDAY SOJOURN
Thanks to FF (and others who had the same chore) I won't forget to hang up the laundry before bed!
The spare bedroom is almost done. We are picking up bookcases for the photo albums from the house tomorrow and there are a few things on the bed.
Poor dh still hasn't seen all of King Kong. He started around 5 and gave up around 9 when the internet to the Bluray slowed to make the movie unwatchable. Apparently he has an hour to go. He's been trying to watch this movie since Wednesday and started it early today so he wouldn't have it run too late.
