Twins - THANK YOU for circumcision information. I have tried looking online for information but that is almost a wasted effort. There are such strong opinions about it that information is hard to find. For now, LO is looking forward to his appointment with "pee-ologist" (his word for doctor) and isn't asking any questions about what will (or won't) be done. Although, I admit to filling that 48 hour time period up with so many fun things that going to the doctor has turned into a minor event. I hope the actual "fix" will follow with same low anxiety as the examination.

LM, your mileage may vary of course but it wasn't a big deal for ds. Hope that LO sails through easily as well.

I am not being particularly productive today, typical of the day after a trip to see dsis. I should clarify that, sadly, I don't get personal enjoyment out of seeing her. It's something I have to do, given that I committed to be her guardian and her ds/ddil don't make the effort, or aren't able to make the effort, or whatever. (Her xdh went to see her a couple of weeks ago and visited and took her out.) She really doesn't talk except to answer questions and a lot of times it's uhhhh or utnnnh or hard to understand. She will answer questions with short answers at times but no real discussion. And we haven't been close for at least 40 years - I always felt very different from them and dbro and dsis were closer and I was the odd man out. All in all, it's a very depressing day between the effort to get there, including dealing with ATL traffic and the lack of communication. But that's the nature of her illness, I guess. I am doing what I can; she is safe there, gets her meds on a schedule and has adequate nutrition.

The meeting for tonight was cancelled.

-finish a.m. routine (still haven't s2s-ed, can't decide whether to do now or after I work out later?)

-make pedicure appt

As long as I'm on a roll here with my whining, I'll mention that the Federation here is sponsoring an event tomorrow evening - frustrated that drabbi asked me to do a reading (as past president) if current president isn't able to be there. I showed up for almost every event for three years, and now I"m being asked to do it more because current president doesn't make it a priority? Anyway, I nicely suggested that perhaps one of our VPs could do it instead.

I do a decent job at these things but I'm tired of being in the limelight, particularly on this particular subject.

Dson23 and I are both sick with something we got at WM I guess. Or maybe we are just having sinus problems but we both feel yucky.

Dson-18's procedure was moved again! This time it is August 25th. DH told them it better be the last time because we could go some where else. I hate the thought of going somewhere else because they most likely won't go by this place's tests results and Dson would have to go through everything again. But maybe it won't come to that. Hoping...

I can now put my hand all the way into the back pocket on the left side of my jeans. Progress!

The house is staring at me with lots of things but I need to rest. This weekend is tax-free weekend and will sure be busy.

Back from the doc. I am fine. I do not need to go back for 12 mo. I need blood work. No surprise. No free meds. Frustrated about that.

Called the ac guys I have an apt. This afternoon.

Helia - YEAH for upcoming interview! I'm following along the design educational options. Very interesting! Our previous youth minister & newlywed wife (20 years old) recently started a small t-shirt business in a very small town. It is fun to see them succeed in such a limited environment beyond anyone expectations. Her design skills are being sought out and used in some unusual places. Recently she did design for Garth Brooks for his tour. I'm applauding all creative talents in whatever form the design happens.

Twins - you are NOT whining at all. Your DSis situation has you in a difficult position. You are handling it with grace and kindness.

Sadie: so sorry there's another delay for your son but BWTG on getting your hand in your pocket. Sounds like a little achievement to some but we know how hard you've been working at the little challenges on your way to full recovery.

No progress here. Well there's progress just not enough of it. Still haven't had a proper lunch so that will be my next to-do.

I did get a few papers filed. I'm also staring at my SHE 'cards' (actually entries in Google Calendar) and checking off the ones I've done so far this week.

I think I'm going to have to miss the funeral tomorrow. I just don't have it in me to do the long drive and there's no real reason to go as I don't know the family. Visiting twice while June was dying was the important bit.

Just realized I have to phone the septic guy so that's my next priority, then lunch. Actually, pee first.... geez my priorities are getting bunched up!

Right now, dgs and I are home alone... dh is playing golf. I am trying to get dgs to go outside so I can walk... but he keeps saying, "no, no." Eventually, I'll get my shorts on and just pick him up and go, but right now I'm taking a tiny break! Talked to dmom; she did not want to go to next town to take care of her phone(s) today, but she said she would come out here and sign the second (corrected) bill of sale for ds. And take a Dr. Granny look at dgs's bumps and bruises from last night. (He's doing fine though, no sign of troubles from his scary fall, except for the knots on his head.)

Twins, I do not blame you for declining the "invitation" to speak. New president needs to learn to make these sorts of things a priority.

Good luck on the interview, helia, and (((HUGS))) for the decision-making dd will be facing. That is true; if you were the daughter of the rich and famous, I think it would be hard to trust people. That's exciting though, that she will be a student there. I wonder what she is studying.

(((Twins))) (((BIG, BIG HUGS)))... at least you have the peace of knowing that you ARE doing the right thing, and that dsis is being well cared for. Such a sad, sad situation.

OH -- when we talked today, she admitted that she has LOST two checks -- payment for a tractor she sold to her neighbors and payment for ddad's utility trailer. * sheesh * However, she has not checked thoroughly in her car, and thinks they could have slipped out of her bag there... * sigh * What am I going to do with her???

Kathryn, I think one of my good friends drove a Fiesta for years. Sounds like a good car so maybe it'll serve your purpose! I kinda envy you your biking time, though. I think I would enjoy biking (on flat surfaces)!
