Hello SHE friends. How did 10 days pass since I cuop here in pwyc? I've peeked into members and J&C every couple of days, & I remember one night reading 3 or 4 posts here & giving up because I was too sleepy. So, I'll just jump in where I am.

It's been a busy week with lots of time out of the house, which means dh & I come home & put down whatever we carried in, without putting it away. As you all know, that can get out of hand, quick! Yesterday I did several loads of laundry through to put away, & today I'm caught up on the 3 "D"s -- dinner, duds, & dishes. Laundry is done, kitchen is straightened up (but the counters & sink need a good cleaning) & I have a plan for dinner. Dh & I went out to look at snowblowers this morning & when we got home I dealt with a stack of mail & put more stuff away.

Vacuuming & cleaning bathrooms is on my list for this afternoon. My tea is done, so I better get to work on the other 3 "D"s here in my house -- dirt, dust, & dog hair!

Still fighting a pretty sore upper lip and just inside it, but the rest of my sulfa reactions seem to have abated. Now to hope the infection in my gum doesn't come back. Going to look up what antibiotic my own dr has prescribed in the past. I think it's something like Clyn damicin.

We are having a beautiful coolish sunshiney day here. It's really beautiful outside.

I've been inside cleaning up messes. Piles all over the dining room in effort to find the lost file... are all organized and restacked inside the storage boxes. After all that I did find the file I needed just put on the closet shelf. My problem is I don't have the time to take off the lid and log onto the list and put in the box... and then there gets to be several packets on top of the box and I can no longer get into the box... so packets get put on the next available spot. My version of stash and dash I guess.

Anyway, the papers I needed are not IN the packet I found. And I never heard from the original company who I asked to email the info again... but this morning I had an idea that these papers also go to the engineer so perhaps THEY have them and will cooperate and send to me...

Time spent in shop with DH helping with repairs on cement mixer. Wobbley axle at wheel welded, supported, and helped with tires. Sent him off to tire guy with old tires and rims...

I need to shine my kitchen floor and the hallway up to the office where there are coffee spills. So much needing done. And so much I do around here doesn't show.

Just got home from choir. Left here at 12:20 so lost the afternoon.

Choir lasted until 3, then we stopped and picked up a sale item that we needed and then drove to a hardware store that sells Paderno pots because I was interested in a new set of pots (the old ones are about 20 years old so not ancient but several are falling apart.)

This was an old fashioned hardware store with things piled all over and narrow aisles so it took a while to find out there weren't any on display. They brought the set we wanted but the lids don't fit inside for storage and while I have room now to store the lids, these pots will likely last another 20+ years and I'm pretty sure we won't be here in 20 years so I said no. Dd's lids don't store in her pots and she has trouble as a result.

Dh is a bit grumpy because he wanted new pots. I do too but I want something perfect (which means, fully functional, good price, made in Canada, because I'm replacing an almost completely good set so have no need for these.) The handles on the lid would likely have been hot so you'd need a pot holder just to take a lid off a pot and check the contents. That's another frustration and I don't need more frustrations in my life right now. I'm frustrated enough because my steamer doesn't have a handle (dh sacrificed it to keep the smaller pot we used daily going longer but it has since died.)

After the neighbourhood hardware store we drove on to the neighbourhood music store to get strings for dh's guitar (it needs to be restrung before morning.) That turned into an hour long visit with staff and the owner who is a doll. He used to live in our apartment building. I enjoyed the time there but it meant I'm cranky now because I never had lunch. And dh has to get things done before cooking dinner tonight. So I'm starting to snack.

I am very prone to getting sores in my mouth and usually more than one at a time. I used to really suffer with them using all sorts of OTC stuff and nothing really helped.

At some point Sweetie taught me a trick that has really really helped. At the first sign of a mouth sore I start taking acid reducers for them. I also take them right away when a blemish starts to form on my face... I'm talking about the kind that swell up and hurt. Sweetie believes it's becuase I have acid forming in my stomach and he has found it has worked for him over the years.

I don't know it that's true, neither does Sweetie, but it does make sense to me, plus it works. At least for me anyway.

Errands done we got groc. Shopping done. Had lunch out.
Went to the craft fair at the high school, it was huge and fun.
Gave an elderly gentleman a ride home to the retirement center.
got a ham & tky for the holiday season.
More yarn for future projects.
cleaned the coop & run.
Peeled eggs.

I started using Google new email system this week. It has taken a bit to wrap my mind around this new way, but it is quickly growing on me. If I understand it correctly, using this new way of processing email means never delete any email - it is just archived.

I sat down to get off my feet for a few minutes. This afternoon we attended a birthday party for one of LO classmates. I thought he was being raised by his grand parents but my DMom told me today that it was his Great Grandparents!! I am amazed how much energy she has. The Grandfather or Great Grandfather (not entirely sure which) was totally wiped out by the end of the 2 hour party. I stayed afterwards and helped her clean up.

A huge pan of dressing is made and ready to stick into the oven in the morning. DW is running. I'll start cooking again in a few minutes.

DH's employer is doing a food drive contest this month with specific requests for each week. They've done this in past years, with the company employees divided into 4 teams, and everything is donated to a local food pantry. DH decided it would be more fun this time to give the foods requested instead of just giving cash as he has done in the past. Therefore, this afternoon we went out to a late lunch at RBs and then stopped at Aldi for this week's items.

I'm hoping he will get the info about the requested items earlier in the week from now on so I can work it into my normal grocery run, rather than having to drive to The Big City an extra trip. Failing that, it might be less expensive (and definitely a lot less time) to pay the higher price at Tiny Town Grocery vs. the extra gas for the car. As long as they ask for normal family food items, Tiny Town Grocery should have them. For example, this week's requests were a box of stuffing mix, small jar of peanut butter, and can of yams.

It worked out today because he was in the mood for a drive, and wanted a reuben and curly fries from RB. However, while we were in The Big City the snow started, gently at first but it quickly turned heavy. By the time we started for home, the roads were already getting somewhat slippery. DH was being careful but still when we were close to home, he almost slid through a stop sign.

I have not heard any trucks outside sanding the intersections. I wonder if city officials decided to wait until the snow stops, which might not be until tomorrow morning. I'm glad it isn't my responsibility to decide, saving on overtime pay for the public works employees vs. risk of accidents because the roads aren't treated yet.

We had considered going to a play tonight to see a couple friends. I'm sorry to miss their show, but it is really not worth the risk of getting in an accident. They have a final performance tomorrow afternoon so we'll see what the roads look like in the morning.

I borrowed a couple classic movie musicals from the library, Holiday Inn and White Christmas. The DVD cases of both show that extra features have been added to the disks. I'm looking forward to watching one of them tonight.

On treadmill, trying to warm up (plus I need an extra 6K steps before bed - highly unlikely.)

Dinner was nice. Kitchen is my problem (dh cooked) and then I have to pack. Still haven't picked hymns for Nov 30th (so I can give them to the organist tomorrow.) There is nothing suitable in the retirement home's song book for Advent. sigh.... I'm really gong to miss dh that day.

I'm going to walk on the treadmill for 10, then 15 to clean up kitchen, another 10 on treadmill, then 15 packing, etc, etc until bedtime. It's a plan.

Tomorrow, if I have time, I'll do a couple of miles first thing in the morning so I won't fall too far behind on the leaderboard. I've dropped to 59th. I was 52 last night but then haven't moved much today. Actually, I did move but it was in the water so doesn't count as steps.
