Yep, happy we year... Whee...
Halftime -- we are winning 14-7, so it's a little too close for comfort. I am so sleepy I can't believe it. Only 30 more minutes.
So sorry Mr Harmony is sick too, and any others I may have missed.

Sure I just saw you, LucyLee (just kidding). DD has that same game on here. DDIL#1 would be rooting for Wisconsin, I'm sure. We, too, watched the parade too, Harmony. Then I tried to do reports on the computer. Unfortunately I must have really strained my eyes watching the 2-hour parade as I'm having trouble reading the print from notes. I can make it larger on here, but not the notes.
Took a little while off and dd and I cleaned one double cupboard over her dryer and the 3 shelves on the other side of the room (there's counter and drawers/cupboards beneath that.) I also gathered all the excess baking supplies put them all on a 3-tier cart and was able to wheel that into the laundry room at the end of the counter. Want to put a tablecloth over it because things around here get SOOOOO dusty so easily. DD has decided to work on getting the house ready to sell (OR) to start doing some things she'd like to enjoy for a while if they decide to stay put. Guess the accountant told dsonil the other day to apply for the job at C oca C ola. It really is right up his alley and only 10 minutes as opposed to 50 miles to the Tampa plant. She told him he was in a position that would not give him promotions where he is. Even if he took a pay cut, the gas savings are pretty large (though not as much as a few months ago -I paid $2.21/gal yesterday.)
Guess I'll go watch the rest of this game with DD.

Puttering around here today. I blew off going to the Chili, beer and Football annual New Years day party that we go to every year. I've been around so many people that I really need the quiet time today. Dh wasn't very happy - said he would have to "spend all of his time explaining that I didn't want to socialize"

I just told him to tell people I didn't feel well.
Big noisy party last night - those on Facebook probably saw me tagged with the Russian dinner and vodka shots. They had a full table of "appetizers" to pass: burekas, cabbage strudel, bread and butter, cold cuts, pickled vegetables, smoked fish, lots of other things. Then suggested we all get up from table and visit or take a walk, then entree of cabbage rolls and roasted veggies, followed by dessert and champagne. With ice cold vodka accompanying all courses. I drank some, but also kept my water filled up. These friends did the sit down dinner this year instead of a New Years Eve party so people wouldn't feel they had to stay until midnight. We left around 11, dh sat down in front of the TV at home and fell fast asleep. I watched TV and read until a little after midnight, when I tried to wake him up to go to bed. I went on to bed and left him in front of the TV, but before I got to sleep dd and Z came in - they had been at an outdoor party downtown - so I got up to talk to them. (Ds took them downtown and dropped them off, and they used Uber to get home.) Not a date - they are more like siblings.
Today I slept in, and then went back to bed for a couple more hours. We will watch the FL State game beginning at five p.m. and we have a shrimp tray thawing.
I have the DR back together after dh's birthday dinner on Tuesday night. The kitchen is probably 90% back to normal. House isn't too bad otherwise.
-s2s (finally)
-finish kitchen clean up
-walk the dogs
-take out kitchen trash
-fill up meds containers

Anyone missed the parade this morning, it is back on Hall mark repeated. I have put it back on there as I've missed a bunch of it because I am working on spreadsheets and can't look up very often.
Got Dec. sheet done, the miscellaneous one done, and the year total one done except for all the notes I'll add. The total one is the bugger, because that's where I find all the mistakes. There were just 3, and one was an easy fix but the other two I was scratching my head. It all balances now. I'm a long way down the road to closing out the year.
Got whites washed and hung up. Got the perm. press washing now. After I hang that up I'll go to store to get night time "quil" medicine DH wants for tonight. He is still in bed..I took him some hot soup.
I'll watch the FL game tonight - at least off & on - because I know DD will be texting about that!

I think I'm going to admit that staying up to get my kiss last night has me off schedule today and I'm going to follow Twins' Mom's example and nap.
Our very traditional lunch was crowder peas and turnip and mustard greens. I had bacon, HRH abstained.
Dd is out with a friend whose ddad picked her up - they will see a movie. I just hope (and told her I hope) it is not scary or ugly in any way.
Feel well, lucylee and dh.
Feel better, Mr. Harmony (are you sure it is flu, Harmony? Lots of different quick viruses floating around in our area.)
Emptynester, I was so happy for you and Mr. with your cheerful report on anniversary doin's.
